As someone who's written graffiti for years, it will look shitty at first. But over time you'll get better control. I'm excited to start calligraphy

I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with calligraphy, although you'll probably find it painfully slow compared to graffiti.

I have to get this book by Eleanor Winters...I started a few months ago to practice with a oblique pen and nib and I try to discipline myself to write a page a day as you suggested.

That's excellent! It doesn't really matter how good each stroke is, but if you keep practicing daily, you'll see an enormous difference in a month.

Great video! I'm thinking about getting into calligraphy as a hobby. One thing that I don't quite understand yet is the ink, I mean, how much ink do you need to get on the nib? How much of the nib do you dip in the ink? Stuff like that.

You should definitely give it a try, it's really easy to get started.
As for the ink, you should only dip about 3/4 of the nib and that's enough. You can then gently touch the rim of the ink bottle to let any excess ink flow away and you're ready to go. You'll quickly learn how much ink is needed.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it.
I bought the book on Amazon, check info for the exact title. I'm sure you can find it online at most bookstores.

Does blue pumpkin nib fit into the plastic oblique pen holder

@@jessesscript I can't say for sure as I don't have that particular nib, but I think they're pretty much universal in size and it should fit.
