    Loved working with Coyote and Rhett when I had the privilege of being “Deacon Dave the Breakfast Slave” from January 1990 - January 1994, so this was just a bit after I was let go. Coyote still called me “Deac” for years afterward. Loved Coyote and Rhett and Buck Naked, our original (and favorite) traffic reporter. We even won Billboard Magazine mid-market CHR morning show of the year in 1992. And I LOVED writing comedy for the show and for New Radiostar. What’s up, Ham? Good times and memories. ❤ Oh yeah, and I emptied the ashtray a LOT 😊

    I remember Coyote as early as his Kicks 104 days. Truly a Nashville legend.

    I was a young boy when you came to Y107. You were influential on my decision to listen to Y107 on my "jambox". I carried that thing and all 12 D batteries it used on my shoulders and listened to your show. those were the days! The 80s were a great decade.

    I remember the night I picked up Coyote downtown and took him home. I let him smoke in my truck...he burned a hole in my floor mats! Damn it! I still loved him and miss him though.

    WOW, this guy was REALLY talented not to mention really good looking. Can't believe he's smoking a cigarette in the studio. But man Coyote has an amazing radio voice and a really great, smart radio personality....did i mention he;s very good looking? I love how he made prolonged eye contact with the camera. Also, I should mention it was nice seeing the harmony displayed among the different members of his morning zoo...they seem to complement each other's talent!

    I was on the air at WQQK-FM (92Q) during this era. Sam Howard, then owner of 92Q had so many P.D.s in and out the door to try to compete with Y-107. My mentor and friend, Michael St. John programed 92Q in the early 90s as a Hit-Black/Urban-Dance Format for a short time with a sound to draw white listeners. That is what Mr. Howard wanted. While at 92Q, some of us were offered to go to Y-107. I didn't even respond to the offer because my Dad, William E. "Bill" Bailey and my mom, (Sandra) were close friends to Mr. Howard and his wife, and also Michael St. John, who was the man who took sleepy 104.5 WHIN-FM and created "Kicks 104" in 1978, and WWKX-FM 104.5 became a overnight sensation with Coyote, and Real Top 40/CHR Radio! I stayed at 92Q until the last week of October of 1993 when me and my parents bought the old WWGM-AM, Nashville, which we moved it to Gallatin, TN, and signed on as Magic 1560, WMRO, and it's still going strong as of this posting. Y-107 gave 92Q a hell of a ride. I had a vision of Clear Channel and Cumulus coming in the early 90s, so that is why I left to just own a small AM Station in my hometown. By The Way, Yea, I am in my 50s today and I can not stand ""The River"! Maybe me and my wife, Leslie, are just getting old. I'm 3 years older than my wife. Myself, my Wife, and My Mom still own Magic 1560 in Gallatin as of this posting. I love all of the 70s and some early 80s Oldies.

    Is there a bit a reverb on the output from the control room? Sounds like it.

    Who was doing the voice of Ronald Reagan? Sounded a great deal like Jim Gossett who does voices for The Kimmer on WYAY NewsRadio 106.7 Atlanta.

    The beginning of the end. Top 40 radio was in decline around that time. This aircheck must have occurred after that awful short-lived rock-40 experiment. The zoo crew would soon leave, and the station would change to that stupid River with Proud Wench in the morning.

    Coyote smoking in the studio. That room must have been unbearable. Was the control panel yellow?

    • @kauzpayne2
      @kauzpayne2 3 года назад

      back then you could smoke in the studio and the room was ok. and the conrtol panel was not yellow. {this was before it became corporate}
      in the frist studio before they moved in the new studio they made fake hole in the wall and then added a cowboy boot had kicked the hole .then they would have celebs sign the wall when they visited the station. { was in the first building y107 was in}.
      now radio is very corporate and alot as changed. { there no smoking allowed and you can not get away with things that you could when this video was made.}
