I don't even have a TIG welder, but I'm still so happy right now!
I always feel that way listening to his voice in his videos. I am not a machinist, also.
I work on DIY CNC, you might want to watch, I'd appreciate it, if you feel good let me know
I'm close to getting my first welder, and I'm looking at an AC/DC TIG/stick machine..
I'd like to hear Tony's thoughts on the unit I'm considering.
Here is the link:
daysindustrial.com.au/acdc-tig/358-weldskill-200-acdc-.html
I appreciate your time and advice ToT.
P.s.
I'm posting this here because I have no other way to contact Tony, and hopefully he gets this comment notification:
Yes
You saved me at work today Tony! Out of all of the most random things in the world, your random comment about putting that tubing on that bar using compressed air to string it on (rather the mention of it for the bike handles), literally saved us from having to reproduce a job due to string running through a sealed pocket, that had been pulled halfway through.
Coworkers freaking out pissed off (this was the second time this job was redone by the way due to a different issue prior).
Pumped compressed air through it, asked if coworker felt the air, he started pacing trying to come up with a solution all the while I was pushing this strand through to the other side.
I'll never be a machinist, but I love your videos for the humor and all of the random things I've been able to learn..... case in point, LITERALLY!
Thanks Tony.
I for one watch at regular speed then replay the hot steamy bandsaw action at .25x speed
I love your hot sausages.
@@JackFlashTech Let's not forget his pies with personality.

Hot steamy bandsaw action lmmfao!
i get censor on that part in my country :3
Watching at 2x speed would make my time with TOT shorter, and that would make me sad.
Even the simple vids are jam packed with good stuff. 👊🏼
Well this friday just got a lot better.
You meant "Weld" right? :)
At first glance I thought you wrote that this friday you just got a lobster. LMAO
@@danl.4743 Lobster burn from too much welding?
9:37 NO! You can't make me watch all that and *cut* away from the payoff at the last second!
Genius
Apparently he can....
Honestly I was hoping it was going to keep going for another few minutes.
@@SeanTBarrett That's Tony, keeping people wanting more!
That's why it's called a "jump cut"
"Welding out the stool" feels like a euphemism that I don't want explained to me...
I can explain it. If you are at all like a cat.
@@Pickleriiiiiick As a cat I automatically endorse this explanation. 😺
It's a stool sample
Your stool should be about as big around as your wrist and well formed, not segmented.

WHAT ARE YOU EATING OR DOING TO YOURSELF IN YOUR FREE TIME!!??? 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
Bout time. Gosh. Ive been relegated to savages that spin crushed copper pipes in CNC machines. 🙃
The chocolate knocker tool was a worry.
@FIIK He really pokes at stuff that guy.
Big floppy ribbed drilling tool......dont want to know what he's drilling
@FIIK He couldn't even keep it together in the narration!
@@danhammond8406 That was a probe not a drill though. 😁
Hearing him say “Dropped some loot” was the first time This Old Tony actually sounded old to me
God damnit. You caught me... okay, okay, okay. I'm switching to .5 playback speed. Now you're gonna be here with me for another 30 minutes.
tthhhaaannnnkkkk yyyyooooouuuu
I somehow feel the sarcasm emanating from that thank you
You know its a Tony video if you smile right at the beginning of the video.
"I like tools, I'm lazy and I like being comfy"
I like when he did the stuff to the metal
I absolute love the full 40 seconds of bandsaw cutting. It’s such a TOT thing to put in.
How on God’s Green Planet could it be, that you don’t already have a million subscribers? I know what you’re talking about, about half the time... but I NEVER miss a video. Thanks for your time, effort, and for giving a sh-- about production quality, Tony. I love your work.
"Heeeey, who's watching at double speed?" Me: *goes back to normal speed*
I kept watching at double speed.
Me watching at 3x speed: clearly not aimed at me, moving on.
I just sat down with a cup of tea and this video appears. It's friggin magic I tell you.
WeldingTipsandTricks has brought me so far in my welding skills over the years. I credit J with everything I've accomplished in the last 5+ years.
This better be the first of 20 videos this month ToT! Or else. Else, I’ll only get to watch how ever many you upload.
Walking around a shop in slippers while drinking coffee and catching up on podcasts?
How'd you get the video stream from my security cameras?
1:04 - Step Stool?? More like BIKE STAND! We all know you are into the trials scene, and those bikes are sooo light you can put them on a Pringles can and it would hold so that thin aluminum should be fineeee!
6061 is amazing. His fabrication and welding skills are rivaled by his sense of humor. I really like his channel.
Those pulse weld shots near the end of the vid sure was some hot action! Thanks for the fun, and informative vid,Tony.
Tony I’m begging you to make more project videos like the espresso pot, I’ve rewatched it too many times now
So happy you uploaded ❤️
I used to own an old copper coil arc welder. I've now spent over $2000 on TIG gear and a 15 amp plug for my garage.
I've seen all your videos since lock down in OZ. Great work - and you're hilarious for a yank. :)
Cheers TOT. DOC from down under!
I put off watching this video for a while. As in... 1 day. Every time Tony puts out a TIG video, it COMPELS me to go down to the shop and dust off my ol' tiggy. I was right in the middle of putting together a wood cabinet and now I gotta go find some aluminum scrap.
15:56 the backing track for "chariots of fire" begins......and appropriate.
Was just thinking about you today as I often do when I have a pile of projects to get done myself.
Apart from excellent workmanship your humour and uncanny resemblance to Raymond's voice keeps me wanting more....
Thanks old mate I'm hooked on your style :)
"If I wasn't a married man"
Best of Best. I want a tig welder, and a lathe. This old Tony got me on metal working. I'm fascinated!! Hail to the machinist!!!!
Tony: "so i dropped the frequency"
me; immediately hears the difference. "wow. is that for real?"
All of his videos are full of tricks! So much fun... and is this even a step stool or a stand for his trials bike?
Great video, I thank you for continuing my "Learn something new everyday mantra"
Been a long time since I pulsed my tig...but it was worth the wait, especially with the bandsaw action and water cooling. Thanks Tony, it made all the difference. Well done and most pleasurable.
15:00 was a fantastic hands on lesson of how to get a weld going in a tough situation. Thanks for making all this content, I really do like your channel and method of delivery.
well there i was enjoying the long slow cut through the angle piece when when just like coitus interuptus (sp) the last few inches were denied, sad day
He had to edit out the part where the blade broke and almost took his arm off while he Yosemite Sam'd his way through all currently known, and some previously unknown expletives.
You know. . for the kids.
I was thinking he should have played the Spaceballs beginning scene background music.

I have to say your videos are not only educational but also extremely entertaining. I work in a laser cutting and bend shop and want to learn more about mills and lathes so I've watched alot of videos I've binged watched just about all of your videos so please please keep them coming.
Great video! I have used the water cooled Flexloc torches for about 5 years, love em! Mostly used in welding aluminum bicycle frames. Pulse welding really helps me get the weld bead profile I want.
"What is this!? A step stool for ants!?"
😂😂😂 Best comment.
LOL. That little magic trick at the end got me going back for a second look too.
There once was man called Old Tony,
Who's machining was fun and not phoney,
He'd occasionally stray,
And go welding away,
But either way he's making money.
I don't know about making money, but he is stacking dimes. :)
@@justion337 *clams
Are we supposed to pronounce "money" as "moan-ee" or should we pronounce "phoney" as "funny"?
"not phoney" gets kinda misleading. :P
@@operator8014 its supposed to be hella awkward, so whichever seems more forced.
I am glued to this, probably will never pulse weld anything in my life, but had my ADD ass wide-eyed front and center. I would watch this man teach me how to tie my shoes and watch with same enthusiasm.
I enjoy working on cars and have a little experience with home machining. About a year ago I went and ordered an AC capable tig welder based almost solely on watch ToT videos. That says a lot about the quality of this channel. Keep them coming!
This old Tony is my internal monologue.
I'm going to have to try that out. Bern thinking of giving mine an actual voice.

"Fingerpants!"
Hahaha
Obviously the correct name is "hand shoes"
I’m glad i’m not the only one who sits in my garage catching up on podcasts
The greatest mentor I ever had the privilege of learning from used to always say “Experience is recognizing your own mistakes”. It took me quite a few years to fully understand that statement but it’s so true.

9:57 How did you know? I haven't watched RUclips on normal speed since x2 became a feature.
Only way I get anything else done with my day. However, I keep This Old Tony on 1X for the amazing voice.
Wooooooohooooooo a new This Old Tony Video!!!!
I love your videos so much. They feel like the right thing to watch no matter what mood I'm in. I'm a big fan of the ones where you build stuff.
Tony, looking at you fumbling about in the plastic organiser I can only assume your foreplay is fantastic. ,

Hey, that's my favorite EDM song.
Next time make the weld puddles love heart shaped... don't make me ask twice now, ya hear.
TIG Latte? I would imagine that tastes better then MIG Latte.
Aww shucks, love you too.
I was watching this video of clickspring making a card press and the whole way though I'm thinking, I get how and what is being done because this old Tony has explained how all this works, like when he makes a thread and leaves the gutter. I just wanted to thank you Tony for actually taking time to explain, not just how but why things are done the way they are. You're a legend mate
My dad was badass at TIG welding aluminium. He was an electronics engineer and designer that grew up on a farm where they had to make their own parts. When I was a teenager, he TIG welded a kick-a55 motorcycle stand out of aluminum diamond plate that had a foot actuated lever and lock for lifting the bike. He was Ninja.
The fabled follow up video that Urho blocked! I thought it would never happen.
I had a potato or two last week. They've gone now.
Shit happens.
The Horse thing is spot-on.
Sick days are not anything to be crabby or about.
This year has produced a bumper crop of viruses. It’s like a perfect storm of sick leave production.
If a guy wasn’t on sick leave, he could totally get into tig torches. But I am on sick leave and ironically I am totally into this overly produced tig torch production.
At any rate, my personal tig welding operation has only reached the marginal/newby level after years of youtube instruction.
This has helped my tig game immensely, and I feel like I could allow someone to watch me weld now.
I love that I watch both 6061 and weldingtipsandtricks along with you. It makes me feel like I've seen the crossover episodes.
When you've got miles of fillet to do, try getting your pulse just right... you can lay the filler rod down without moving it, & get incredibally consistant ripples... Old fart here... :)
Come on now, I only watch abom79 at double speed.
ha!
You're not the only one! HAHAHAHAHAHA
Pro tip: Watch ToT with 2x speed and turn on the subtitles to some language you don't understand - It all seems to make sense
Same...I just wish there was a 3x for Tom Lipton.
@@-Viceroy- I too watch it with Australian closed captioning turned on!
I really like the idea of using a mag base for your torch holder. I had never thought of that, but I think from now on I am going to start doing that as well.
I've been using a mag base for a long time now. No more tripping on hoses, and no more broken hoses. Easy add on safety feature. Started using a magnetic holder for my mig gun recently as well. Really handy when on a ladder or underneath a workpiece.
Your videos are literally the only reason I need internet access
9:52 O.O how did he know
ikr!
Dude I straight up jumped there
Black magic!
Never once watched you double speed. Always 0.5 speed, makes it last twice long!
The exact opposite of my sex life
I don't understand why you always put down your welding abilities. Your welds are as good or better than any I have ever seen. Million times better than mine. Your way of showing how to do has motivated me to get practicing my welding. Thanks!
You know, I don't weld anything, don't have any room in the garage for it, don't have much interest in it as a lifestyle augmentation. Yet, strangely, I enjoy watching it and watching people talk about it. Dunno what's wrong with me. Maybe an infection or indigestion? Gas? I'll settle for gas. -=poot=- Yep, gas. Always fun to watch. Many thanks.
Don’t own a tig welder. Probably never will. Watched the whole thing.
Yeah, I have an "illness" too.
Cough, cough...Oh shit, where did that CNC come from?
Lol.
You know, for as long as I've been watch TO Tony's hands, I never realized he had sausage fingers until the end of this video. A sure sign of a man who works for a living.
I was taught to weld the reconnaissance tanks by a welder in the REME, they used AC then and boy did you get a suntan real quick, no real protection kit. i never did get the full hang of it, you make it look super easy.
I think you filmed a lot of your footage at one time and are releasing it strategically?
Double speed is great 😏
Loved the self-conscious pause at 13:44 - Torch cranked around almost 180d, filler rod bent into an "L" - I bet there was a mirror just outside the camera shot. That's some Acrobatic tignastics. Good stuff, as always.
Love your content and humor, i don't weld or machine anything but you make it interesting. ALWAYS looking for more, thanks Tony
9:52 Holy cow, I got called out big time
This topic is so hot, I am pulsating with excitement to see it!
I've used a Tig only once. With of course a perfect result ! :)
Seeing your video is always instructive.
Dude... I spend more than my fair share watching RUclipss, and you are low key one of the funniest guys in the Tubiverse.
Had to pause king of the hammers when I saw this pop up
But can it puls to the beat of "we will rock you"?
I absolutely loved the long bandsaw shot. Almost meditative.
man you ve got to love the spontanious total randomness
Me. I'm the one watching at double speed.
You monster! Look what you've done!
Heretic!
I always watch at 2x. I just tried slowing it down to 1x and man... it sounds like he's drunk!
1.5 club here. Though with how infrequent and great his videos are, I feel a little bad about it.
2x quite a few channels but never TOT, well maybe I will on the second or third viewing.😉
Hey how's Maho doing?
You should make the stool a give-away to some poor deserving loyal fan sir.

Doesn’t matter if I already know.
I watch these things all the time. To the end.
Must be a welder thing.
Thanks O.T.
One of the best things I love about your comedy or jokes is how unnecessary they are.
You are the most original.
This and your last video both have a really high patched beep throughout some shots. Maybe you didn't notice, or it's to deter teenagers from watching your adult content. Either way, keep up the great work.
Ben Posner yes! I wish video editing software had an alert for that. Easy for many people to miss editing, easy for many listeners to have to deal with. Oh well. Still amazing content.
Edit: also, thank you so much ToT for hearing that and helping us youngins with the buzz around 4:10!!
