- The price for being slack is more work. Completely forgot to do the size comparisons! So thanks to viewer Star burst for reminding me about that.

I like to imagine Meta as just an especially large individual. In Australia there was a 29 ft saltwater crocodile so a larger Deinosuchus isn’t completely out of the question
Important to note that Krys' size was never confirmed by experts and is highly unlikely to have been accurate.
I mean, the 2 currently discovered Deinosuchus Hatcheri's specimens are believed to've reached 13-14 meters long, so the size isn't that off.
The main objection to that is that larger animals in nature aren't exactly scaled up in all dimensions compared to smaller individuals, while in this case it would be like a volumetric increase in all directions. 😥Have a look at my WAM Humanoids review to see what I mean with the example of the Triceratops.
Damn you’ve earned a sub I’ve never seen such a big RUclipsr take so much care in giving us viewers everything we want and more!
Good Heavens I'm not a big RUclips at all, just a little modest one 😁 Actually I always make it a point to include size comparisons, because as you pointed out in your post, how helpful would it be without to help collectors figure if they can even spare shelf space! Can't imagine how I overlooked it this time, but thanks for the reminder!
@@DinosDragons good luck on RUclips!
In both variants that seam line is not visible at all. And I think the rebor sarcosuchus is the same (the size and the stiff tail). Because in their promotional photos, I haven't seen a bendable tail. But their upcoming Diplodocus is exceptional. wonderful size comparison video my dear sir. And personally, I think a gentle and beautiful figure like this deserves a separate size comparison video. Keep it up, my dear sir. You are the best ❤
Thanks for your comment as always Rajitha! Well, I've seen some Chinese collectors write about a bendable tail, and I have actually seen some photos where collectors have the tails certainly more bent than mine. It's just that mine is so tight, I worry I might split the skin if I force it. Since that's not too important to me, I thought I could just leave it as is.
Of course sauropods are my favourite group, so I can't wait to see what their Diplodocus looks like!
It's so badass bruh, I love it! Deinosuchus has always been one of my favorite prehistoric crocodilians (and reptiles in general) and it's so refreshing to see an awesome figure of it.
That's one thing that having models on a larger scale will do. In this case Rebor has made use of the much larger canvas and given us the best it can. What's sad is when some companies offer a larger scale version of an animal, and their level of detail and paint application still looks no elevated compared to regular smaller sized models.
@@DinosDragons That's true, there's a lot of good examples out there. Glad Rebor hasn't fallen victim to it though.
I hope after Deinosuchus, soon Sarcosuchus, ...they will also bring Purussaurus.
That would definitely round out the Unholy Trinity of mega prehistoric crocs for me! 😲😲
Thanks for the update... looking forward to your next video...
You're most welcome! I hope to get one up soon!
The Deinosuchus is a really pretty model! I don't think I'll get it personally but at least Rebor seems to have improved their tail seams on their models after how bad it was on their T. rexes.
The almost segmented nature of the crocodylian form helps with that, the same way in arthropods any seams just flow with the actual animal. I will say that in terms of fit, it gets on and off a lot easier and fits better!
A truly massive beast, also can't wait for the new video
Thank you for your support!
You're welcome
You do fantastic work--many kudos. In a few other videos, you have a hunch that the 2023 PNSO offerings will include more sea dinosaurs. If you had to guess, what do think might be coming?
Thanks for your words and for paying such close attention! 😊 If I had to guess, I would specualte at least two marine animals. A plesiosaur for sure, and then another one of the more unusual animals that you hear about less often, such as Nothosaurus, a thalattosaur, a placodont, or Psephochelys. If I had to bet on just one, it would be the plesiosaur.... way overdue! 😥
@@DinosDragons Thanks for the reply! From your lips to God's ear! I'm pretty new to this hobby--only been collecting for about six months. I am limiting my collection to prehistoric water fauna (I have limited space, and the idea of collecting everything dinosaur is dizzyingly overwhelming and expensive.)
If you have time (if not, no worries), can you tell me, vis a vis ancient sea creatures:
1) Are there sites for models that I should be searching besides the ones I've already found: PNSO, Schleich, CollectA, Safari, Papo. I'm not looking for huge resin models, but do love the kind of thing that PNSO is providing.
And
2) When does PNSO generally release new models? Do they release a list for each year, or only announce a model when a new one is ready? If you wanted to get some extra model stands from them, is there a way to do that? If I understand correctly, there is no way to get things from them directly?
Thanks for any advice you may provide.
Great reviews again.
We can give up... Rebor never makes one equal scale.
Your solution with the small figures in every scale from 1:35 - 1:20 is the best for it.
They are cheap and you can put one figure beside every model scale for imagination.
Exactlly! That's why I love these WAM humanoids so much! They really help to separate and organize things a lot. I think their scale e.g. for T Rex and Smilodon were both a little off, but this Deinosuchus is by far the most egergious. No way this is even remotely 1:35!
Damn, thats a beast. I‘d still prefer smaller models that don‘t have to be assembled though.
The consolation is because of the croc scutes, the seam is barely visible. It also fits a lot better than the T rex. But yeah, the size is an issue especially if you have limited space!
I never realized Parasaurolophosaurs were preyed upon by Banthas. I guess they were that delicious.
They were! Actually I remember reading an article on how dinosaur might taste. Can't remember what it was, but I wonder if they taste more like beef, or more like chicken😁🤣
I hope sarcosuchus has a more flexible tail and it's size is a bit smaller.
I certainly hope so! I need amazing crocodylians to go with my mainly 1:35 dinosaurs... but I think it makes sense that Rebor will choose to make it scale with the Deinosuchus instead, so closer to the 1:23 or so for Deinosuchus.
its a shame that they made it that big, wouldve preferred it slightly smaller to scale better with other models
I guess at least they didn't waste all that real estate, and filled it in nicely with detail and paint apps. But man I really want a 1:35 badly! It would be amazing to have a non-dinosaur to show how they scaled with the dinosaurs of the time, and lend a broad insight into the paleoecology back then.
@@DinosDragons ky thoughts exactly
A friend of mine on Facebook is not a huge fan of the rebor Deinosuchus because it has weird looking scoots
I suppose he means that they don't reflect the inflated dome-like form unique to Deinosuchus?
@@DinosDragons I think so but I don’t know too much about Deinosuchus
this one is gargantuan!
Tell me about it! It even weighs gargantuan!
Is this supposed to be a male or female specimen?
I have absolutely no idea! And the idea of finding out doesn't appeal to me! 😪
Holy crap Deino would body all of them
There's no doubt that if any animal were to get near the water, they would no longer be the most dangerous badass in town, whoever they are!
2.0
Think the pose is boring and the seam line ruins it, Rebor keep getting somethiing wrong
In fairness it's hard to get something perfect. If you mean the seamline in the tail join, I felt it could barely be seen at normal viewing distance, but looking at it from the underside it becomes clearer. Without a separate tail, the shipping cost would go up a lot because of the volumetric increase of the box.
@@DinosDragons If you make deinosuchus on a smaller scale, then the problem of making it separate will disappear and the problem of a large volume of the box will disappear. In addition, the scale here is actually clearly larger than 1:35.
@@DinosDragons Yes but it's been ongoing issues whether its standing issues or seam issues , Rebor don't seem to solve them . Look at the kiss T rex my copy was awful
@@player21099 Most definitely! There is no way this is even remotely close to 1:35. The rest of the models like the Smilodon or T Rex you could argue that the scales are close, but this one would be the most egregious departuer of all.
