      I think that I will use this as an excuse to finally improve my iron farm. Right now I have a double iron farm, which is enough for me. I honestly don't use iron often enough to need more than that, although I may expand it to an octuple farm at some point. However, it is on an ugly little island with just a couple chests for storage, and I would love to build a nether portal and AFK room there with a control panel to auto dispense Iron blocks or poppies up to me. Could be really cool!

    the auto crafter needs to have the function of locking in a recipe so you go to it, manually place the items where they need to go for the recipe and then it should lock that recipe so even if you run out of items, itll still have the recipe so once you refill those items then it can put them in the correct place rather than random slots. I think technically you could do something similar to that with red stone using a comparator similar to how sorting systems work have the recipe already in the autocrafter and when it reaches like enough to make 13 of it in the crafter (or however much is needed to trigger the comparator) the comparator sends a signal and crafts then every time it receives more resources or crafts one then done and boom recipe locked you could then have a fail safe for if it crafts the wrong thing that what it crafts has to pass through a sorting system and every time the item passes through the system it allows it to craft another or something like that

    • @adamholt929
      @adamholt929 7 месяцев назад

      @truckmuncher8998 unfortunately the comparator doesn't work very well with the crafter as it can only tell whether a slot is open or not. Which means you don't get a change in signal until a slot is empty, which then can break the recipe anyway

    One change I hope they make to the crafter is how the comparator read-out works. If they made the signal strength based on the amount of items in the crafter versus the number of slots filled, that would allow you to only trigger the crafter once a certain number of ingredients have entered it, allowing you to keep behind a "Template" of blocks. It would make crafting more complex recipes like tools far easier.

    • @joynika8444

      @thathungryguy2617 7 месяцев назад +3

      The current comparator output is actually super relevant for complex recipes, allowing you to trigger a set of ingredient droppers on a hopper line in sequence rather than all at once

    • @vencedor1774
      @vencedor1774 7 месяцев назад +1

      All the serious complex crafting are just gonna use a redstone clock that activates exactly when the recipie is done, because they are faster and you save a bunch of ticks per crafting. That adds up in the long run. Then that doesnt really matter.

    • @thathungryguy2617
      @thathungryguy2617 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@vencedor1774 any system advanced enough to want the speed needs to be generalizable to stuff like dispensers, which require a non-stackable item anyway, so relying on stacks to hold recipes won't be practical
      Edit: the non-generalizable fast-crafting systems aren't going to need to read stacking either, since they're either completely homogenous or at least shapeless

  • @oaksparoakspar3144

    For most recipes you just need to keep the crafter full so that the "memory" is held by the stack and just pulse the crafter slower than the reload speed (4 tics per item of the most common item in the recipe). You can do that by just keeping the pulse on a slow enough clock. This can mess you up if you run out of items which is the downside compared to the comparator method where you craft once full.
    For recipes with non stackables, life gets a bit harder, but you can do much the same if you set it up to have locked feed hoppers until the nonstackable is added.
    So, for dispensers, you have one crafter set to make bows with full stacks of string and sticks and two hoppers into it feeding it more sticks and string continually. The pulse needs at least a 12 tic delay (but it will be longer than that). That part is easy and you have it craft directly into the dispenser crafter. For that one you need two locked feed hoppers (cobble and redstone) as well as the crafter primed with full stacks. The timing goes (1) pulse crafter A to put bow into the open center slot of crafter B (2) unlock crafter B's feed hoppers for at least 28 tics (7 cobble feeding in) (3) lock crafter B's feed hoppers (4) pulse crafter B (5) repeat from step (1).
    As long as the bow goes in first, the unlocked hoppers refill the stacks in crafter B and life continues.
    Most of the people I've seen are trying to build a fill order in a hopper line - but the second you unload the area, lag, etc, you get item stacks and the process breaks. You have to either "step" them in with an alternating dropper line or have lots of "dead" hoppers to spread out the items to make those systems reliable. The "keep full" method loses the elegance of the comparator for a simple clock - but they work better (and having the comparator as a "shut off" if you are ever less than 9 power is a good safety).

    Hello @Silentwisperer I am really new to this game. Could you build say a few basic farms like bone mill, chicken, cow, stone, etc. And incorporate this new auto creator within your other designs to show how it would work and help? For example your chicken farm how would adding these auto crafter tables help and can you use them to sort out items like feathers to one box and meat to the other box.

    • @user-mf4uo9ox2y
      @user-mf4uo9ox2y 7 месяцев назад

      Sorting feathers out from the meat has already been possible for a while and the new auto crafter only helps with making items not sorting items, if you want to sort items out there are plenty of tutorials on RUclips for sorting systems although they do tend to be quite complicated
      Also I don't really think there will be very many farm designs that incorporate the auto crafter yet because it's still not fully implemented yet and could be significantly changed

    fun fact: the speed of the crafter is actually only limited by how fast you can get items in. I don't know exactly how to explain it, but with the right types of clocks you can pulse extremely frequently, completing a stack of crafts in seconds.

    A) reversable, or
    B) use nonstackable items as ingredients, or
    C) I know I realisticly have no other use for the ingredients.
    ...
    For any other use, I would rather bring the ingredients to the build sight, and craft my blocks there. That way any leftover ingredients can still be used to craft other things later.

    Imagine an industrial farming area, where there's a shulker farm, a fully automatic nether tree farm, and a fully automatic self replenishing bonemeal farm all together, so it can fuel the nether tree farm.
    All the materials for a fully automatic shulker box farm are now present. And with this, we can actually craft them into shulker boxes pretty easily.
    And what do we get when we have an infinite amount of shulker boxes at our disposal thanks to this? The answer is simple: time. We'll get a ton of extra time on our hands, because we won't have to craft thefarm outputs into their most compact forms, and put them in shulkers that way; we won't have to manually craft up those shulkers, and we can have the farms use an on-demand system to request more if needed. This is the storage revolution.
    The item that makes redstone not only exceptionally useful, but even more convenient to have around us than it previously was.
    Probably the 4th biggest revolutionary item in minecraft, after comparators, hoppers, and pistons, pushing observers down to 5th place. And maybe sprinkle an elytra in there for 6th.
