    I always enjoy your videos!! Very informative - and in a nice tempo!
    I think - however - that you misunderstood, what Roland think about, when they talk about "Solo strings" and so on. It's just, that it's a single instrument - the "Ensemble Stings" are multiple instruments: Cb, Cello, Viola and Violin split out across the keyboard. In "Solo Strings" it's a for instance a single violin, that you can play across the keyboard. So it's no surprise, that these sounds are not monophonic - in my opinion.
    Keep up the good work, and I'm looking forward to your next video.

      also it's possible to play multiple tones on one violin if you are skilled enough :-)

    Thanks for this video. I own the fantom 7 for 5 months now, but i'm still struggeling with the 4 parts per tone. It would be great if in the future you could make a video how to work with the synth-engine with the 4 parts. Keep up the good work !

      @@ZTAudio , How to create a sound by using 4 partials. So starting from scratch, how to select 4 different partials. I saw your video 'matrix control'. There you explain the matrix control for the partials. But my question is one step more early: how to create a sound by using 4 partials (how to select and tweak) thanks!

    Thank you for your educational videos. I got a question about tone edit.
    When I choose partial select, it works as a toggle function so I can only select one partial at a time.
    That is unless I hold down the shift button. Only then I can select multiple partials.
    I thought I saw you do a multiple selection without holding down the shift button, am I correct?
    And if so, how can I change this? Thank you and keep up the good work!

    The Supernatural Synth patches are already in the Fantom...They are just in the new zen core engine...all the patches are there

    • @ZTAudio
      @ZTAudio  4 года назад

      I suppose I was not clear enough in stating that the SNS ENGINE is not present, but all the capabilities of SNS are there (and more), as well as the SNS presets which were present in the FA series.

      gotcha...I really hate that they didnt include all of the SN-A sounds. As an FA user I was excited to get the upgrade with all of the SRX expansions and the SN-A from the Integra hopefully they do an upgrade with the rest of the sounds

    SN Synth onto the Fantom - yes please. Only because Im thinking of a Fantom but I have a lot of programmed SN Synth sounds done on my FA for my bands that Im dreading re-programming. Converting or directly importing them into the Fantom from the FA would have me purchasing a Fantom yesterday.....

    • @ZTAudio
      @ZTAudio  4 года назад

      Yeah I also wish there was a "convertor". ALL of the SNS factory presets are on the Fantom, so you don't need to worry about those. But for any custom patches you'll need to painstakingly copy parameters manually.

    • @paulmapp8306
      @paulmapp8306 4 года назад

      @@ZTAudio Do they have the same names as on the FA? I do have quite a few that arnt stock - but maybe 1/3 are and another 1/3 are basically stock with maybe an FX change or slight filter adjustment. If they have the same names so I can find the right ones easily - it will cut my conversion work down by at least 50%.
      A lot of patches I had programmed from scratch on the FA originally, I have already re-programmed on my Peak or Virus Ti2 desktop (easier to get the modulation stuff happening ont those).

      @@ZTAudio thank you for replying. can you please tell me which sound i can try. I am suspecting i might have a problem with aftertouch. I went through many sounds and none had aftertouch. @@amrsbadawi Try Scene "A022:In The Mist" or the Tone "0228:X-Mod N Pole".
      Either of those use aftertouch to open the filter.
      So far as how to "activate" it for a specific sound" ... that's now how this works. It's some simple, single thing that you turn on or off, or "activate". You've got to have a pretty good idea what you want aftertouch to control. Most commonly you'd use it for filter, LFO or volume, but it;s assignable to all sorts of useful things. It sounds a bit like you are in the very first steps of learning how to use this machine. Take it one step at a time, read the manual page-by-page and try out everything as you read long. You'll get it.

    All in all it doesn't matter
    The supernatural acoustic sounds (piano , rhodes , strings etc...) are just pcm waves but with some clever scripting under the hood( like playing legato on bass doesn't retrigger etc..)iow articulations .
    They called this behaviour modelling but it's nothing more then just midi scripting that smoothly change samples layers under the hood
    Roland has been rehashing the same shit all over again and inventing new terminology every few years to further obfuscate things

  • @ET2carbon
    @ET2carbon Месяц назад

    You keep saying PCM when you talk about the instruments in supernatural and zen-core. Those are models, not waveforms or sampled PCM.

    • @ZTAudio
      @ZTAudio  Месяц назад

      That's not strictly true.
      ZenCore uses sampled PCM waveforms at its core, although filters, modulations, etc. are modeled.
      Supernatural uses a combination of samples and fairly sophisticated scripted behaviors, which amounts to a combination of sampling and modeling techniques.
