@Tyler Slaughter I guess I shouldn’t watch these videos. I’m a minimalists. I don’t understand hoarding of wealth when there are people suffering. But. That’s why I’m not rich. Anyways. Thanks for the response. I started watching this because the building design is very nice. Then ended up sidetracked by the cars. Nice cars for sure. Adeel A. Ahmad you can invest in private companies as an accredited investor when they periodically raise funds. Or you can buy into a fund that already holds Space X
David Lee is the best car collector. Most down to earth and wise. It’s hard to find cars you can buy at the bottom of the depreciation curve, but shows it can be done
So many gurus wanting your $ for their keys to success. Mr. Lee just gave everyone the keys for free. Thanks for being real and passing the knowledge. There’s no substitute for hard work. Best wishes!
Very nice and inspiring. I am the CEO of Royal Doctors and like your entrepreneurial approach. It's not all about the money, it's also fun to look and drive them.
Smart businessman with and excellent taste in cars, if I was in this position financially I would most certainly go the same route and for sure with the same brand. Ferrari is so much more then a car, it's a soul, a lifestyle and a passion. Thanks for sharing your cars and mindset David!

Wow, amazing story and big admired. Found out about you David through Tyler NGO. Such an amazing collection of Ferrari car. Would be cool if you have an Acura NSX in your display as a historical timeline as a story telling, the car that made Ferrari went back to the drawing boards when it first came out in 1991, the NSX was also the car when Gordon Murray was researching to develop his Mclearn F1 that he use as a bench mark. Congrats on your success and such a humble down to earth guy.
This is the best and most detailed insight into anyone's personal car collection. I found your strategy on the type, number and quality of cars you collect as well as the reasons for your strategy extremely valuable. Thank you very much for sharing! I really appreciate the information you have generously shared with us. I plan on starting a Porsche collection soon ( I have just one at the moment 🙂) and your insights have helped me begin to form a strategy in my mind for my collection. Brilliant video! Also, I'd love a video about the car competitions, for example, you mentioned platinum-certified, I would love to know what all that is. Thank you for all the great content, keep going on!.
Such a wonderful Story David! Of course the biggest rush is pulling the trigger and buying a "Dream Ferrari" but I'm sure you also have some brilliant Stories about the searches and the one's that got away! Stay well my friend and your Secret is safe with me! lol
So to make money off these cars... buy at least 3 of them, 1 to drive, 1 to keep in the garage and 1 to sell when the value surpasses three cars worth...
Hi David. Thank you so much for sharing your strategy. It was really generous of you to take time to explain in detail your thoughts on collecting. I am slowly building my collection of grey Lamborghini V12 Lamborghinis spaced a decade apart (2003 Murcielago; 2013 Aventador at present). Next will be a 1993 Diablo. Do you think that despite your “commercial “ decisions on your purchases you still ultimately buy with your heart? Also, do you still own your Diablo 6.0? Thank you again for your time and generosity.
Hi David, Extending you a happy and healthy new year! I am looking at a 2015 458 spider in yellow with 28k miles. What are your thoughts on the value going up being that it’s the last naturally aspirated v8 in the line up?
Hi David ,I’m really appreciate all your thoughts idea that you been given and what you’re willing to share ,really appreciate it .one question .is the Ferrari f430 spider 2008 a good investment? Again appreciate your reply with thanks
I didn't know you had a channel. Just found it now in my feed. How did you get started amasing your wealth to start your collection? Someday I would also like to have a collection of my own. Currently working on potential business plans of my own. Keep up the great work with the channel!!!
What would you recommend as a car that would appreciate that's for person of love's supercars but is obviously on a very tight budget I would love to own a car drive it take immaculate care of it however hopefully have a go up in value for at least come close to break even as possible
Hi, David! Does the value appreciation of your cars cover the maintainance/insurance costs, etc of your collection + long term inflation? Or it is compasaiting on a personal level owning such a fleet of expensive cars?
Have you ever added up all your car costs (maintenance, repair, consumable costs, storage, insurance, registration, taxes) and subtracted it from appreciation to see if you are really making 2-3X? Maybe your would be better off with a nice S&P Index fund?
Hi David. Do you think high prices are good for classic car fans? Would, say, high canoe prices be a good thing for people who like canoeing? Are 'car investors' the automotive equivalent of someone who claims benefits then extols the virtues of high taxes?
Great video and great explanation on investing in cars. I can't tell you how many times I hear people (even car people) say that cars are a bad investment, and it simply isn't true. But like most investments it takes hard work, a lot of research and focus on the investment versus the emotion.
@@ferraricollectordavidlee you're welcome! One of these days (when the world gets more back to normal) I need to make it down to one of your cars and chronos events. They look like a lot of fun.

Can you not get a collector fleet policy? We are allowed 2500 miles per car/per year and they require storage in locked garages, however any show, tour, or auto event is excepted from the locked garage storage requirement. Motor Trend had the article featuring the 288 GTO belonging to the founder of ESCORT Radar detector manufacturer - Cincinatti Microwave. 288 GTO : all dressed up and no place to go.
Here's a question for you David, as the world become electrified and many governments around the world announce a ban on the sale of fossil fuelled cars in the next 20 years or so. What is going to happen to the values of these classic cars which are all fossil fuelled? Some say they will be worthless although I refuse to believe that. As an avid car collector what are your thoughts about this?
Great question, I was wondering the same. maybe not down to 0 but if fuel will become difficult to get than those kind of cars wouldn't be much appealing if not for a Museum. given how fast the world can change those days, it's a risk I wouldn't like to take especially considering he his doing an investments in long term and it seems we are on the way to a radical change of paradigm through electrification!

How to invest in cars:
Step one - get rich.
