Hope you guys loved and enjoyed Singapore year end festivities and everything. Hope you guys come back again and again. Singapore never disappoint. See you guys again! Your videos are superb! Enjoyed! Cheers
Loved this hour long video! As an international student from Singapore now staying in San Diego.. I've been away from home for 4 years now, this video hits hard. And also, funny and exciting getting to see POVs from both as a local's and a Westerner's. Hahaha. You guys make such a cute couple too. I hope you guys enjoyed your stay! :)
Hi, glad you are enjoying the city. However, can I ask why would you consider $50 a night as steep? What is the expected rate that is acceptable? Would you expect these rates while in Europe or Canada or any developed countries? Just asking as I travel a lot and most of the time, I cannot get these rates and I saw many travelogs who said the hotels in Singapore is expensive. Yet, I pay more if I go to Europe or North America. Just wondering as to the thought process here. Thank you~
Hi! In all honesty, I think we were just a little shocked and naive after spending so long in other SE Asian countries. This hotel was one of the three cheapest we could find, so at $50/night we were shocked. But you're definitely right, in Europe we spent at minimum $50 for a hotel as well, and back home I can't even imagine finding something for that price! In comparison to the rest of SE Asia, hotels in Singapore cost significantly more on average (we could usually find 50+ options at $15-25/night in other countries). We had to search for a while to find this hotel, and there were very few options, none in great locations, so that's why we were so surprised (although expecting it). But you're right, compared to elsewhere it's not too bad!
@HannahGodard Singapore is the Only 1st world country in Southeast Asia country.Comparison is not fair with our neighbouring countries.Comparison should be with the other Ist world countries.Currency on par with the rest of 1st world country.Surely you can spread ur money at the other Southeast Asia with your currency but not in Singapore.Just like singaporean who goes to Malaysia or to Asean countries, with our highest currency we spend lavishly but not when we holidaying in Europe or Canada.
@@HannahGodardAs a Malaysian working in Singapore, I agree with the above commentor. Singapore is first world, it is unfair to compare its prices to other second and third world SE Asian countries.
I do have to say though, the toilet cleaners in malls need to improve. Some taps never clean properly, can see mildew and mould. Also people like to rinse their mouths in the toilet sinks can see their food scraps.
@@HannahGodardThe water is potable but do give a wipe with a tissue before drinking from the tap. Or you can try to find if there are any water coolers nearby. Also you can request free cup of water from fast food restaurants like the big M
We were surprised by how inexpensive some things were! Like they said, food in hawker centres was really affordable, and so was public transit. The hotels were definitely a little bit more expensive.
@@HannahGodard you are totally right . you can go for budget hotel so it would be much cheaper. Foods here is expensive definitely is a rumours. There is a lot cheaper food from 3.50 sing dollars. like chicken rice ..noodles etc..But if you want to eat at MBS ,then different story dude
We chatted with those people picnicking under the bridge. Most of them are Nancy's and maids who are from the Philipines and working in Singapore. Sunday is the maids day off.
you guys so need umbrellas in Singapore, besides shielding you from the elements, you can use them to reserve seats at your favorite hawker center lol.
Welcome to Singapore 🇸🇬 🙏 Although singapore is like small island 🏝 but u can find all kind delicious food here n also many part of singapore u can go around even at midnight .here there many many foreigners workers, 👳👷 😅 Blessing 🙏 hope u guys enjoy your trip here.
Because Singapore has 4 main races so their first language is English. Their school teaches in English too. And they can switch between English and Singlish 😂
the people under the bridge aren't locals, they are foreign domestic workers on their Sunday off
Singapore is such a cool city.

You can only see locals in shopping malls. The ones sitting on floors are domestic workers from neighboring countries.
😂 you phrase liddat very funny
@@kaiyin3842 LOL. It's true though. Singaporeans dont like sitting on the floor outside. It's hot and humid...we need air-conditioning.
You don’t have to pay for bottles of plain water. U can drink directly from any tap in n Singapore.
We got so used to buying bottles we didn't even think about the fact that we may be able to drink the tap water haha!

Singapore looks so cool, is it expensive as everyone says?
No not really. depends on whether you know where to😀 look for cheaper foods in certain hawker centers.

Chanai = Chennai ( the place from where Indian migrants originated) -

Those are not locals bt foreign workers having a day off spending precious times with their friends & relatives.

Bangkok is definitely better than any other SE Asian city, including Singapore and KL.
Thats your opinion 🙄
@@kaiyin3842 Nah, judging by tourism numbers. Bangkok is the most visited city on earth for the last 10 years, there's a reason for that.
