    Nice work with the camera location. Looks like a few places got completely tore down and redone. Have you done the Weird Science film locations?

    Be cool to see some behind the scenes of you guys visiting these locations and going "Hey, this used to be where a movie was filmed, we'd like to see if we can find the same spots"... Especially for a movie like Revenge Of The Nerds.... TWO...

      Funny thing is, I was inspired to start making these videos, because I would see other people on RUclips go to filming locations and say stuff like "remember the part where..?" and "If you find the movie and watch it, you'll notice that..", while showing shakey cam footage of the general area today. Occasionally, but often not, you get brief footage of the movie to jog your memory. I found myself skipping most of the content, looking for comparison shots scattered about, when you're lucky enough to be watching one of the videos that even have any. I started Reshoots so I could make these videos the way I wanted to see them in the first place.
      I have some good stories from my adventures researching and finding locations. I've gotten neat stories from locals who remember filming, and my favorite experiences are generally when I run into people who live or work in the location, and they're shocked (and even better, appalled, ha) to find out the past of their home, business, or neighborhood. But I'm very reluctant to start talking about that in these videos. Not having a personality associated with this channel has probably slowed down its potential growth, but I think there's something cool about the pureness of Reshoots. : )
      If I did do anything like that, it would have to be on a sister channel. What does everyone else think of me doing something like that? My personality may not sustain it. Who knows, maybe I'll tell the stories in writing, in a Reshoots coffee table book with photo comparisons.

    Loved this film. So was the swimming pool fake? Looks like it was located where the sidewalk and road are now. Also, the beach across the road? Just more buildings??? My childhood has been shattered.

    • @Reshoots
      @Reshoots  11 месяцев назад +9

      That whole area used those old-style buildings to look like a run-down beach, but the beach was fake (there's a reason they never showed the water during those scenes, ha). It was always a regular road, with plenty of businesses on both sides. They had just added a few things for filming -- like a fake pool and lots of sand. Notice the billboard to the right of the hotel in the movie -- probably there to block us from seeing the busy intersection. Now that a few of those old buildings are gone, that one remaining building is the only thing left showing hints of filming there.
      I have another Reshoot for a movie filmed in the 70s coming up (soon?), that had a scene filmed on the same street, on the same block. It looked like any other busy city street back then.

      Yes if you look around the pool you’ll see its slightly higher step.
      My guess is they threw down a black tarp, put bricks around it and constructed a pool that is probably only 2-3 inches deep. With colored water and debris to make it look deeper
