    Covering sports in a unique way since 2018.
    If you’re looking for high quality sports content, then this is the channel for you! I’ve covered Baseball (NCAA, LLWS, Professional), Football (NCAA, NFL), Softball (NCAA), Basketball (NBA, NCAA), Hockey (NHL), and much more!
    The best part of my work as a RUclipsr is being able to provide coverage of sports that may not receive as much attention as they should to the large audience I have built over the years. Many of the sports I cover aren't posted by any other RUclipsrs, which makes this channel that much more important.
    One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I've adopted two different styles, one with logos on the left and a game snapshot on the right, and the other with the logos in the middle and game snapshots representing both teams on either side.
    I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

Also, during the season these kids play two or three games a week. Try playing 14 or 15 in a row for several months, travel half of them to different parts of the country, stay in hotels, without having to keep yourself in check. I live in Japan, right across from a baseball field where junior high teams practice and have games. Many of the players have played in little league. The dedication to continually practice is very impressive, and the level of skill the kids often show is wonderful. Some players out of high school go directly into the Japan major league draft. The annual high school tournament is really a big thing with the whole country watching and pulling for their respective teams. Bench clearing brawls are very rare if ever, ha!

    • @JTA1961
      @JTA1961 2 месяца назад +1

      Do the junior high kids still have to play with the "rubber " ball ? They did when I lived there...&...so...were very eager to play little league with a "real" ball

    • @f9qo
      @f9qo 2 месяца назад +1

      Gee, good question, I haven't looked that closely at the ball, or if I did I don't remember. I think it is a hard rubber coated ball, probably to save on the cost of having to use frequent replacements. Metal bats are still standard. I have a story about youth baseball here. I grew up by a park in California and played ball myself, so I enjoy watching the kids practice here and in games, and I can hear the activity from my window. One coach that often had his team practicing and having games here, was being really language aggressive towards his players if he didn't like their performance, yelling at them in a loud voice and using some rather disrespectful words. I got fed up and went out there to confront him, saying that there are people living around there if he hadn't noticed, and the way he was loudly expressing himself was being rather disturbing, and he needed to quiet it down. I didn't say anything pertaining to the benefit or lack of with his teaching method towards his players. He mumbled a rather gruff acknowledgement to my complaint. Those players were very young, and obviously some are more skilled than others, and mistakes are going to happen, to coach like that was really being over the top. The next day as I was watching the kids before leaving for work, another coach that had been there the previous day and observed my speaking with the loudmouth coach, came up to me and thanked me for saying something to the guy. I don't know why he wouldn't have said something himself, but he said that it was currently a bit of a problem with the youth baseball, that is some of the coaches being overly aggressive towards the kids, and there was some concern happening about it, with parents I suppose. This was a few years ago. So, I guess the bottom line is that amongst the coaches, there is generally a high expectation of how well the kids can learn to play, and indeed the ambitious training can give very good if not remarkable results, but at the same time, not all the kids are similarly gifted towards learning the sport, so the teachers also need to be sensitive to the intellects of these young guys wanting to play. Knowing that some of that type coaching might still be going on, it would detract somewhat for my respect for youth baseball here. An old saying in Japan, "A hard teacher is a good teacher", but there is a limit to that, especially with kids.

    Man these teams are good. A couple of things stood out to me. That Venezuela catcher is fantastic defensively. Next, the play they made in the second with runners at second and third and a dropped third strike. The awareness of that catcher to pump and not throw to first is tremendous, and for the players to be ready in in position for it. It was flawlessly executed. That is GREAT coaching. I coached at the high school level for a while and tried to practice that play time and again, and they'd often not get it right in games. Sometimes, sure, but for these 11 and 12 year olds to execute like that is very impressive.
    It is on my bucket list to go to a LLWS with my boy. Love the talent, the atmosphere. It just looks like it would be a lot of fun to attend.

      Contacting the pitch with a foot touching the plate is only illegal in NCAA and FED. It is legal in OBR and LL as long as the foot is not completely outside the box when contact is made. That batter's heel was touching the line which makes him legal.

      Fun fact: When baseball was introduced to Japan in the late 1800s, if you flinched before getting hit by a pitch, you didn’t get to go to first, because you lacked the courage to take a pitch without flinching.

    The leadoff batter for Japan in the 5th inning should have been called out, not awarded first base. He was outside of the batters box with his front foot, putting half his body over the plate, and never made a move to attempt to get out of the way. It's a shame he was the winning run.
