Very helpful--thanks. Only difference with my wife's 2018 340i is that you have to press the wiper stalk DOWN and hold instead of up to get the wipers to sweep into the service position.
Agree with another comment. Press on the wiper stalk on the right hand side. Also, (maybe specific to my model of wagon f30), you press the lever down (not up as stated in the video). Also might be good to note that when turning the ignition on and off you don't depress the break so as to prevent the car from starting.
Well he did just turn the ignition on & off he didnt Mention to turn on the "ENGINE" on & off ...but i know where you're coming from, Especially new BMW owners (Noobies) who dont know much about BMW's or cars in general i guees it needs to be noted 🤷♂️
At the start of the video, it was stated you lift the indicator (turn) lever up. It’s NOT the indicator but the WIPER lever you need to operate. Worth noting that the lever should be pressed DOWN and not UP too (not sure if this is specific to UK/European spec vehicles) but it threw me for a while until I tried pressing up AND down!
Fantastic and helpful. The only thing I would add is when placing the wipers in the change position, spray the windshield down first with Invisible Glass or something similar, to avoid running the wipers on the dry windshield. This avoids marring the glass in any way. Do the same before returning them back to the down position.
Thanks Bryan, I’ve always wondered how it’s done and was afraid to change windshield wipers on my own. I didn’t know how easy it is. Great video, a lot of new BMW owners will look for that.
Hey Keis -- In 2017 the F30 came with a "regular" turn signal, that didn't return to neutral, when active. Do you know if there's a way to put that in 2012 - 2016 F30s? Could be a video idea!!
Brian, and Kies folks, thank you for sparing me an extra bad day of trying to install the replacement windshield wiper blades on my f30. With your attention to the BMW ownership detail, you make owning a BMW a much user friendly and pleasant experience. Keep up the good work.
2018 BMW 340i Auto wipers. I had to press DOWN on wiper control stalk towards the "mist 1x" toggle and hold to get wipers to service position. Pushing up did nothing with vehicle off.
Thanks man I just learn how to do mine I didn’t have to go to the dealer to get it done I just bought the same one u using on the video and pull off my phone go to RUclips and start watching your video on the dealer lot and I did it myself thank you 😊
Thanks for posting this video! It's been a few years since I last changed my wipers and can never remember how to raise the the arms. And be careful with the spring loaded arms once you remove the blade like he said - I learned that the hard way on my E92 🙁
Bryan, this was very helpful, thank you. Even the Bentley manual for the F30 makes no mention of the wiper stalk trick to park the wipers in the vertical direction.
It's not the turn signal lever that you press up. It's the windshield wiper lever (or stalk, NOT stock as in your description) to the right of the steering wheel. The turn signal lever is on the left.
Extra info for 2017 340i When you pull up on the wiper arm, it stops as normal, then pull up just a little bit more and it will pass a detent an go a bit farther. Hit that spot and they instantly cycle up and stop.
Can someone help me? As seen in the video brian's windshield wiper stalk has the automatic button and light whereas on my f30 320d 2013 i have a rain sensor built on the windshield but i have a wiper stalk on which the automatic mode button only serves for intermittent wiping and the wheel is to set the speed of wiping (no green light). Is there a possibility of coding automatic wiping and do i have to change the stalk? Thanks.
Hello Brian, what do you know about the f30 335is catching fire. I m really concerned about this and thinking of selling my f30, it is really scary to think that my car can catch fire and especially that it is parke in my garage under my house. I know there is a recall and it applies to older bmw. My car is 2013 335is. I would very much apreciate your opinion on this topic. Thank you !
Hey Brian I have a 2015 335i with around 37,000 miles on it and it looks like the windshield has been sand blasted. Are F30 windshields extremely fragile? Did this happen to yours?
I have tried up and down and neither work. 2018 435d. With the ignition off, the wipers don't move at all. If the ignition is on the wipers move but don't stop. Maybe it's a timing thing? Anybody got any ideas?
Hey Brian...what if you do this trick and your wipers still don’t stay in the vertical position? Mine just keep wiping back and forth like normal. I literally followed this video step by step and it’s not stopping in the up position. I have a 2014 328i N20 model. Is there something I’m missing or could it be a coding issue?
I wonder who decided this was better way to do this than adding additional line in the car setup menu: 'wipers service position'. Just like Audi did in MMI. Same with the passenger mirror changing its position while in reverse. Why in the hell can't this be turn on/off from iDrive? Once again, Audi did it in MMI and you don't have to Google it.
Tbh when I was 5 years old my moms trucks taillights got stolen from our apartment complex overnight. So it may seem like a over engineered wiper set up, but no one can come at night and easily step your wiper blades. 🤷🏻♂️ i who knows what people need and will try to steal.
Most EPIC Windshield wiper blades change on RUclips.
Very helpful--thanks. Only difference with my wife's 2018 340i is that you have to press the wiper stalk DOWN and hold instead of up to get the wipers to sweep into the service position.
Thanks a ton for sharing that! I almost gave up and then found your comment 😌

This comments saved my life. Was pressing up on my 320i and it wasn’t working..

I decided to try pushing down and hold.
It worked, and then i read this comment.
If it’s not up, it’s down.
Thanks been stuck on this for 15 mins

Hold wiper lever down 10sec if it does not work pushing up.
Best BMW wiper video yet for my car. Love the secret wiper access setting! Great Job!
Yes previous owner of my f30 has scratched the hood. Been scared to swipe the ice off lately but now i know the trick! awesome thanks
Thanks. Just changed them on my 17 330i with your assist.
Thanks. Found this video too little to late. Scratched my hood already 😭
4 yrs and I just searched this. Thank you kies❤️😈

Like always, Bryan and Kies Motorsports saves the day! Thanks Bryan!!!
I had to turn my wiper lever down on my 2020 F32 and this worked perfectly!
On the newer ones like my 2018 340, it is a hold *down* the wiper control arm. The Bosch ICON 24OE / 19OE were easy perfect fit snap on
Thanks Kies great video, I was so confused when I tried to lift my wopers
Perfect video. To the point. Even has the part number.
Holy crap! I’ve driven BMWs FOR 4 years and I never knew this.
That’s is why there is an Owners Manual
Thanks for posting this video! It's been a few years since I last changed my wipers and can never remember how to raise the the arms. And be careful with the spring loaded arms once you remove the blade like he said - I learned that the hard way on my E92 🙁
Thank you for posting this video. I impressed my wife by following your instruction to the letter. Respect!
i just bought a BMW 340 and i will be watching this channel like crazy
Where was this video two wiper changes ago? :) This will save me a lifetime of grief. Thank you!
Thank you so much ! I followed your youtube instructions and couldn't be easier to install as 1,2, 3! Now I don't have to ask my guy friends
I always have the dealership do them, but don't have time to go over there. Brian can't thank you enough! Love your videos Broski ✌️😎 👍
Thanks. Saved me a few hours.
Very helpful guys, thank you.
Thanks Brian... easy..well explained...!
Bryan, this was very helpful, thank you. Even the Bentley manual for the F30 makes no mention of the wiper stalk trick to park the wipers in the vertical direction.
Wow I did it in 2 min. Thanks
Very handy video. Will be changing my F32 wipers this week. Thanks and keep up the great content!
Great video!
Note: if it doesn’t work pressing up, try pressing down
Thank you for the video helped me with my Supra
Thanks! I've had the dealer change em as part of the maintenance plan, but now the plan has expired, something as simple as this was an unknown!
It's unnecessarily complicated so you go to the dealer, lol
@@KiesMotorsports ... of course, more money in their pocket.... hehe...
Simple and straight to the point, thank you!
Thanks!! Saved my 4 series hood!
Cheers fella. Simple vid but very helpful nevertheless.
So we only need OEM wipers? Not regular ones from Michelin or other brands?
BMW Teacher 😎
So glad i watched this first
It's not the turn signal lever that you press up.
It's the windshield wiper lever (or stalk, NOT stock as in your description) to the right of the steering wheel.
The turn signal lever is on the left.
Got a 2018 328d. For some reason on this one you have to hold the lever down and not up. Same process otherwise.
Nice and easy. Love it
Thanks for sharing, very informative
Cheers buddy for the complete tip
Awesome video, thank you so much. You've saved me over $100.
Extra info for 2017 340i

Brian can you do a video showing us how to update our idrive and navigation system? please!!!!!!
New to your channel , I'll be getting my f30 2012 in the next few weeks
Awesome. Thank you!
THIS is the video you're looking for.
Thank you so much, this makes it much easier.
Great vid
Haha this was great. That must've been the nicest EBR made of wipers :D
Can someone help me?

Love your videos. Can I get a m sport bumper for my f30?
Hello Brian, what do you know about the f30 335is catching fire. u r a good man sir
good to point out that on my F30 330ix the lever has to be pulled down, actually, instead of pushed up
Hey Brian I have a 2015 335i with around 37,000 miles on it and it looks like the windshield has been sand blasted. Are F30 windshields extremely fragile? Did this happen to yours?
Thank you!
Hey Brian! Could you please do a tutorial on a subwoofer install? Thank you !!
do they come in carbon fiber!?!? :D:D
YES!!!
@@KiesMotorsports ahahahaha :D
Is it the same procedure to get the wipers to the service position on a 2013 F25 X3? I can't get mine to work.
Goood looks bro I appreciate this video so damn much
Couldn't think of any one elseto ask. Questions, I need you're help. My windshield wiper is won't stop running?
2015 f30
I changed mine 2 months ago and didn't know that as well. and why is F32's blade an inch shorter than F30's but $10 dollars more expensive...?
Thank you.
Thank you
do i have to use the bmw rubber inserts?
Perfect, thanks
Supper video, just too late I found this video. Today I damaged the glass my F11😢.
Thanks
Tank you mate😁
Bmw always over engineering things....i love it
@LAK of Brwn - well said. I've got one that's 10yo & what a PITA even the simplest of things, has to be! Back to Honda when I've had enough!
Note that you must push the wiper stock past the “click” or point of resistance in order for this to work . FYI
Not gonna lie, this is a first for me, and it's funny how easy that was.
I don't have those little tabs. My BMW 320i xdrive does not have wiper blades that look like this at all.
Wow i didn't knew about button combination🤦♂️
U the man
Haha 😎
awsome video as always !
I bought the car with paint damage to the hood because previous owner doesn't know how to change it the proper way like this.
Android Auto for f series bmw (NBT id6) plzzz...
And also controllable with steering wheel's voice button
doing this today
Not sure if it was just me but I had to hold the lever down rather than up
In Europe version u pull down the lever :)
Hi Brian, my washer spray is waiming way too low, any suggestion on that?
Use a pick tool (or something similar), stick it in the sprayer and just aim it up a little.
I have tried up and down and neither work. 2018 435d. With the ignition off, the wipers don't move at all. If the ignition is on the wipers move but don't stop. Maybe it's a timing thing? Anybody got any ideas?
Don't hit any paddle, not even the brake.
I just changed mine and my acceleration increased
I tried to make my windshield go up it worked the first time now it doesn’t can I get some help?
Wipers*
Did you end up figuring it out. This button combo doesn’t work on mine either 18’ m4 comp.

after working on this for an hour the video is NOT correct for the F32 LCI. For the LCI your need to press DOWNWARDS
I'd replace my wiper blades more often if they weren't so expensive! 😉😂
I've followed the link ,does not fit my f32😭
My f32 you have to hold down if anyone was confused like I was.
Doesn't work on my lci...
His names Brian. Once again his names Brian.
It’s Bryan 😜
Doesn't fit 2013 328i xdrive
WOW does it not tell you how to do this in your manual?
It does.
Tbh when I was 5 years old my moms trucks taillights got stolen from our apartment complex overnight. So it may seem like a over engineered wiper set up, but no one can come at night and easily step your wiper blades. 🤷🏻♂️ i who knows what people need and will try to steal.
