      Maybe so,... But what I would have had is about three or four 8 foot long round fence post and maybe one other helper or two but really I could have loaded this into that same trailer by myself using a a skid steer in no time flat. All he needed to do was place one right in front of the burnt out cat get it going a couple of feet , place another and just keep going, the winch on the trailer with a snatch block would have been all a guy needed to get the job done , and fast.
      My brother built a 8 by 8 she'd on the one side of his corner lot, it eventually became part of the garden so he needed to move it, I was only 14 or so, his In laws were amazed at the ability to simply role the shed across the yard using round fence post, once we jacked the shed up and got the post under it ,it just rolled were he wanted it to go. We just had to take them from the back end and place them in front as we went ... work smarter ...😎👍

    🔧🔧 Hank concerned for your transmission since you were pushing on it pretty hard in PARK ..you can put so much stress on what I call a parking pin and snap it off. You might consider setting the E brake ,leave the tranny in neutral that way you won’t stress the parking pin - learned this from a trucker decades ago- awesome to see neighbor helping neighbor -say hey to Gina from JD, enjoy the channel, keep on keeping on

    The CAT 299D WT. is 11464 lbs. , That is more than your winch can easily pull. You might want to add some snatch blocks to lessen the load.

    I cleaned 3 inches of oily leaves out of the belly pan of my Cat 951C. I was happy found that crap in there so I could clean it out. It looked like a real fire hazard to me. This guy lost a nice little skid steer and Andrew C. up in Saugerties, NY lost a really nice excavator up in flames last year.

    Calvin has a really good mechanical mind. He sees the problem and quickly works out a resolution, like when he was telling you how to get the forks properly under the machine while also getting your tracks partially on the ramps, which helped tremendously and it appeared that it was much easier to move the equipment onto the trailer.

    For any tracked machine...you can get it to freewheel by taking the final drive cover off (have to drain the oil first obviously) and take the sun gear (center gear/shaft) our of the planetary set and put the cover back on (to keep clean). The tracks will then move freely. A little messy but easier than a lot of the alternatives...and next time bring some plywood to put over the ramps and end if trailer...that Cat would have been on the trailer in minutes if you had something smooth to drag it on

    • @markpashia7067
      @markpashia7067 20 дней назад

      I was thinking two ramp lengths of 2x12 should be part of that trailer to cover those grip angles when you need to drag stuff. Those are made to stop you from sliding when loading normal, so yeah, when you want to slide they need covered.

    There wasn't no bad attitude in this. As Phill would say, what are you thinking? As i mentioned before get you some 4x4"s cut to length and put them in between the tandems of the trailer tires to prevent it from moving when loading and unloading. When loading angle from rear to front and opposite when unloading.

    You need to get a couple of GMRS radios. Quite possible you have a free to use repeater in your area that will extend the coverage many, many miles.
    $35 for a license (10 yrs), and you can get great radios for around $25 each. I paid $17 For Baofeng UV- 5RPT'S online. When working in close proxcimity use a local TAC (talk around channel) goes quite far with out hitting a reapeter .

    I always have a philips single pin connector from my truck to the trailer to hook up direct battery power from my truck.
    This way the trailer battery always stays charged, and has no problem running winches or hydraulics.
    If you keep running a winch on less than a full charge, the winch/hydraulic moror will get hot and burn up.
