Mark come into Miniwargaming with his Orcs and Gobblins army to challenge Ash, and his Dwarfs.

From one Ork WarBoss to another, ALWAYS chopa chopa 'neva chopa shield! only dem runty Grots and stunties use 'em shields! And ya keep 'dem Gorky Morky boyz in da back sos your enemies done gotta work for da killy bits! da warboss stays outside but close to the units to pick up flanks, disrupts and clean up dem wot runs away!! and dem gobby grots make good meat to take shots but you need more of 'em and yous can't count on 'em to stick in good cuz day get all squeely like and runs away so yous gotta have da boyz close behind for da counter charge. .... all my bad advice aside LOVE that the orks and gobos made a showing! Good for you lads!

Table rule I prefer, if you go back and fix a result that has a lesser probability of success, you may not enforce a better result.
Ash you need to get a card you place on the table that says roll you ancestral grude. May stop you forgetting it :D

I was so excited to see the Greenies on the tabletop, but I just can't take the abuse anymore, I'm tuning out. First of all, who the heck takes Brainbusta against Dwarfs? This spell targets casters only!Second of all, who the hell charges a small, and already depleted unit of Black Orcs into Longbeards, when there's a beautiful charge against a cannon available? Over running would have taken the Black Orcs behind the Stunties' lines.
Third of all, Seems to me like you did the Animosity roll with the Arrer Boyz incorrectly. They move up just 4 inches, not D6 inches. And they should have moved up against the unit across the table, since the Gyros where covered by the Black Orcs.
And finally, charging Night Goblins at a unit of Ironbreakers... That's a bad idea, especially if you're charging thru your own Fanatics. Dude! Shame on you for abusing the beloved Greenskins like this.

That was very entertaining. One of the better matches I've watched. So many comical aspects. Suicide goblin runs against armored flying machines, shrugged off sniper cannon shots, & all kinds of shenanigans. Excellent.

@28:30 the 2 fanatics force of destruction rule. the goblin unit would take 2D6 strength 5 hits and then both fanatics removed as a casualty
@39:00 this is totally wrong. fleeing unit roll flee distance pursue dwarfs roll pursuit distance if pursuers is equal or greater the fleeing unit is destroyed where they stand. in other words the troll unit has been destroyed by the dwarfs, then the pursuers move the distance on there pursue distance dice roll if they make contact with an enemy unit its treated as if you charged into them so you have to maximize. so dwarf thunderers won they chased catching the troll unit destroying them where they stand then thunderers move pursuit distance making contact with the orc unit so they maximize as its counted as a new charge.

That was a massacre. Rarely seen so much bad luck for the greenskins :( I feel like the initial attack with the black Orks should have been with 2 choppas to maximize the damage on the first charge round to win the battle. especially since the armor save didn't help so much while more kill may have.
Khraag yah, the orc player really played more defensive once he got in, which was silly. double choppas would have gotten like, 6-7 more attacks.
LOL - I used to play this game as a kid...well, I used to paint the models. Gave them ALL away...whole goblin army, whole dark-elf army, loads of 40k stuff....Anyway...these videos have made me just buy some goblin archers...so I'm sadly going to rebuild my goblin army and make it look sweet....say sorry to my bank manager (and my non existent girlfriend - in fact...blame her for not existing!)

It's kinda fun to see this and compare it to how the battle would have played out in total war warhammer.
The Gyrocopters would have lost one unit to the doom diver and another to the foot of gork, but the surviving one would be fairly safe from the rest and would've gotten a lot of kills off the black orcs. The ironbreakers would've never run ever and would probably be so resilient that they would survive till the end, but do way less damage (they would rout the gobbos pretty quickly though). The Thane would've gotten a lot of kills, just like in this battle. The organ gun would have done a lot of damage to the trolls, maybe even killed one or two models, but be relatively useless against the rest of the greenskins. The great cannon would have gotten a lot of kills, but because the ranks were closed quite fast it would kill some of their own longbeards. The fanatics would have disappeared after their use and not kill their own gobbos. The trolls would've decimated the thunderers if they catched them. And the black orcs would've chopped through the longbeards, but the longbeards would've hold on until almost the last man (high morale). Actually, the doom diver would've probably been charged and routed by the gyrocopters.
Great rep as usual, though I get the impression mark hasn't played orcs much in 8th! When fanatics are contacted these days they die. Therefore chucking them out of the unit in front of you while charging would cause you to kill them and suffer the extra hits. Not a great tactic generally!

The night-goblins should't have charged the Ironbreakers! The right is to march then release the Fanatics.
You resolve the charge reaction as a charge is declared. However, you do not move the charge until all charges have been declared and the reaction has been performed.
1:19:00 All charges must be declared and then reactions are declared before any dice are rolled.
When you rolled and moved the first unit in you would no longer be able to declare any more charges

Damn those Longbeards, I've seen them wipe out a unit of Bloodknights when the knights charged, Black Orcs and Big Uns.
23:00, animosity, roll of 6 = make a full non march move towards the nearest enemy, thereafter charge if possible, if not possible act as normal. it's not a complex rule.
28:39, i'm guessing you haven't played in like 4 years, really, just flip through the army book before you make a battle report, a cursory glance even.

Two things. First, It says in the magic section of the rules that you can only use as many dice to dispel as were used to cast, not more. Second, can war machines be deployed in buildings? I wasn't sure but it doesn't make much sense either way, so if you could clarify that would be great. Great, entertaining video, guys!

You can use as many dispel dice as you want when attempting to dispel.

great game - good to see a different army up against ash's fun but 'usual' dwarfs/ogres
Ash keeps saying 'they're stubborn so they have to hold'. He means Immune to Psych...
I do not understand why the dwarf handgun unit did not crash into the flank of the Orc unit. The trolls are not moved 7". The trolls are destroyed where they stood in combat. And the dwarf handgun units moves forward the amount of the die roll with out any kind of wheel.
richard firmin I think it's because the orcs were in the building. The tray just couldn't fit there. It might be better to move the building for the time being but eh

Dwarf thunderers with shields are basically dwarf warriors. The trolls did have some trash rolls.
The Ork guy had such terrible luck throughout the game... except for his running away rolls the dice hated him big time!

The rules knowledge seems to be getting worse in these reports, rather than better. Which is a damn shame as they are lovely to look at and really fun!

Dwarf Thunderers should flank charge as the flank area is measured at 45angle. a bit of cheating poor greenies there :P

Hey Ash, what do you think slayers? I think they have cool rules and fluff but die too easy, which is good for ending their shame but not for winning battles!

these orcs and goblins seem really underwhelming! is it just down to bad dice rolls or could he have designed his army better?
would have been better for the archers to shoot, then stand and shoot, might have killed 1 before they got charged and maybe had the same result of non persuit

At 1:07:57, Ash could have charged the flank of that unit.
Don't you take D6 wounds when suffering dangerous terrain? Usually it doesn't matter because a lot of cavalry is just 1 wound each, but mounted characters, chariots, monstrous cav and so on should take D6 wounds, not just 1.
D6 for chariots , 1 for cavalry
You would have hit that unit in the center when the troll run, you can't wheel to avoid combat.

dont play fantasy a lot... but this seems even more unbalanced than some of the stuff ive seen in 40k... dwarves look like they had no weaknesses, can sit back and outshoot the orcs, then when the orcs actually make combat, where they ''should'' have advantage they get curbstomped by tougher, better equipped, better fighting dwarves. even the dwarves shooty unit destroyed trolls. all of the rules that are supposed to be funny in the orcs army constantly work against them. dwarves had no such rules or downsides. i dont know... it just seems really one sided.
This orc army wasn't that optimised , they can take lots of war machines and out shoot dwarves if they want. Also the lose of magic in turn two and bad rolling meant this loss, orcs you don't go defensive you build all out attack, two hand weapons on all the boyz , only a goblin needs a shield.
Merlins Beard magic really fucks dwarfs up as well as mobility based armies
Dwarfs are slow and vulnerable to lots of calvary. Orcs and goblins are erratic and unpredictable, they aren't competitive but provide the lols.
they can be competitive, depending on how you build the list, lots of black Orc characters to stem the animosity.

I was extremely excited to see a full length battle report with live video and an amazing board/minis painted. Then I start listening to you guys talk and discuss and I eventually had to turn the video off.
Numerous rules mistakes was very disappointing to see. Very silly moves that lead to an absolute waste of time to watch. I suggest you both read over the main rulebook and then the army books associated with your armies.
Not remembering how Animosity works when you're playing OnG is unacceptable.
