Full description of how I got these videos:
I discovered the viral "I Feel Fantastic" video a year or so ago, and immediately became interested in how it came to be. After a little searching, I found that the first available reference to it online is here:

I highly suggest you look through the whole archive yourself, as.there are some other projects there that are quite... unique. Also be careful about checking the dates, as Mr. Bergeron changed the text and added/deleted pictures in fairly quick succession. Here is the description of Tara at one point, in his own words:
"Android prototype
Named "Tara", after the mathematical significance of 'tera'.
Uses:
1. A display, for theme parks, trade shows, advertising.
2. Research, for computer vision processing or AI human interaction, etc.
3. Home use, for entertainment.
Tara has an ELECTRIC personality.
You can be in complete control of this android.
4. Security. One human operator can remote-control several androids,
while remaining safely in a more secure location.
Male and other android appearances possible.
Provides deterrence and a friendly appearance.
5. Music videos, or live music performances (especially if modified first)."
There's a lot more technical specifications after that, but that's the segment I found most interesting...

On a whim, I decided to order the DVD, and forgot about the whole thing. A few months later it arrived, to my surprise, and now here we are! I've included some images as visual proof below. Well she feels fantastic so...
She was made by John but not in the way you all think.
She was created by John as a prototype for a singing robot project (had she been successful, she would've been the closest to what a Vocaloid is and possibly earn the same fame as Hatsune Miku), but gave up because of how difficult it was and how hard it is to configure the mannequin, which is why he can only turn the head and hands.
Tara's voicebank is extremely limited, which gives her a creepy, monotone sound. It's either that or John is very bad at tuning her.
The only problem is that John is limited in his resources when it comes to music, and it shows that he's not well versed in filmography, which is why his videos come off as creepy.
The scenic shots that were shown in a few of his videos the most notable one in I Feel Fantastic, are done for a cinematic effect and not as a subliminal message.
He also works on other projects as well such as QUASARMUSIQ.
A friend of his mentioned that John was devastated because he is being harassed online and being called a murderer and wishes for his name to be cleared of the false accusations.
Please, make this comment blow up and let's clear John Bergeron's name once and for all.

I see a lonely guy who considers himself an amateur roboticist with some knowledge of music who wanted to show off his creations with music videos, but didn’t have enough money or editing ability to make it look impressive, resulting in the low budget quality that makes it so unsettling to people. He probably spent so much time getting the mannequins to move and sing correctly that he didn’t notice how creepy it looked to people not used to seeing them. He shared his work on the internet, thinking it might get him a job, or maybe just sharing his hobby. I don’t think he’s mentally ill, nor do I think he’s intentionally trying to creep people out. He’s just a little weird, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

When you compare that to the cost of more sophisticated robotics projects, that is quite a small budget. So he could very well be in a poorer financial situation. But then again, I'm not John Bergeron so I wouldn't know 😂
Fun fact: This is made by a guy without criminal past or criminal future. He was just android maker, and because in the past there was not any resourses to make adroid out of this is what he made. Creepy parts (excluding android itself) are probably the guy making fun of his creation because how creepy it is.

what a beautiful creation. it makes me so deeply sad that both Tara and her creator, John, were so severely misunderstood and misinterpreted. this was never something bad but rather something amazing. thank you John for your incredible creation. as a huge lover of animatronics I just adore Tara. I wish it didn't have to go the way it did, with all the fear and accusations. this was a wonderful project and I love it dearly
For real. She's such an interesting project and it's all such an interesting story from the Web2.0 days. I heard about her after the project breached containment but before all the serial killer rumour bullshit. Maybe nowadays more people can see something a bit unusual without having to sensationalise it.

He intended for the videos to be unsettling. The outdoor darkness, physical appearance of the robots, and background "music" give it away.
It looks creepy because this was rumored to be made during 1999-2001. There wasn’t advanced technology back then. The scene of the outside backyard is not because of a body buried there, but it was like a transition for the song. John is also not a “murderer”, he is married and is doing fine. The robot was just intended for a project, or something, but that’s all the info I can find about this.

Fun Fact: "I Feel Fantastic" is made by a man (John), the video is about how fantastic you are, he made the robot for a video (or maybe a musical). Tara, had a bad voiceover or voice box, making the video terrifying and scary to watch, making it traumatizing to other kids. But in real life, John, isn't a murderer, and this video wasn't meaning of murder, the robot had some mistakes with her voiceover, which led making it terrifying, and she's really nice! But the last part where it shows to a forest, isn't where the "victims" are located. Basically that's where Tara poses a heart making this the ending, but instead her creator (John) decided to show it randomly, with no explanation. Many people think this is a meaning of murder, the clothes? Maybe the closet or newly bought.

But when you com to the origins the person who made this wasn't tryin to make it creepy he just wanted to show off what he made. I don't think it was filmed at night, I'm pretty sure there are black curtains/sheets taped over the windows, take a closer look at them.

Okay, so, I think I have an idea as to why Mr. Bergeron chose to include those weird backyard shots in these music video. So, as it says in the description, on his old homepage Mr. Bergeron included a short description of Tara and her capabilities, and one of the things he listed was that 'a human operator can remote-control several androids, while remaining safely in a more secure location'.
Seeing as some sort of wiring is visible in the backyard shot, I believe he included it to showcase how far away a human operator could be from the android, to the point of being outside the home where the android is being housed.

I don’t care what anybody says. This is one of my favorite RUclips videos ever made. It’s so unique, enigmatic, bizarre, and I love anything strange or ‘artsy.’ (And I LOVE anything to do with A.I., robots, androids, etc.)
This doesn’t give me a feeling a vibe or “pretentiousness,” or attempting to be ‘edgy.’ I see a legit creation, an experiment and/or tech demo that’s pretty damn impressive that one man made this all by himself.
And...I feel bad for John Bergeron. I’m not sure he’s aware of how many people like myself are legit fans of his work, and genuinely admire it, instead of just calling him at home, being so pushy and some were flat-harassing him. I sense he was embarrassed and all that notorious spooky stories & creepypastas made him feel like his work was misunderstood...just an observation.
If this was just a fun thing for him, that’s awesome. But if it was the beginning of him seeking a career in engineering and building robots/androids, I really hope the Internet hasn’t dissuaded him from pursuing it.

I remember this doll totally terrified me when i first saw the videos, and actually started my doll phobia. My friends liked to tease me about it and sent things like a pic of the dolls breast to mess with me. And I remember being so terrified of this doll that even just that pic of its shirt made my sight like go red. But today I built up the courage to watch the videos again and I felt absolutely nothing, I even thought the music sounded pretty nice. So I was dead scared about even the mention of the doll for years up until this day, and now I’m free :)

Explains why there's so many windows so close together, and outdoor looking furniture. A lot of porches like that have ceiling fans too so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary

Honestly, i can see why my IT teacher wanted us to watch this. This is a masterpiece! It is indeed a tad bit creepy but it puts in perspective how amazing technology is! It’s hard to create a machinery or a robot that works and making one that can sing and move takes a lot of effort even with all of today’s technology. So instead of focusing on how creepy this video is let’s give John a big thumbs up for all of his effort! 👍
