@@Climbandrun Thanks man. I'm still skiing and mountain biking but my new passion is upland bird hunting in the mountains of NV where I live. Now that I'm in my fifties, I don't need to scare myself anymore anyway. lol
You were the first one I found on Instagram and it was a good choice. Congratulations on your accomplishments! I'm a 73-year-old woman who lives in the Sierra. I was overweight/obese until I was 66, but I didn't let it stop me. In my late 50s I trekked to Everest Base Camp twice, despite carrying extra weight and my wheezy old asthmatic lungs. I backpacked solo in the Sierra for many years, and was somewhat badass at the time, but you're a true athlete and what you've done is impressive. I lost 80 lbs in 2016 and have kept it off for 7 years by giving up sugar and flour.
Your why is so inspiring, YOU are so inspiring! I couldn't be more excited and honored to work with you and support you in every way possible! Keep on being you, Vitaliy. Your passion comes through in every word you share!
Man, the more I age the more I become comfortable sharing about my past and opening up. It is much easier to hide under the shell of present, but comfortable is not therapeutic nor useful to anyone else.
Can’t wait to hear more from you Vitaliy! I have been in the same mindset recently and I am making shifts to be of more service to my community. Helping others is very fulfilling!
Hey Vitaliy, great video and good of you to share your background. Don’t know if you remember but we met last July on the Wonderland trail in Washington state in the U.S. I was backpacking and we talked about ultra running and you running the Wonderland loop. Pleasure meeting you and discovering your content! ✌️
WOAH! Hey! Yeah I remember, we talked next to the waterfall, mostly about camera set ups we prefer? Then moved on to trail running? So crazy you saw this. How you been? What you been up to? My IG is @mtngangsta, message me on there, would be lovely to see some of your photos from WT, if you posted some.
I’ve been following your journey for awhile now and it provides me with a lot of stoke! I look forward to hearing more about your thoughts on supplements as I am wondering if there is a use for them, besides wasting money, for climbing and running.
It's not something I like to share, but now that I am older, I see that it's probably important for others to hear about stories like mine, as well as for me to get over it. Don't think I ever will completely, but being able to share it gives me more power over all the negative things that happened to me when I had skin infections etc.
I'm glad you're doing well. I climbed all my life but can't do it anymore because of elbow arthritis.
Sorry to hear that. There will still be hiking and backpacking as an option to enjoy mountains. Without added risk.

Amazing story! Thank you for sharing. It's an accomplishment only a few would be able to understand.

So proud of you bro. Keep up the good work, you are truly an inspiration!
Thank you so much for being a good friend that has been nice to me during our childhood! You rock!
It’s always crazy to find that some of the fittest people came from unathletic younger years. Very inspirational - thanks for sharing
I am starting to think that maybe it's like getting to the thing you couldn't have. The more something is out of your reach, the more you want it.

You know what just happened?! I registered for Leona Divide! :)

Will certainly make a video at some point about the topic.
Great video, Vitaliy! I didn't know most of these facts from your life.

I am super interested! Thanks for this. Will follow 🙂
You had me at the word "pus." Then "cats" cemented it.
LOL pus is not related to cats unfortunately. :/
