this game is conan exiles mechanics (better and deeper) in Green Hell map (dense, realistic and emersive) . only difference is this one works, conan dont. oh and did I mention the NPCs actually JUMP here?! I know right..? And wait till you see the first aligator :D And the spear is so out of V rising. This devs know their stuff, totally excited to see where this is going :D
Whoa, whoa...the amount of jiggle on display here can't be in line with Unreal Engines new coding standards! (it is line with my "low" standards though...) I'll have to wishlist it so I can keep an on it's EA progress, looks kinda neat.
Okay, where do I start with this. I get that the combat system wants to be really cool. I also understand that they want the combat to be fun and a focus. However, some of these animations clip severely. Their Animation start and stop are so sudden that it looks bad. If you can't or don't know how to start an animation and finish the animation in a way where it doesn't look like.. a game from a era-passed then.. I genuinely and respectfully think, you should refine the animation quality. It looks really jarring and out of place. Some animations are way too fast, and some are painfully slow. If the animations are there to be visually appealing to look at something has to be done and it doesn't have to be wild. To give you an example for how animations can be done well but also being simple.. Baldurs gate have good animations, but they are simple "A slash" but it's animated well. Any great sword animation from the monster hunter series is animated well. I stress, it's not about liking the games or "agreeing with how the weapon is used" when i make these examples, it's the quality of the animation. Even Conan Exiles has great animations that start and end well. (Again, I stress, its not about liking the game, its about the animations being done well) You have inspiration all around you on how to do it well.. the trailer... shows.. i don't even really understand what it is supposed to show me. Because it makes the combat look unappealing. to me, Soulmask looks like (and reads like) a very interesting fun game (Animations aside) But these combat animations.. geez..
Conan exiles has absolutely awful weapon animations. Most of the weapons in the roster are completely unviable in pvp because of their abysmal frame data.
combat looks a step up from conan exiles and a step down from blade of darkness.
At least youre not just rolling everywhere -- props for that

Vamos vamos, queda poco
Give me the sticker shock, my body is ready
Espero que agreguen mazas de una mano, es un arma muy común en los ejércitos Incas.❤
Feels as janky and stiff as Conan Exiles' combat (which it really reminds me both in gameplay and asset quality)...
Combat looks like proper fun, lots of variation and cool animations!
PC just stands stiff as a broom between animations.
