  • Aprilia's new RS440 has been spotted on the streets of India. More and more spy pictures have been surfacing. What does that mean? What specs can we hope for? But most of all, what is competing against and at that point...do we really need ANOTHER beginner/entry level bike?? These are the questions I go over in this video :)

    They just unveiled the bike yesterday. It’s called the RS457 and is exactly a baby RS 660 with the derived twin from the 660 as the block is a stressed member of the frame. Being based out of India and needing more sports bikes this is a welcome addition. Being made here should give the price some levity but not too extreme. We can for sure experience the same 270 twin sound and yes it has different riding modes, quick shifter and traction control. You definitely should check it out

      Saw the videos of the unveiling. It looks absolutely stunning! And I am surprised how much tech they were able to add onto it!

    The 400cc segment is heating up a bit with India at the centre nice to see that
    Quickshifter is needed as the RC390 has all the bells and whistles like TFT and TC and Super moto and quickshifter

      Let's see what they add! Should be an exciting reveal. I think if they do include it, it may be optional

  • @SGTMARSHALL1
    @SGTMARSHALL1 Год назад +3

    I'm in Brisbane Australia, I personally believe it will be similar spec to the CFmoto and priced just above the Kawasaki ninja 400 somewhere at the $ 10,000 AUD price tag where it is affordable enough to step up to Italian exotic but not to high that you go shopping for other options either. I would like to see twin front disc optional, similar safety software and display as the rs660. Price would really be the factor when it comes to sales, the rs660 is about $19k so half the price and half the Horsepower seems reasonable given the competition.

    • @SK_XIII
      @SK_XIII  Год назад +1

      Optional twin disc fronts would be a nice offering for sure. I am guessing the same pricing wise. Just hope they don't price it like the Kawasaki ZX4R. :D

    • @SGTMARSHALL1
      @SGTMARSHALL1 Год назад

      @@SK_XIII it's possible but that would remove the incentive to pick the Aprilia with 30% less horsepower over the Kawasaki ZX4RR that already has twin disc. And to be honest I would rather buy a CFmoto RS440 and divert the extra money on building my dream car 😁

      @@SGTMARSHALL1 Agreed! The more I see the CF moto...the more I think of it as the most bang for your buck beginner bike in today's market! Really tough to beat that price and features. Will be interesting to see how that bike holds up over time

    I just learned that the Aprilia RS 457 will be available in Australia around August 2024 and should retail for around $ 9775 AUD/ $ 6,250 USD, it does have specs and styling that most expected 47 HP, 450cc Traction control, Power tune modes, smooth profile underbelly exhaust and of course the iconic led headlights 😁🥂🏆

    So aprilia is making/manufacturing rs440 in india and it might be funny thing for you guys but sad for us 😢 that we have to pay significantly more for ninja 400 in india. So the current beginner sports bikes currently in india are single cylinder and ruled by ktm rc390, but R3 and Rs440 will give consumers in india more choices which is good thing and will also definitely push ktm to up their game. And for fellow international consumers you might have to pay a little more than indian consumers cause the rs440 will be send out of india probably as CBU units but its still not confirmed, so you guys can relax if you are thinking about buying one😅

    I live here in the good ol' USA.
    As long as it is priced right and there are enough Aprilia dealers around, the bike could do OK.
    What beginner class bike would I choose?
    Probably the naked version of the YZF-R3.
    There are plenty of small bikes that other countries get that the USA does not get because, mainly, the importers and manufacturers believe they would not sell well enough to make it worth the effort to bring them in.
    It has always been like that.
    Back in 1991, I bought from a Canadian Yamaha dealer a 1990 (brand new) Yamaha DT200R dual-purpose bike that was never sold in the USA.

    I sent this to aprilia about a year ago.
    Hi sorry to bother you as I know you must be busy but I just wanted to point out that you guys need a starter bike like a 400 or 500cc entry into Aprilia with traction control and abs. You’re loosing business to Kawasaki & others when I know you could build a strong base from the customers starting journey who will move into the 660 then v4 platforms. I would buy it and so would many Middle Aged new riders coming into the hobby who want to do it right. Thanks for reading my rant have a good day.
