  • Hello and welcome to SOUTHEND AVIATION!
Tonight Logan Air, instead of the usually E135/145 jets, sent in one of there SAAB 2000 turboprop aircraft! Here I got G-LGNS departing from Southend's runway 05 bound for Aberdeen! Enjoy!

Long ago I worked with Trans World Express here in NE USA. We flew the Saab 340A. I never did get a chance to fly on the 2000. Looks sharp.

Prefer the 340 personally ;) Love the engine start on them!

Nice video, as always! It reminded me when Czech airlines flew with SAAB aircraft from Prague to Warsaw :-)

    A fine aircraft, almost jetspeed (685 km/h)

I'm really gonna miss this aircraft model, once it's finally decommissioned from active service.
Surely is a disappointment that the SAAB 2000 couldn't have come at an earlier time - like during the mid '80s, instead of the early '90s. I realize the chosen engine wasn't ready by the mid '80s, though, but the aircraft likely would've enjoyed a much longer production life had those damned CRJ'S hadn't been so popular among travelers at that time during the early 1990's! The ONLY regional jet I still like seeing in action these days is the Boeing 717 (formerly the MD-95)!
Nowadays, the CRJ's are put down for their "sardine-can" levels of comfort, while the Q400 and SAAB 2000 are still highly praised! Go figure, huh?!

Nope. The airline is named Loganair. All one word. Named for Willie Logan. I was at their Glasgow HQ a couple of weeks ago. My favourite AC is their Twotter VK. I've had a lot of trips aboard VK.

I prefer this plane from the Embraer 145!

Imagine if those turbo-props were jet engines, this plane will look so cool.

Bangladesh airlines should buy one of this instead of DASH 8 🤔😜
