The King of Gondor and the King Of Wakanda in one room.
Truely "good men".
Najum Hussain simply amazing
Haaaaa.
Najum Hussain ikr 🤯🤯🤯
Good one!
Viggo Mortensen is honestly the most underrated actor of our generation. He is absolutely amazing in all his movies and yet he doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
Amazing in "Perfect Murder"
He avoids mainstream media (except for LOTR but that was 17 years ago) and does quality movies. If he decided to take part in the Marvel Universe then everyone would know him better and he'd get the status RDJ does but he's more withdrawn from that kinda place.
Eastern promises movie is a must see for any Vigo...nay film fan. Exceptional.
That's because he doesn't want to do big blockbuster movies he wants to make quality movies.
I haven't seen too many of his movies but he was incredible in the green book.
This is a pairing I never, ever, EVER saw coming. Two of the most chilled out kings.
They did a roundtable together with Mahershala Ali, Hugh Jackman, Richard E. Grant and Timothée Chalamet too.

Now even more precious as Chadwick B has passed on August 28th. GOD rest his soul. This man worked like a dragon, getting so much work done. His loss is felt deeply all around the world 😪. What a legacy he has left...
@@joannew-schmidhammer9325 Joanne, I honestly took time off from social media for two days. I'm feeling his loss. The impact Mr. Boseman had is greatly felt, not just by his portrayal of Black Panther. I love every movie he was part of. I want to believe that he is at peace, and may he rest easy.
It was a very good choice, putting these two together.
Absolutely!!!
Chadwick is 41, Viggo is 60. Neither look their age.
I don't know but they sure look high
60? Man is a fine wine
Chadwick could be early 30s and Viggo could easily be in his late 40s.
Yeah, Aragorn is a Dunedain, you know?
Wow I thought Chadwick was 20s-30s I had no idea
*Viggo is a rare example of a talented guy who is not a smug*
wow
that's even more rare considering he is almost argentinian :v
@Ragnar Skarpsvärd Yeah but he grew up in Argentina.
@Australiantatious im Danish and i hear that he speak Danish with jutland accent his aunt lives here
@Alexander Supertramp He lived in Argentina something like 8 or 10 years of his formative years.
Of course, he is an EEUU-Danish citizen and lived in a lot other countries, but he also has a lot of argentinian cultural features that you will only notice is you speak or can understand him doing an spanish talken intervew. And listen to his accent and cultural references.
You will also notice the difference between his venezuelan and argentinian life experience.
Sorry, but that´s something difficult to notice in wikipedia...
If only all kings were as gracious as these two.
I've always admired their portrayal of their regal characters...your comment reminded me of the connection.
Its so sad that one of kings has passed away. He will always live on through...
well said.
Damn, this is hard to watch. God rest your soul, Chadwick.
This is poignant. I never realized the true meaning of this French origin word, "poignant." until I saw Chadwick Bosman in Black Panther, after he died, and then watched him in all of his interviews, and his amazing speech at his Alma Mater, Howard University, at their graduation, which inspired the entire class, and everyone who has seen it since on RUclips and the Internet. I had seen Chadwick Bosman in his portrayal of Jackie Robinson in 42 and in other films, without realizing he was the same person.
I applaud him and I admire him greatly. I'm aware now, that he did the lion's share of his memorable films, after his diagnosis of Stage 3 Colon Cancer. He hosted SNL and gave numerous interviews in a variety of venues, smiling through them all. He visited children fighting cancer, started a charity, gave an inspiring speech on life to the graduation class at Howard University, his Alma Mater, and he married the woman he loved, after years of a devoted partnership.
We will never know the pain that he endured to accomplish all this. I'm convinced that he was strengthened by his personal faith, his resolve, his fortitude, his endurance, and undeniable grace, in his mission to accomplish as much as he could in those four years, while going through multiple surgeries and chemotherapy. His understood the preciousness of the time he had left, and he lived it to the full. That should challenge us to live more fully and realize how precious every moment is.
@@DeniseEggertwaterlily agreed wholeheartedly. Beautifully well said.
It should inspire you, not make it hard to watch mate.
Live every day like its your last and try to love and respect everyone.
Word
Yes, it is and my heart is so heavy right now. An amazing guy!
After the filming for Lord of the Rings was over, the horses in it who played the main horses (Shadowfax, etc.) were for sale to the big heads of the movie. But Viggo heard about this young woman who was the main trainer but obviously couldn't afford it, but who knew and worked and loved this horse day in day out, but the main studio head also wanted the horse and was going to pay for it. So Viggo went and bought her the horse as a surprise. No strings attached. He just knew that the horse was meant to be with that woman who genuinely loved it. THAT is the essence of Viggo Mortensen. Such a decent human being!
The lady is actually Jane Abbott, Arwen’s Riding Double. 😉
Yeah. Its kinda a great story illustrating "hey I've got all this money, I can solve this problem" perfectly.
He also purchased the horse he used in Hildago because of how much he cared for it.
Thank you for sharing that story. I ❤️ hearing about acts of kindness from actors. It sheds a bright light into the soul of that person as to who they really are inside besides just what you see on screen.
WOW...
So sad to think that Chadwick had cancer during this interview. But that is also a testament to his strength and abilities. #RIP
It really makes you think, in retrospect, when you see Chadwick subtly putting his hand on his chest at different points (probably because he was experiencing chest pain).
Yes. Sad beyond words.
Viggo has not yet received the accolades and recognition he deserves. He is incredibly skilled and talented in his roles.
Yes thank you. He's rarely mentioned when people talk about today's greatest actors.
What do you mean by accolade?
@@sabcam2000 Awards, honors and appreciation. Praise basically.
That's because they don't live in the Hollywood.
He is very private.
Having met Viggo many years ago, I can confirm that he is the nicest man in show business. He is 100% real.
Same. I've met him a few times, and he's the most easy-going, humble dude ever.
Can you believe Chadwick is 41? He looks like he's 21.
He looks minimum 32.
@@sij809 It helps when you keep yourself in great shape. Outside of putting on weight for Green Book Viggo has kept himself in great shape over the years. Boseman definitely has to stay in shape with him always playing superheroes or baseball player types.
@@sij809 Between Jordan's TV and Movie roles he really has a really impressive filmography for someone of his age.
Neither of them look their age. Viggo looks 40. Chadwick looks 25.
@Biggie Smalls the blade trilogy was Wesley Snipes, not Chadwick Boseman
you can tell viggo is a very good listener
@sym he can do whatever. Viggo is the nicest guy ever.
@sym True but i felt that was just because he was so invested in the conversation
Kirch, unlike some.
Huh. I felt he did not leave enough space for Chadwick to fill out his thoughts. Always interrupting. Oh, very smooth, but he dominated. And don't get me wrong - I love Viggo!
@@4adinak I feel so bad for agreeing with you!
I absolutely adore Viggo but he talked more than that he listened, something he didn't do in other interviews (for the ones I've seen)
I wish he would have let Chadwick finish his scentences more...
I feel so bad for saying this about Viggo hahaha.
Two warriors. Two heroes. Two Kings.
Ya
Two Angels as well; they're very pure humans.
*While his life was degenerating, he put his* *own life aside and focused on the* *well-being of other people. Chadwick smiled through it all....*
*And He Never Froze*
That's right...he never froze! 😪
Such a *beautiful* *person* inside and out. This generation has sadly just lost one of the absolute *greatest* of our time.
Rest in Power, Chadwick Boseman ♥️🙏🏾♥️
Never froze
That so sad to watch that in 2020 knowing he is not with us anymore he didn’t look sick at all
Rest in power chadwick you will be dearly missed
In my eyes. This is Aragorn and T’challa. One king died in the events after his story, the other died in real life..
Rest In Peace Chadwick Boseman! Wakanda forever! And..... for Black Panther.
-Charges to fight Cancer-
😪
Mahershala Ali would do an admirable job playing T'Challa in any sequel. I could accept that.
Runnin' Amuk only if he wasn’t playing Blade.
@@runninamuk8947 He's already going to be Blade though
“End? No, death is just another path and one that everyone must take”
WAKANDA FOREVER
King Aragorn and King T'Challa
Sauron would be nervous 😂
Yeah I was going to say it's king Elessar ("Elfstone")
Superbly stated! Clap clap!
I watched this yesterday and was mesmerized by Chadwick's humbleness and whole personality. I told myself that I'll watch his next film in theatre and in less than 24 hrs I read the news of his passing. Great loss. He was at the peak of his career. Rip King. Wakanda forever.
I still can't believe it. What a huge loss.
Ik what you mean. I first encountered him in the Hollywood Reporter Roundtable without ever having seen him act & was struck by his personality too. You can still watch his next film in the theatre: ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’
@@hm2011100 I'll definitely watch that film. Also, I watched the roundtable few months ago and I was blown away by all the actor's wisdom and maybe that's why I didn't feel struck by Chadwick's personality alone I guess. But this interview was one on one and that's why it had that effect on me.
Please watch Message from a King.... They never mention this movie. Awesome!
@@darkchild5983 thank you. I will watch it.
Love Viggo. He has such a calming demeanor.
Yes he is great, but he interrupted alot Chadwick Boseman and he did talk about his son a bunsh.
@@Meri.chari1003 It's difficult for interruptions not to happen in a conversation where both parties are passionate about the subject. And it's not unusual for a parent to talk about their kid and it's not like it wasn't relevant to the subject at hand.

J DL awesome
Chadwick carries such profound dignity, in his eyes, in his voice, in his hands, but not a faked dignity, like rich people's or some celebs' , but a genuine one. Earned. It kills me to see him here, now that I know he was going through so much at the time. He seems so in peace with himself and he emanates strength. Two of my favourite actors together.
Chadwick looked so good here even while going through his battle. Hate that he had to leave us so soon.
To look this healthy and composed while battling with cancer for three years, going on four...I am in awe. He continued to act and preach and do what he loved, up until the end. An inspiration to us all to listen to the call of our passion, honour it, and pursue your purpose. Rest in peace, beautiful soul.
Amen.
👑🙏🌹❤️🕯️
These two men have a peaceful, calming presence & tonality. Both seem to have a humility mixed with confidence and self assurance. Both are well spoken and intelligent. Neither asserts self over the other, they both listen, and engage. Chemistry is beautiful and intriguing. RIP CHAD BOSEMAN. 💔 What a beauitful soul. 😔
Love your take on this conversation -- so true and well said. RIP Chadwick Boseman.

It would have been fun to see them do something together.
so true and they don’t speak over one another. just respectful and nice human beings ❤
Seeing their interview now is different, I can't believe the King of Wakanda is gone 💔
Yeah, it explains why Chadwick Boseman's energy levels might have seemed low, though I felt they had a really strong conversation.
They both look 20 years younger than their real ages.
@Omar Q Absolutely💦😜
I had no idea of Viggo's age until someone mentioned it here 😳
I just thought he was one of those guys who went gray prematurely 🥰
both have great genes apparently - you could never guess their ages just by looking
I love this pairing. Their chemistry is so unforced and intriguing to watch.
yes
I can’t stop watching interviews with Chadwick:(
Me too 😭
That’s all I’ve been watching 😢
It's all part of the grieving process😢
I can not stop watching Chadwick. He was so pleasant I wish I could hve meet him in person.love your laughter.
He was a humble talented man who is truly missed by all. I am still in denial about his passing This one hurts deeply 💔 😢
I like that these guys dont seem like superficial fans of each other, they seem to truly admire one another
Chadwick, you meant the world to us.
Did he pay ur bills too?
@@aharonemanuel4010 Wow...what an insensitive comment. I have younger siblings and his portrayal as Black Panther meant a lot to me, them and many other young people who look like him. His death hit us hard and given what he went through to bring that character to the screen is just what I said, It meant the world to us. If it's not your experience that's OK. No need to mock my comment. You have a good day!
@@tara3870 He would never understand what Chadwick meant to us as people of colour. His portrayal meant everything to me and what he went through to make it as perfect as he did is astounding. He will NEVER be forgotten. Greetings from Nigeria.
You can tell Viggo really watched black panther , I mean he really asked great questions and saw what the film brought to the table.
You can tell Chadwick is such an admirer of Viggo's work. It's great to see
And vice versa!!!!!!!
wow so this is what it's like when a king having conversation to another king
Appreciated that Viggo "went there" with the questions and brought up possibly uncomfortable topics regarding race/culture. There needs to be open discussion/dialogue like these.
Viggo is a true Renaissance man. An actor, poet, publisher, well-read, fluent in several languages, politically astute - open to culture and willing to ask questions. And he likes hockey. Definitely my top choice for person I would want to have dinner with.
Could you give the time that comversation happened ? Don't want to watch the whole thing
@@CooperDianeBob There's a part at 32:55 where he asks a question about Black Panther.
mymy it takes intelligence and maturity to have conversations like this and it’s so refreshing! because there should be a open discussion
Always see this notion of asking 'uncomfortable questions' with regard to race, but I get the sense that what individuals mean when they use this expression, is ask questions that affirm their own pre-held beliefs. Genuinely curious as to how these questions are uncomfortable and any different to the typical Hollywood rhetoric? An actual question that is never asked, which I would like to see Bosman answer, is how much do you think the critic's reception of the film actually reflects the quality of the film?
I can see the body language change from shyness to real interaction between the two and the conversation really took off and I loved the engagement.
They seem to be very similar calm and collected and intellectual just in different bodies. People that are exactly the same either get along very well or try to destroy each other lol.
And they did not want to end the conversation too and we did not want them to stop.
That's a lovely observation.
RIP Chadwick Boseman. What a shocking and devastating loss! God Bless You.
Amen. I'm so happy Viggo got to interview with Chadwick. Two good souls.
It feels so weird to see Lord of the Rings and Marvel talking to each other my childhood and my present!!!

Rest in peace Chadwick. Such a fucking loss man he was so incredible.
Who is here after hearing about Chadwick’s passing 😭😢 RIP legend and beautiful human!
R.I.P. King👑

First time watching this...
I’m white male in my 60’s and thought this man glowed enlightenment He was evolved. I have two friends both colon cancer survivers and black under 40 and also both very special human beings ( as we all are) when I heard of chadwicks death from something so close to home it really shook me. It should not shock it’s extremely prevalent among black YOUNG males but rarely discussed . Chadwick saw it as personal issue which was his choice and right .
Their was something about him you did not need to be black to feel most know him from black panther but he made other epics ( ie a message from the king ) where he through his talent portrayed a really important message consistently . That message well that’s yours to find . A great loss but a spirit like his does not just fade into the abiss . Awards trophies get dusty his memory will be fresh forever .
Well said.
His death brings not just a sense of grief, but anger.
We've lost so many performances we'll never see. He began his career studying to be a director, and he would surely have progressed to behind the camera; and so, there are movies we will never get to see, stories we will never enjoy and touch us.
You put into words exactly what I am feeling. It has been a month and I am still affected by his death. I think that what I am continuing to feel is anger at the lost of what could have been as it relates to his future projects. Such a talented man and it just seems so unfair that he is no longer here.
Seeing Greenbook and Black Panther doing well despite the backlash is great. Viggo deserves best actor
I think that Viggo is definitely getting a nom but I have a feeling that Bale is taking the Best Actor award this year.
@@joemckim1183 hmm I think Bradley might get it for A Star Is Born
@@arshaddahlan It's really going to come down to Cooper, Bale or Mortensen for Best Actor. But I think that Cooper is most likely to leave with Best Director and just a nom for Best Actor.

Meeting of the two kings. What a great interview.
Just taking a moment to appreciate the fashion style of these two men. They both had their own type of casual swag. Rest In Peace & Power, Chadwick!
Like how Chadwick discusses the intensity and physical stresses of filming without once mentioning his illness. Using both actors as examples why do we not have classy, thoughtful leaders like this?

I haven't seen it, but André "3000" Benjamin played Jimi Hendrix in
Jimi: All is by My Side (2013) - and Wood Harris played him in Hendrix (2000)
I bet Andre and Wood both did a really good job - both are underrated talents
not that Chadwick couldn't have done it - I'm sure he would've been great - but often if it's been done recently enough, studios aren't looking to do it again
there are several works of Chadwick's that I haven't seen yet - and others that have yet to come out - once the world is a little less crazy, I plan to take on some of the more heavy subjects - it's already a lot that he's gone
*I'm not ready to be without you 🤴🏾🙅🏾*
Not sure how in the hell he had the strength and energy during a cancer battle to film this and other movies as well. I'm amazed. He also took the time to visit kids with cancer. RIP Sir!

Just so much light in Bosemans eyes the fact that he was battling cancer but yet still radiant . The best action parts of Black Panther was the water scenes when had to fight with no powers.
Viggo seems to have a genuine admiration of Chadwick and his work
