It was a great return, despite the difficult controls and flying dialogues. Now this game really deserve a home version and a sequel Mr.Sakurai. Please.
Who’s watching in 2020? Today makes 10 years since this amazing game was announced and it still gives me goosebumps, thank you Mr. Sakurai for expanding upon and reviving a series as well as letting the developers have fun with the writing and voice acting! From the looks of this trailer it looks like this game was going to be a Wii game at first but was moved to the 3DS. An HD Port would look so sick, just compare the 3DS and PS4 Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance Versions together and you’ll see what I mean.
Development actually started prior to the 3ds being made, but Nintendo wanted the game to be released for the new system. So the development team had to work off of Wii’s because there was still no 3ds to work off of
tse kit oh I didn't actually like Kid Icarus until Smash for Wii U came out. I don't think I knew anything about any Nintendo titles before that, so when I went into Brawl after playing both Kid Icarus Uprising and Smash 4, it was weird.
Happy 3rd Year Anniversary Kid Icarus uprising, I remember watching the trailer for the first time in 2010 and getting hype over this game because they don't have much games in the kid Icarus franchise so that's what drew me to this game and also hearing that Mr. Sakurai was developing it made it all the more better.
I remember all the hype there was around this game and I was like... meh. Then it came out, I got it on the first day because I was near the store and... might as well get it and actually use my 3ds right? I never expected this to be my all time favourite game but I guess not expecting it and not knowing anything about the game (I didn't even watch this trailer in fact I don't think I watched e3 in 2010).
Check the graphics, they also improved a lot compared tot he trailer ;). Really shows that, unlinke Sony and Microsoft, when Nintendo shows you a trailer it usually will look the same in the final product or even better ;).
I know, it's so weird. Also, it appears that the game is running on an emulator of sorts, all of the 3d assets are there, but it seems like much higher resolution
Differences: -Pit definitely has a different, terrible VA, Palutena might just have a worse performance here, but her VA sounds the same -Different reticle -Way more gamma -When starting a level, Pit usually has his weapon visible as he dashes toward the door, but not here -Orne has a broader colour palette here -The quote "Bark like a dog!" when fighting Twinbellos is never heard in the final game -The logo here is plain black and white, whereas it has a gradient blue in the final
While everyone is complaining about the voice acting. Can we appreciate that Sakurai and NOA decided to change the entire script to be a lot more comedic? Palutena was too serious for my taste compared the the final release. She talks like a goddess...like she should! But I am glad the team went ahead and made her more human and speak more natural. It made Palutena’s character so much more enjoyable to me.

When I first saw a trailer for Kid Icarus uprising I thought it looked amazing! I bought the game, better than I could ever imagine! I never doubted the game for a second!
This trailer had me more hyped for a game and a (then upcoming) game system than I have *EVER* been in my life. I was in utter disbelief in 2010 that the upcoming 3DS would pull this off; it looked like a Wii game (extremely impressive for a 2011 handheld, even if the title itself didn't launch until 2012). Also, knowing that Nintendo was starting to make 1st-party titles with full voice acting had me thinking I died and ascended to heaven. *AND THE MUSIC, OMG THE MUSIC ♥*

I decided to play this last year and now it's my favourite game ever, heck I've even started to main Pit in Brawl, and I want to main both Pit and Palutena in Smash 4 The delivery of the lines in this is pretty meh though. The graphics look so unpolished compared to the final game, and don't even get me started on those voice actors. This trailer makes the game look pretty lame. Good thing it's not. This game is one of the best on the 3ds, and it's interesting to see how far it came from this lackluster beta.
I Deadass remember watching this back in 2010 it's amazing how fast time flies. I also recongnized the beta elements that were removed from the final game. Now Smash 4 on 3DS is out so we got that from Sakurai onward to getting smash 4 on Wii U.
@hipNds Contrary what people might believe that he was only in 1 main game, Pit was in a Gameboy game called 'Of Myths and Monsters'. The rest of his apperances, however, were cameos. Still, it's great to have him back.
Thanks a lot for giving your opinion.Anthony Del Rio gave an enjoyable teenage voice for Pit and for Dark Pit he gave a dark and mature voice for the character.You know in the Japanese version both Pit and Dark Pit are voice by a girl in Kid Icarus Uprising and SSBB.Her name is Minami Takayama and she's also Detective Conan's Japanese voice.That also means that Minami Takayama will voice Pit once again in Super Smash Bros 3DS & Wii U. =)

The reticle looks different,the logo also looks different,and The Power of Flight was originally called the Miracle of Flight.Let me know if I missed anything.Maybe Beta64 could do a video on it.

I personally like this Palutena's voice, it's more what I expected her to be, but I guess the new "happier" voice is pretty good too. Also yeah, Pit's voice in game is better.
I'm so happy that Antony Del Rio is the official voice of Pit in English.That boy is so talented and his voice fits perfectly to that adorable angel. *-* His voice is sexy,touching,wonderful,incredible,special,emotional and memorable for me.Definitely the best English cast & Antony Del Rio's voice sounds way better than Troy Lund who was supposed to be Pit's English voice in Kid Icarus Uprising. =D
They really be recommending this hidden gem after so many years, I remember preordering it from Best Buy and getting that 3ds stand that came with it. I even remember when this was in development for the wii! Here’s hoping they make a sequel for switch cus honestly this game is one of my favourite 3DS games, only game I had for a few months and it’s all I played.

Fun Fact: Kid Icarus Uprissing was being developped at the same time as the original 3ds so "Sora" (the developpers that is) didn't have a hardware to work with, so they put this together on the wii's hardware, that's why the resolution is better and the riticle seams more precisse and wii esque.

I wanted a 3ds immediatley so in 2012ish i got one and picked up this game as my first. I love this game and love it to death its amazing and dont let anyone tell you otherwise. Looking back at this trailer pit sounds like he got a soar throat and palutena sound like she dont care. Models looked unpolished and murky but the camera view looked wieder and the classic"Bark Like a dog" was what i waited for when i got the final game, the graphical jump of the final game is amazing
I actually found the controls on this game quite natural, after a few customisation of the controls, do that first when you buy the game and you'll have a great time! It has a ton of unlockables that keeps the game with fresh challenges in mind, however, Mario Kart 7 also has a lot of plus features, and gave me 150 hours of gameplay time until I got bored, I'm sure that Kid Icarus will be better though will all the unlockables :D Remember to fiddle the the controls though I must stress :)
