I just recently purchased the newest version (2024 version directly from north faces website) of this coat. Sadly they have removed a few good features that you have shown in this video. The two drawcords around the midsection and hips have been removed. The face cover in the hood is no longer there. It is sad to see companies cheapen products just to make a few more dollars. I’m still happy with the coat as I got it on sale for $280.00 but for the full retail price of $400.00 it really needs the extra features. I do wish it had the two drawstrings as too tighten it down and keep cold air from coming up the coat. Also they replaced the button snaps with Velcro but that isn’t too big of a deal because it is easier to close with gloves on. All in all it’s a great coat but I’m sad to see it have key features removed probably just to save a few bucks.
Holy cow, they took a lot away from the jacket then yeah on sale for this jacket it is a good buy, but with the features removed, this jacket is hard to purchase at full retail thanks for the updates!
I believe TNF made several variations of this jacket other than the V1 V2 McMurdo jacket. That had extra inner pockets for gloves goggles MP3 player ect. That included the 2 inner draw strings also. But font have any McMurdo branding on them
It's good being a parka it's bound to be bulky But it keeps you very warm 550 fill it keeps the wind off you and nice to see all the water just beading off the outer Hyvent shell.

Is this the mcmurdo 1 or 2?

I have the same model/ yr but Blk and love it .. I was wondering the main difference other than 550 vs 600 down.. good video
do u think the bulk/puff is too much or is good, in your experience? or maybe doesnt ultimately matter much
