Fallen Fruit (Lyrics)
To the ones who came before us-
All the golden ones who were lifted on a wing
We had no idea the dreams we had were far too big
Far too big
And we will walk together
Psychedelic garlands in our hair
Through the halls of splendour where the apple trees all grew
You’ll leave us dancing on the fallen fruit
From the Nissan to the Phantom to the plane
We’ll disappear in the cover of the rain
Took the great minds and the vapers
And a pocketful of seed
It’s time for us to leave
And we will walk together
Psychedelic garlands in our hair
But how can I love what I know I am gonna lose?
Don’t make me choose

@Minami Uchida its creepy😭 but i like it
She really did combine the elements of music from 60's, 70's, 90's - 2000 with an oceanic feeling 🥺 ghorrl she ain't kidding
I literally called my family up and tell them i love them 😭😭 oceanic feelings is my favourite this album is the best.
It’s actually more like 60’s
@@neontyler6663 or 70s. Very nostalgic
60s-70s
A bit medieval too
she did THAT, it's those songs which break the musical structure that impresses me the most, like The Louvre for example. This has an angelic feel too
Absolutely 😭😭😭
Love both songs ✨

You said EXACTLY what I think😌
Exactly she’s a genius
Every song on the record is incredible but fallen fruit has to be the best.

This album was worth the wait. Lorde never rushes what she does. It takes time to create something big.
So true you can’t be creative if they push you to make something quick just to make money for others. Creativity takes time & Lorde don’t let herself to be controlled by big people that is why she takes time to create something original and amazing . Thank you 🙏 Lorde you are true genius 😍😘😊
i’m sorry but this is really bad in comparison to melodrama
@@steff97official it's not bad compared to melodrama - it's completely different and there's no sense in comparing these albums imo. and im saying this while melodrama is my fave album ever, yet sp is such a good one
@@tommy5532 it is bad compared to melodrama
Yuuup and she went for the whole concept album idea hard. She’s making 7 videos for the solar power universe and the album tells a story I love it
This feels like a song that would be played whilst the world is ending
It is
This song is about that exactly
The world is ending
Yesss 😭💀
I actually think it's the opposite...this is more of "the world is having a spiritual awakening and making everything better" type of song.
When she said "How can i love what i know I'm gonna lose?" I felt shivers running down my spine

This song is about climate change and it just hits you in the gut when the beat drops. There’s a haunting feel to it. Very witchy I love it so much. This is what I will be listening to as the world ends.
I see your commentary on every song. It’s refreshing.

You have absolutely nothing to worry about.. You and the rest of humanity will be long dead before "the world ends". Stop listening to the globalist death cult.. Go fall in love and make a family together.
THE PRODUCTION ON THIS ONE IS SO STUNNING OMG
Then you know nothing about production because this is god awful and lazy. Huge disappointment. It's a bunch of Taylor Swift leftovers that didn't make it on her last album so they repurposed it for Lorde. Get real!

"decreased the global warming" is funny when this song is literally about climate change...

The solo kickdrum and “From the Nissan to the Phantom to the plane” threw me so far back into PH-era sound and then melded so well back into SP-era Lorde, I love it

This album got me seriously thinking about the future of this planet, for I'm in my early 20s, so I'll probably still be here when things get extreme in a way no one can deny or escape
Same I’m slightly younger than you and I’m also really worried about our planet’s future
Dude, you look like 40....
@@obec_18luv19 So does Lorde, and we're both killing it!
I'm 65 and have seen how this earth had spiraled. I'm also a Californian raised in Los Angeles in the days of seeing and smelling the air. It was so bad that we weren't allowed to play outside and the air was brown. Fortunately it isn't like that anymore but our fires is an indication that we have a lot to lose. If only certain Presidents wasn't all about money. It hurts to see that my science teacher back in the 70's was so right about our world. There truly isn't a Planet B.
Me too. This made me worry so much and i kept like analyzing the lines. Is earth the fallen fruit and the dance is the fight for survival? The dreams that became too much for our earth to handle. We’ll disappear in the covers of the rain, the glaciers melting and water/sea level rising? What i worry about is my child who’s still so young and like you, she’ll probably be here when things get worse. But as a mother, i could only hope for things to get better. Better future.
“But how can I love what I know I am going to lose?
Don’t make me choose” such a powerful lyric.
I don’t know if it’s just me who feels like crying listening to Lorde’s third album. It has this tone of maturity that I want to have and you can really see how much she has grown from that lost teenage girl to a woman. The two other albums scream nostalgia and stupidity inherent to being a teenager, but this album is like something you listen to when you start realizing that you’re about to leave all of those behind.
Absolutely agree, an amazing coming of age album. It’s like she writes about our lives 😭
same
i’m about to turn 20 and it used to kill me that wouldn’t be able to sing perfect places with the same amount of vigor, but this one opened up an entire universe for me to get comfortable in
Instead of stupidity, I’d label it recklessness.
This album feels exactly like when you create a complex emotion of sadness and joy from Inside Out
the shift in the middle of the song reminded me of pure heroine
Psychadelics have a similar shift.
no argument, the best song on the whole album.

Lorde & Taylor when 😤
Lorde gave us an incredible album.
Lorde's voice has never sounded better than it does now in this era. You can hear the effort and time put into making this masterpiece. It is an aquired taste, it isnt mainstream pop, that is why some struggle to grasp it
She's the mother I never had, she is the sister everybody would want, she is the friend that everybody deserves. I don't know a better person
this is my favorite song in the album
My favorite song of the album with The Path and California. And the person who made these illustrations is the GOAT, i saved them all in my gallery, that’s a museum now
This is my favorite on the album. So dreamy and adventuristic.

Takes me right back to the 1960's. Very melodic....
I loved it! The way she was talking to the oldest generation and telling them that they ruined the world for us (In the economy and the global warming) for everything is so keen and smart.
Fallen Fruit is the prettiest song off Solar Power
On an academic level, this song combines the crux of inter-generational struggles, equity and sustainable development
One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. David Bowie was right.
@Tr Uz Lorde is the future of music
This gives such magical island main character vibes I'm loving it
Love you Lorde
This song is SO beautiful and like a warm hug after coming in to the house from the beach
This sounds like Beatles I'm in love with it , best track imo
If you search through all 2021 and recently years I bet you hard to find a song like this, a song which is not about sex, drugs, hatred, break up. Its hard to find such, we need to support true Artists. What makes a song more powerful is how It can stays in your mind and makes you percieve about everything.
Love how you and harry styles are delving into 70s psychedelic rock, sounds so fresh!
yeah, they're so great!
she only got better with time this is fucking insane..... this album seriously has some advanced shit
I can't wait for a whole stadium to be singing this together like it's a ritual
I thought this album supposed to make me happy but why am i tearing up😃😃
Probably because it's a really half-assed effort of an album. Letdown of the decade. And all these Lorde stans don't wanna hate on it because they waited far too long for new music, she could've released an album of Billy Ray Cyrus covers and you all would still be swooning over it. There's no objectivity anymore.

Listened to the whole album, but this song definitely caught my ear. Forever in love with the dreamlike quality this song has
This record is truly beautiful. I don't know where people got the idea that it's 'Jack Antonoff's record". I've never heard him make anything similar so it's clear as the day that Lorde was the one setting the tone and producing her album first and foremost, with the help from Jack.
she doesn't know how much we missed her during these long long years of waiting, finally she's back and I can't belive this master piece omgggg
one of her best songs, no doubt
This song both broke and healed my heart!!
The Lorde giveth and the lorde gaveth away xD
Definitely my favourite so far. It feels new and familiar at the same time. I love the shape of the melody, and I love how it has that oh-so-good trademark Lorde textural depth and experimentation. It’s all encompassing - I feel like I’m being submerged. The other songs are growing on me, and I haven’t finished listening to them yet, but so far they’re a bit too light and falsetto-heavy for my personal taste. But this? This I love. I already know I’m going to listen to it, headphones in, for hours on repeat.
She is iconic ,This wonderfull

Lorde your new music has really resonated with me, makes me emotional hearing you sing, thankyou
My best friend and I waited all day to play the album together. We sat on my living room’s floor, made a circle of candles around the speaker and played the album. When it came to this song, we both got goosebumps and teared up a bit. Then I remembered we’re going to see her live at Primavera and we almost pass out.
I feel so lucky we have Lorde, who brings such amazing sounds to the table. Who pays homage to the beautiful music of the 70s and who is a master songwriter. Her lyrics could be put in a museum, used on a protest, a parade or tattooed on skin.
Let’s hope the sun will show us the path.
