Thanks for taking the request man, glad you enjoyed it. For me Mikio was one of the guitarists that really inspired me a lot with his clean sweep picking, whammy techniques and ofc like you said the unique tone he plays with. They are all masters at what they do for sure.
RIP Mikio🎸❤ Takayoshi renamed this song The Hill of Wisteria in honour of Mikio. @Ganimal83 has given you a very emotional performance from shortly after Mikio died. Takayoshi inherited Mikio's guitar and used it for that performance. I have seen a more recent performance of this same song, but with vocals added and again that one was very emotional. I don't remember if that was on Takayoshi's own channel.
You mean this version right? ruclips.net/video/y-DHzrF0hKM/видео.htmlsi=8llKBOYdFDPoO9Ai I liked this one personally a lot, especially the parts where they show pictures of Mikio's life, it hits hard and makes the song even more emotional than it already is 😢
The song is called The Hill Of Wisteria. It was co-written by Takayoshi Ohmura and Mikio Fujioka. It was performed once, AND ONLY ONCE, as the actual Kami band in BABYMETAL at the Final Chapter Of Trilogy concert in Yokohama Japan on December 12, 2015. There is only fan cam video on RUclips of this performance, as it was not included in any Blu-ray or DVD.
At that point it was titled 'Gathering of the Metal Warriors'. Ohmura renamed the song to honor the memory of Mikio Fujioka. The family name Fujioka can be translated as "Hill of Wisteria".
Actually, I believe the Kami Band performed it a total of six times in the second half of 2015 (Sept 16 and 21, Oct 2, 8 and 16, as well as Dec 12). But you are right, there's only fan cam footage, as far as I know.
@@rickwagner- 'The Gathering of Metal Warriors' is the title of a live DVD that was included in Ohmura's mini-album 'Cerberus' release. The video comes from that DVD, but this instrumental piece was untitled before getting its current name.
For me, this group IS the Kami Band..I know there have been over 20+ people in the Kami Band...but this line up Is "THE" Kami Band to me and always will be. Put your Kitsune UP!!
Hell yeah bro, I love this song! The absolute OG Kami Band ripping it up. There's a more emotional version if you wanna check it out on your own: ruclips.net/video/-jSZR9g-Y_M/видео.htmlsi=e35YQwLXTun33M2w This was done by Takayoshi, BOH, and Hideki as a tribute to Mikio after his passing. Takayoshi (Mikio's understudy) was using Mikio's guitar gifted to him by Mikio's widow in this performance. He's used this guitar quite extensively at Babymetal shows afterward as well. 😢 The video quality ain't good, but worth a watch on your own. 🤘🦊
The surviving East Kami core (guitarists Ohmura, Isao, Leda; bassist BOH; drummers Aoyama & Maeda) remain very tight knit to this day. Mikio, BOH & Maeta had a side project (Kari Band 仮BAND which means "Tentative Band") with two mini-albums & a live double album under its belt. To help financially support Mikio's two young daughters, the East Kamis (minus Leda who is cheering from afar) had also formed the new project band MLG Avengers (MLG = My Little God, which is Mikio's nickname) together with bassist Shoyo (Jupiter) & vocalists Toki (C4) & Kuze (Jupiter). All of them (including Mikio & the East Kamis) were connected to the Takayoshi Ohmura Band clique, who were originally assembled for Ohmura's 2016 & 2017 solo birthday gigs but had since variously paired up to work on side projects or play for others (like BM & Gacharic Spin). Big shoutout to Ohmura, already a rising star (tour guitarist for Mandopop superstar Amei, with whom he's currently reunited) when he joined the Kamis & who has the widest industry contacts. Everyone loved Mikio but Ohmura is considered his disciple, & he took it upon myself to start the My Little God fund & organize various activities to raise money: compiling Mikio's performances & editing them for release; rallying his colleagues (including Leda) to participate in a memorial concert for Mikio which he organized & designed its merchandise; pulled strings to ensure all profits went to Mikio's family; later got a record deal for the newly-formed MLG Avengers, who proceeded to release an album & played one-off gigs, including one later this month, to continue helping to raise the Fujioka kids. I don't think RUclips has the original 2020 Mikio Fujioka Memorial LIVE DVDrip anymore (except as part of old RUclipsr reaction clips), but Bilibili (Chinese video platform) has it (search for【缅怀藤冈干大】神乐队-the hill of wisteria). Ohmura was crying his eyes out as the tribute band passionately tore through the song onstage that day.
Mikio doing all those fast legato slide arpeggios while playfully using the whammy bar to modulate the sound as he does it, amazing playing Takayoshi Ohmura has one of the best right hand picking I've ever seen, I saw some of his solo guitar playing videos and the right hand technic on that man is out of this world.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 I am going to see a special concert "MLG Avengers" on Jan.19 where BOH, Ohmura, Hideki and other current / former Kamis are to play. MLG stand for My Little God, a nickname of Mikio (RIP 😢) And I also enjoyed a concert of Isao (one of current Kamis) with BOH, Ikuo (former Kami) and other excellent musicians on Dec.29, last year (Isao's birthday)
While there are plenty of classic Babymetal songs left to go though, I don't think you've done a single track from their most recent album. I would suggest giving _Monochrome_ a try!
Fun fact: Last year the Kami's redid this song in a MV format while also bringing in some of the lesser known Kamis in addition to the main ones. ruclips.net/video/y-DHzrF0hKM/видео.html is the link. And if the link doesn't post the title is. " Hills of Wisteria" full ver. /MLG Avengers.

If you think Ohmura's playing was soulful in this one... Oof.
@@Slytherkins He's soulful in all, but this one is just extra emotional, of course.
I've never heard a performance with more emotion and pathos. This was part of a series of benefit concerts to support Mikio's family.
