Especially if you have a battle jacket then its even a better conversation because you have so many bands to mention and then a special bond begins to happen. its amazing experience. This youngster is a genius, He gets the absolute honest answers from dudes ive listened to for decades! he disarms them, and he should. These guys are honest with him, because LPP isnt opinionated, hes still pure. Great job kiddo!!
What I really like in Tom Araya here is that he really dives into the questions. He really thinks and at some points literally wrestles and chews the questions to give a proper and serious answer. That shows he really takes the interview seriously and, even more important, the interviewer. That's classy. Hats off to both of them for delivering a talk like this 👍!
Wow! To hear Tom talking about God and how he “leaves it in his (meaning Gods) hands” and accepting what he lays out before him and hoping he is following the right path........That just blows me away. He has a much firmer grip on what God is about more than a lot of so called Christians. I knew there was a reason I never felt guilty about being a Christian AND a fan of Slayer!
I have watched many, many interviews with metal stars and rock gods, but I have to say... Elliot here, has such a one-up on all of the other interviewers. These guys, like Phil and Tom, show the utmost respect and compassion when they are speaking with him. They are aware that he is a child, and seem to treat him with the openness and purity that aught to be afforded kids. But they also don't treat him like an idiot... rightly so. Because lastly, Elliot asks incredible questions. Keep up the good work young sir!
I am a huge fan of Metal music. Interviews like this just show how metal musicians are regular people who choose to express their feelings and beliefs through their music. Mainstream society would have everyone believe that Metal music is evil, which is a load of crap. When I was a kid, the Vietnam war was in full swing. I was terrified of being drafted and having to leave my home and go fight in a foreign land. As a means of fighting my fears, I had my plastic army men fight imaginary wars on my bed, planning battles, ambushes, etc. This helped me to put war into a perspective that I could deal with. The same idea applies to Metal music. It helps us face our fears, deal with concepts which are horrible, and in a sense, lift the vail of the unknown.
I love meatl music I know what it’s like to want to express yourself and people say mean things that are not true about the music you like high suck because of that and made want to write music and express how I’m feeling To let out my feelings out because sometimes people make us mad I can’t sing I suck at that but I’m good at rapping it’s not just meal they can let out how their feelings rap can to but now rap is not about that anymore so I wanted to Bering back the true meaning of music because meatl is not screaming crap that people call it it’s people have feelings that they want to tell the world how there feeling like how rap and other genres and people can Relate to that and people care about that stuff
1504Shawn I think it's because kids ask more interesting questions like "if you could rid the world of one thing". And adults ask more generic questions

Mad respect to Tom, for how he handled the question about how people treat one another. You can tell it breaks his heart to be so honest, but has too much respect to answer with bullshit "because it's a kid". Kids are people too, and constantly prove their intelligence, awareness, and observation skills. He has too much respect for the little guy to tell him that the future looks bright. That said, humans will surprise you sometimes - I think the bigger issue is that we've likely passed the point of no return, and even if we all joined hands tomorrow, I'd be skeptical that we could turn everything around enough to prevent what seems inevitable. The last 100 or so years has severely fucked us, even if we smartened up immediately.

See everyone, metal's not scary!!!
It's love...
Solé Parkin I'd rather call it emotion
Solé Parkin Metal sounds good, but has the worst message then any music- serious violance, Satanism. Sucude drugs, etc
D Cheney listen to death perennial quest or without judgement, the worst message is from gangster rap, THAT promotes drugs, alcohol, murder, womanization, etc.
Consumer of Souls and cupcakes The entire music industry is of the Occult, but rock is debatable the worst messages, but yes rap and even top 40 is influenced by the Devil nowadays. Most music promotes immorality drugs, drinking and following Levey to do as thou wilt. But, O love rock.
Metal is a fucking religion. regardless of sexuality or race if you see a fuckin metal shirt on someone you just click and begin talking about the music. Especially if you have a battle jacket then its even a better conversation because you have so many bands to mention and then a special bond begins to happen. its amazing experience. Metal is the best religion ever.
I'm proud to be a Christian Slayer fan too
Exactly!
Same, brother!
Same here lml.
TheAxe4Ever 100% agree.
Tom is a gentle soul.
No, he is evil👹
This was the most real interview I have seen of Tom Araya.
They say Tom araya's laughter is the cure to Corona virus
This comment needs to go viral!
Well put
Well put, mainstream society doesn’t understand metal. It is the music of a lifestyle and it’s what we are and who we r.

Tom is the coolest guy ever...
Such a friendly dude Tom, and such a good interviewer lil dude...SLAAAYER
Tom Araya ...an amazing amazing dude..great metal and a class act
The toughest looking guy is usually the softest heart 👊🔥
this kid asked some real good questions better than adults !!
The artists seem to enjoy this interview way more than the "adult/professional" interviewers
1504Shawn I think it's because kids ask more interesting questions like "if you could rid the world of one thing". And adults ask more generic questions
Hope Gruhamed gets the memo
This kid is a good interviewer and isnt negative like so many interviewers are. Agenda driven journalism angers the people being interviewed. Look at Anselmo and his run ins then watch him chill with this little dude.
I have told people for years that Tom was down with God and no one believed me.... There you go people
@Steve Well, there is no evidence of such "things", but same You can't disprove the existance of immaterial world relying on material tools, right? Therefore it's called belief, because You can't know it. You may just believe one way or another.
That was one of the best interviews I've seen.
justin thymes thanks!
Little Punk People Elliott, I've seen a lot of your interviews with some of the greatest musicians & great minds.
This interview you did with Tom Araya of SLAYER, has now made you solid.
And how Tom was talking wisdom with you.
Cherish it... because once you get that kind of knowledge, no one can take it away from you.
Oh btw, I totally dig on your last interview with Body Count.
Okay Little Punk Dude, you can level with this Big Punk Dude... did you bring those Uncrustables for Ice-T to munch on?
Funny 😆😆😆😆😄
Before I go, I've got a band of the legendary 80's multitudes:
interview Joe Escalante, Warren Fitzgerald, Dave Quackenbush, & Josh Freese of The Vandals.
And when you get with them, you tell them Jonny Phoenixx, a/k/a Da Foilman From Maui sent you. 🤘🤘🤘👍👍👍✌✌✌
Jon-Eric Phoenixx
Jon-Eric Phoenixx kid you are amazing. great line of questioning. brings the inner cjild out of all of us. kep up the good work
It makes me so happy just because of how nice Tom is, even though he's in such a "scary" band. Love you Tom.
Best interview I've seen in years. Way to go kid, you're killing it.
Tom has the best laugh in Thrash Metal history along with Bobby Ellsworth
Drunken Skulls You quite right about that.🤘🤘🤘
Drunken Skulls what about James hetfield?
Ryan Murphy i was thinking the same thing lol
Scott Ian has a pretty hilarious laugh too, but Tom tops his for sure
Big 4 of Laughing : 1.James Hetfield 2.Tom Araya 3.Bobby Ellsworth 4.Scott lan
The way he says, "What's up punk little dude!" makes me laugh my ass off lol
Somehow Eliot got one of the best Araya interviews ever. I think this is my favorite LPP video to date
South of Heaven was my first Slayer album. I bought it when it first came out back in 1988. I was 18 years old then. After watching this interview of Tom Araya, I’m even more of a bigger fan. He’s Tom Araya is good person by heart.
Tom put realistic thought into every question before answering. He showed this young man mad respect! 🤘🏻😎
This is Awesome!! This little kid interviews better than most MTV or professional Media folks. This kid is honest and very fun and I find it very interesting and Awesome! No Bullshit here, just plain good old fashion fun questions. I love it. I also love how Tom interacts with kids. Much respect to him behind the scenes. Gotta love the guy. Keep these videos coming. GRRREAT!!!
Elliot is an awesome dude. He is proof that metal will touch the lives of younger people and hopefully itll make our future a little brighter
That was the best interview i've seen in a long time!, the kid has a way getting the real person out of the "rockstar", it also helped that tom is a top bloke, with both feet on the ground, as real as it gets. Keep up the good work little dude. All the best matey.
South of Heaven is a killer album. Seasons in the Abyss is kick ass too.
And show no mercy, hell awaits and reign in blood
REIGN through SEASONS for me. Like a metal testimony. Love SLAYER, have purchased their albums and shirts and gone to the shows. I am grateful to them for being dependable. They didnt sell out. Ever.
Parents: Tom Araya is full of hate.. 😠
Me: Uh, watch this. :')
This kid is brilliant. Better than 99% of music journalists.
He's fucking reading questions, which somebody shows him off of camera
@@dres3456 i think its more like type of questions he asked and he also let the interviewee to answer the questions, unlike other journalist who is often to interrupt the interviewee and not giving them time to answer question
0:12 Yeah, that's Tom
What a man. It's impossible to hate him
Little punk dude: What is your vision of what hell looks like?
Tom: Ah, I wrote a song about it. Muhahahaha!
How can you not like Tom, what an interview!
Metalband members are literally the best people on the planet. Not just because they play metal but because theyre so down to earth
GOD LISTENS TO SLAYER!
Cathyn McKenna God is in slayer...and his name is Tom
YES !!!🤘
God hates us all
GOD listens to everything, including slayer
Cathyn McKenna "GOD" iS DIMEBAG DARRELL FKN ABBOTH
People who make extreme music are sometimes the coolest and most down to Earth people. Tom is the proof, a pure legend
I love it when Tom smiles he’s a very happy man
Mad respect to Tom, for how he handled the question about how people treat one another.
Such a lucky kid getting to meet all the musical icons. Great interview man, keep doing these thing!
So true to himself. I love how he talked about the music industry, about Jeff/Kerry and about personal life. This is going to my favorites
My eyes got all wet half way thru this interview. I love Tom!
Very humble and honest guy, huge respect! 🤘🏾
Young gentleman is asking very insightful questions. I think he'll do fine later on in life.
Great interview elliott and tom! When I was growing up this man embodied thrash metal, satan, death and darkness and now i'm a dad and see a nice, gentle and warm bloke with a particularly large grey beard! He is morphing into slash-gandolff-devil threesome love child

So sweet & so insightful.
Tom, is an awesome human being.
Loves his wife & kids.
It's so obvious.
Thanks for this
When you asked about Jeff Hanneman, thats pretty awesome, good interview dude
I love how he takes every question serious and gives his honest thoughts in full detail rather than answering the kid's question with one or two word replies. Tom is the man.
This little man has Tom nearly speechless!! Some amazing and thought provoking questions. Dont let this dude near the President! Tom is such a class act, they way he gives his time and personality to these young journalists.
I met Tom Araya once, h'es the same, absolutly charming
Not only a great frontman but a very down to earth character. Love you, Tom; Love you, Slayer.
Gotta love Tom's big honest smile. Super nice guy...

hi
Hope Dave Mustaine and Joey Belladonna comes next . Then the whole big 4 singers wouldve been interviewed.
I really hate no abhor how Tom gets picked apart when all he's ever done is give us phenomenal music! I am hoping to assist getting help to Kentucky to see Slayer live first last time but thank you all! Stay metal for eternity! God loves metal! Thank you Tom and the great reporter as it was great giving strength knowing right path!
It’s nice to see that Tom takes this interview seriously. Usually when there’s kids in the mix people kindof ‘dumb things down’ and answer the questions as they feel is fit responding to a child, but Tom answers all the questions straight up.
This kid is awesome!
Asks better questions than most adults. Really get the feel of what's going on with the band. How much he misses Jeff. In the writing process. Kerry King is a sick lead but the foundation was always Tom & Jeff.
Honestly I have to say this is very unique side of Tom in the aspect that he gave some very honest and sincere answer to Elliot especially about humanity. I completely agree with him about how the world itself will just continue to be violent towards each other. Thank Elliot for the great interview with Tom... hats off to you little dude! And Tom.... thank you for the sincere and honest answers.... you have always been a dear friend to me and all the fans worldwide!!
I love this lil dude!!! He so articulate, respectful, funny and u can tell hes going to have an amazing future in whatever he does in life.
Seruously, his parents should write a mannual and publish it on how to raise an awesome kid!
this young lad really brings the warmth out of these frontmen... some of the best metal reviews i have ever witnessed. fascinating stuff
Great interview. I used to love Slayer. It’s really cool to see Tom in this light.
That said, something he mentioned about ghosts being spirit guides - if the ghosts are spirit guides meant to help guide us, they’re not doing such a good job, especially having heard him talk about how he doesn’t see things getting better.
Regardless, thank you for posting this interview.
