Another great show!! I am surprised at how entertaining these are! When I was a kid I always thought that sitting around the radio listening to stories would be boring, but how wrong I was! These stories are absolutely enthralling!
The performances and writing had to carry them. Although if you listen to a wide range of radio programs from before the explosion of television in the 50's and 60's you'll find that they put out some mediocre shows as well. I do like nearly all of the X Minus One productions.
Heard this series and others on American Forces Network (AFN) Frankfurt as a kid almost every night. Gun Smoke, Our Miss Brooks, Have Gun will Travel, Yours Truly Johnny Dollar and The Shadow Knows brought a lot of color and enjoyment before bed time for a little boy. On Saturday mornings it was Big John and Sparky I didn’t want to miss with my father. Thanks for uploading these unforgotten gems!
When I worked in carts at a retail store, I found these on the Internet, and had to download them all onto a MP3 player with like maybe 30MGs of storage. What times it is now, to be able to listen to a 100+ collection from my phone. 😌
I used to do a live radio show called the waning moon, I was all the actors, the sound effects person and the producer. the show featured live dramatizations of horror tales
Another classic program by presented by Old Time Radio Research. Enjoyed this first episode and while checking others, I recognized some written by Ray Bradbury so gotta a lot to look forward to. Thanks again for your posting of these classic radio programs .
Here's the cast list, according to Goldin. Several of them are veteran voice actors. Bill Smith, Donald Buka, Ernest Kinoy (writer), George Lefferts (writer, adaptor), Ken Williams, Luis Van Rooten, Matt Crowley, Wendell Holmes, William Griffis, Don Pardo (announcer), Fred Weihe (director), William Welch (producer)
Just got my winter coat. Cold in Chicago. Found a big blob of peanut butter in the pocket. No wrapping; just peanut butter..... Its been there 7 months. Guess what... M.
Listen to the Dimension X version for comparison. Dimension X and X Minus One have some episodes in common. I tend to favor Dimension X. Wendell Holmes played the Skipper in the D X version, in this one he’s Charly. Great fun to compare different productions of the same story.
Well folks it looks like the age-old question 'is there life on other planets' has finally been solved! There isn't any, because some random person on the internet said so! :-)
i laugh everytime i hear dates. they’re way off. it may be centuries before these things happen. for instance, frequent space travel is nowhere near here yet. it started to seem that way during the Space Shuttle program until they started blowing up on a regular basis.
I'm a millennial in my 30s and listen to these awesome shows every morning on my work commute. Thank you !
I'm 96 and still listen to the great radio shows!
Thank you for my bedtime stories. I love them, I’m 66 and can’t sleep without them. Thanks for the great work team.

Indeed
These shows are still better than what’s on TV today
True

By far one of the best episodes of x minus one!
These are wonderful shows. Sit back and relax; close your eyes and listen. Participate in The Theater of the Imagination.
Its amazing to think these where usually done live. The studio was also a foley studio. Live performance with sound effects done in real time.

I’m too lazy to look up Ray Bradbury episodes- are they any good?
Some of this voice acting is suprisingly good, I wasnt expecting such a good performance.

Excellent
Great daytime show- not recommended for bedtime
Ooooo old sci-fi stories! Though I suppose it's probably only old to me as I'm only nearing 17.
"In a million could-be years on a thousand may-be worlds" ... Elon Musk gonna use this line.
Elon is an idiot
@@nardpuncher Jealius much?
"Your announcer... Don Pardo"! He went on to the Price is Right on TV.
He soon gave way to Fred Collins for the rest of the series.
Don Pardo ... the Saturday Night Live announcer for 40+ years?⁉

This is a good one 😀
Really enjoyed this episode. I did pick up on where the ending was going. I'm not usually good at that.

Whether intended or unintended, this 1955 episode had a real-life message about a "5th column" of communists in the US.
A knockout.
