The fact that Tom didn't know that metal existed when he joined Slayer is exactly what makes him great. He had no one to model himself after, and created his own persona; and he became one of the most iconic figures in metal history.
Unfortunately once he got his metal influence’s he began to sound worse resorting to screamo vocals after Seasons of the Abyss

@@MattyIcecubes and none of the other big 4 took that bait sticking to who they are. Araya’s screamo singing didn’t fit Slayer’s thrash style. He was trying to sound like Hatebreed for some stupid reason when that band isn’t anywhere near on Slayer’s level

I swear to God Tom Araya is chuck Billy's brother!
Sillyy
No. Tom Araya is John Araya's brother. Chuck Billy....iiiiiiis, an alcoholic. But he's almost at the halfway point of his 12-step program.
Cream is one hell of an influence actually
You said it.. one HELL of an influence because none of those bands played their own music. The “spirit of rock and roll” is about channeling .. who can channel the highest entity or god.. Ozzy suckled straight from the “head of the snake” himself. Planet Caravan is the discovery of our solar system and welcoming in the 9th planet/Plan9 👁
..so they tell me.
Tom is one of the kindest nicest guys and really cares about people. His lyrics are on another level of horror and insanity...even scarier...evil on a real human darkness. Not so much satanic as much as the real demons that lurk among us...inside of us all.
And before you say Tom didn't influence or write the lyrics...keep in mind every song on seasons of the abyss were written by Tom.
@1found1
The word "spirit" and the phrase "pattern of thought" (or "attitude") can be used interchangeably. A "spirit of fear" and an "attitude of fear" both make sense.
At one point, Jesus cast out a demon that was causing what we would today call epilepsy. Let's assume, for a moment, that Jesus - Almighty God and Creator of the Universe - was not acting out of ignorance.
Perhaps, then, the spiritual realm can have an impact on our human patterns of thought, and (since we have been told repeatedly to "not be afraid"), our thoughts can have an impact on the spiritual realm.
@1found1 Read again...
I answered your statement clearly. Also, there is no right or wrong to this for us personally, but for Tom he has clearly defined demons and his use of lyrics to communicate symbolism.
Not certain your age, so will assume your age quite young given your content & breadth of speech. This is not a criticism...it's a great thing to be into metal and rock if so, we are losing the battle and need the next generation.
Tom is and has been a devout Christian since his early 20's.
Here is Tom's quote below. Read and listen to further to understand "demons" as symbolism for humans being controlled and sickened by worldly forces who do not work toward good.
In this world... Nobody gets out alive.
Jesus healed the woman possessed by a demons in the Bible, this is now considered to be likely epilepsy given description of her condition.
Defined as Demons....a sickness of mental, physical, and/or spiritual health.
"when we started the band, we talked about devils and demons, and now we still write about devils and demons but more on a societal level. And that’s how we matured as a band. When we first started out, it was “Oh you’re a Satanic band, you worship the devil” We don’t worship the devil, but we did start writing songs that way. And then it became more about the ills of society, about human beings and how evil we are." Tom Araya

I bet you just won't find the time? ...or it's not worth it now because you are hurt too badly by the truth-word-hurt?
(Lol. Don't reply until you read it and answer the question if Tom is a Christian)
@1found1 Yes, you did a VERY good job. No matter what others say, just remember your momma loves you and you are ALWAYS a WINNER as long as you give it your best shot!
And as for the accident you made here, listen you can't always know when you have to use the restroom. This is very normal! Look, eerybody wears undergarments...yours just has more padding and support because you are better and need better quality. Thats all.
Given that you have maybe had someone to assist you in reading the Tom Araya interview with Vice, you will now know going forward that the below statements are true.
1. Tom Araya is a self confessed devout Christian since his early 20s.
2. Demons being of satanic nature and/or physical entities is not what Tom Araya/Slayer believes.
As you read, Tom clearly states that demons are of the evil within man & more then satanic nature...slayer lyrics reflect this.
(If you disagree with these comments then maybe ask your caretaker friend tomorrow to help you write to Slayer? Instead of me...the messenger? )
Again, if you contact me again without discussing the these two points and reading the interview I shared, nobody cares. If you do, please respond and someone else can maybe take over helping you.

Tom seems like such a pleasant human being. I remember watching their last show in Adelaide, ans he was tearing up when the crowd was cheering for the band at the end of the night.
He did this with all the 3 shows I was fortunate enough to catch….
2018 being the first announcement of the final tour was kinda sad cause didn’t get good ga area. It was all the way at the back.
As soon as they announced they will extend the tour dates, I immediately got 2 tickets.
1 in NJ Camden ( basically in PA)
2nd time in MSG NY.
Both times he was immensely sad to leave the stage.
We all could see the sadness of the fact he is really going to miss doing this. May be won’t
He did not want to leave. And trust me if he had a choice he wouldn’t.
But I also get why he has to leave. It’s cause of his family. Mostly his grandchildren.
And I fucking respect that despite the fact I wanna see more of them live.
WOW😮 That's amazing, especially when their making metal the way they did
That explains A LOT regarding Slayer circa 2020-onward.
Tom’s got Huntington Park written all over his young self. What a dope dude to have such an open mind and being mature about the situation at such a young age. The majority would have made fun of Kerry before leaving the garage and cranked called him a handful of times the coming. Week.
