The weirdest thing I find about this is that turning the classic Pac-Man into a first person horror game is actually a genius idea and if done seriously, it could be an actually horrifying experience. Writing this I now also realize that something like that already exists in Dark Deception. But if I remember correctly none of the levels use the varied enemy AIs like Pac-Man so that could be fun. Also three ideas for the current version: 1. As mentioned by someone else in the comments (this isn't my idea, just collecting it here), making Clyde randomly use the sounds of the other ghosts would make him more menacing as he would be scaring the player into thinking there's something actually dangerous around. 2. Whenever the map is opened, it wouldn't actually show the ghosts but instead there would be a "blip" like a soundwave every second or so wherever the closest ghost is. Now the map would only tell the player the location of the closest ghost but not live, only every second or so, nor would it tell the player the direction or color of the ghost. 3. Whenever the player "dies", make the camera quickly but not instantly snap at the ghost, giving a final "jumpscare" if the player was running away or if the player didn't have a chance to see the ghost at all, for example if it came around the corner and the player didn't notice.
a cool idea for a ghost's sound would be to make them make a sound while they're chasing the player, but the sound stops when they get too close or if they stop chasing the player. This makes it so that the player doesn't know if they are safe or not, and would likely make it scarier
The final bit with Pac-man as the monster made me think of all the spaceship interpretations. Imagine if the dots were interpreted as ceiling lights and the maze gets progressively darker as he destroys them. The power dots being something like a power center or something and everything goes dark when he gets them.

Just finished having an existentail crisis and completely rethinking my entire career/college degree, but I'm still sat here cackling at CodeBullet f*cking up PacMan in the best ways.
I'm in my late 50's and I remember when Pac-Man originally came out. I also remember when Doom first came out. And I was playing both at their release. This has a bit more potential than what you actually realise mate. If you put more work into the graphics, sounds, and increased the fear, whilst taking the comedic element out, you'd have something that would be quite enjoyable to play. It would be very interesting to see what the gameplay would be like if it was developed without the VR, and instead for the desktop. Quake maybe? Good work btw.

Those ghosts make me think of the Cores that were attached to GLaDOS in portal one. Yeah, the one that’s talking about making cake and some other ones that are weird like this one that sounds like it’s a curious child sort of or whatever and I imagine this is what all the cores basically going off and GLaDOS‘s head would feel like.
This is exactly what I needed at 2:30 in the morning. Thank you papa Code Bullet
EST gang 🤙🏿
Eyyyyyyy, EST gang!
Now we need a large streamer to play this for 10 hours
I've got to say the primal fear those sound alerts the ghosts gave me was positively disturbing on true horror game levels. Well done.
I think the way the ghosts work can be simplified into blinky and inky being chaser, pinky flanking you, and clyde being a bit of a roamer.
Game dev stuff is honestly pretty good too, you manage to make it just as hilarious as your attempts at teaching AI 🤣
If you had a map that doesn’t show the ghosts it would make it so the horror aspect still exists while also showing the player his progress. And i totally would play this
Bro we need a full version of this, this is fire 9:34
This level of Clyde disrespect will not be tolerated
Just finished having an existentail crisis and completely rethinking my entire career/college degree, but I'm still sat here cackling at CodeBullet f*cking up PacMan in the best ways.
E
Okay i gotta say it: Your videos always were a 10/10. Now with the dance sequences they are 15/10 minimum. Love every second of every video!
There he is, and perfect time for me to watch this just before bed
Good night bro, I just woke up to this
I'm in my late 50's and I remember when Pac-Man originally came out.
@14:30 Live Action DBZ is like the Ark in Raiders of the Lost Ark. "Whatever you do, don't open your eyes!" As the unlucky ones who saw have their faces melt off.
9:40 is like one od those memes that are crispy fried and overlaid with every sound. True horror
Super psyched to see you at Opensauce! Just checked out the lineup again and it’s gotten so much better in the last few weeks!
9:27 bro was trying to appeal to that 20% of his audience 😭
Where Source? :3
Release schedule was 11:30 at night for me. And I live on the western side of the US
Dancing Code Bullet is something I didn’t know I needed in my life until now
One of the better videos throughout the years - less AI and i do miss some of the more heavy AI stuff but this was just a great balance of fun and also entertaining accomplishment and a good game at the end. great job
11:42
Why does this feel like something you'd see in an actual nightmare?
i love how Clyde actually has importance in the game for the pacman part
9:03 Pinky's sound could've been "The missile knows were it is at all times. it knows this because it knows where it isn't.."
12:00 why did that actually make me jump
Yes, please make this downloadable for us! I would love to play this with friends lol
8:23 “time to handle the most important part of a horror game”
I got a fucking burger king whopper whopper ad jump scare right after he said this
Makes fun of Clyde, but gets murked by Clyde.
The pacer test... now THAT is true horror
Fun Pac-Man facts:
Due to a localization error, lots of Pac-Man media in the 80s and 90s outside of Japan had Blinky and Clyde’s colors, names, and personalities swapped.
(For clarification, Blinky is supposed to be the Douchey red one, and Clyde is the orange moron)
Pac-Man’s original name was “Puck Man” but it was changed to keep vandals from changing it to “Fuck Man” before release.
Bonus retro game fact:
The creator of Space Invaders has never beaten the second level of it.
CB never ceases to amaze me with his du- I mean BRILLIANT ideas
13:07 Literally was just every analog horror video jumpscare. (Missed Opportunity. Should've probably added a black box over some low quality image of someone lying down.)
Been a viewer for a long time now and I just wanted to say I love the videos, they never cease to entertain. Keep up the great work
It'd be dope to see an alternative VR mechanic in which movement was controlled with teleports to the dots. The player might strategically leave gaps or try to jump long distances. Could make for some very tense gameplay!
14:39 I watched this near dinner table and my family is asking why my phone is moaning
You are dead at that point
You listening to something around people without headphones?
@@limeadeTVFr, if my AirPods die I turn off my phone
I want to see Markiplier play this with no context before hand lmao
We do not complain when code bullet uploads, we simply accept his offering of content
9:09 stop giving me flashbacks.
Would be cool if you could make a maze-generating AI that could both make and solve a maze of varying difficulties with a click of a button!
thats like one of the easiest things to do
"Everything is AI"
You don’t need ai to do this it is that’s what path finding algorithm are for.
That's a productive solution to a real CS problem making it not suitable for this channel
I think someone over here is into micromice :D
