But we had good times as well as bad. People are surprised when they hear the stuff Matt's saying here, even today. Managed to get on a contract in AFGN 2012. When we came home on leave most families had absolutely no idea what was happening and we never talked about it. The pensions we get are rubbish and a council worker gets much more.

An individual with a huge amount of expertise and experience. And a lot of respect for it. Clearly an excellent entrepreneur and highly respected professional within the close protection and high risk security industry.
A very enjoyable interview with a very sophisticated and established individual. Wishing him well with his health, which clearly was another challenge that he put a lot of thought into. Impressive.
His relaxed demeanour belies a sharp level of expertise and thinking. And immediately puts the people listening to him at ease with his natural and confident delivery.

Shame on us all for allowing this to happen to our military veterans…did we not learn from previous conflicts…obviously not !…..When I listen to this excellent interview I feel ashamed…..Ashamed that a special forces soldier is treated so atrociously at the end of their active service whilst at the same time listening to all those moaning, groaning and complaining teachers, train drivers and junior doctors banging on about how “hard done by” they are are… if they took the time to reflect on Matt’s life and contribution perhaps they would all shut up and realise that there are other unsung heroes who give so so much more to our society without bitching and going on strike !!

Imagine how many of these silent hero’s have taken out these dirty scumbags, that we don’t even know about. Gives me chills. The SAS/SBS is nothing short of fascinating! At least in my opinion. I’m obsessed with these guys and the psychology and being the hardest and most dangerous people on the planet… love it!!!

@@paulprice929 I agree. Lazy cockneys say 'Derry.' But if a legendary SAS Cockney says 'Derry'. Then it must be so

Brilliant podcast, not keen on the gangster ones at all tbh but ex-serving soldiers are always the best ones. Ask an ex-SAS/SBS about Group 13's apparent role in security services if true?

Just look at how many barriers of peace have sprouted in our high streets and in front of every building that should give us an idea of the level of internal threat we have allowed to develop in our country

“They just charged at us! Screaming like devils”
    - words of an Argentine soldier on the receiving end of that Paras attack they talked about in the beginning
