Well done on the final part of this interview - the support and wellbeing of our soldiers needs to be discussed, not just the operational side. Glad you spent time on that, great listening and interviewing skills. Don't shy away from speaking about cancer, that's a tough discussion but needs to be aired because it affects so many people.

My jaw dropped when he said his pension as a SM in the most elite fighting force in the world after a lifetime of service was only 1200 quid 😨 loved the pod Dodge & enormous gratitude to Matt for his service.
I was a reservist and whilst I was deployed the army matched my civilian wage. I got paid more than a Captain as a private. They get paid next to nothing, it’s ridiculous.
Seriously, tell me about pension, is not right? All I did in life was print the daily Telegraph on Guardian newspaper. I’ve got retired on the grounds of ill health walked away with over half £1 million pension. The world has gone mad if that’s the truth. Quick message to the government sort this out bang out of order. If any member of Parliament got kidnapped, who would they want to come to rescue you of course, the British special forces, SAS SBS. Remarkable people. Members of parliament I put forward these guys get double what I got for God sake, I’ve just printed newspapers
People like Matt are almost a different species. Most of us are so domesticated and weak that they're operating on a different level than the rest of us. Huge respect, and as always superb interviewing skills Dodge.
Uncle Matt is a 22 legend. Met him few times. He is a solid sterling top brother, He does loads still for the lads and veterans. Massive Big up to the "Mr blue sky". Many Thanks Uncle and Dodge, nice one.

Ive been watching this channel almost non stop the last few day's. Absolute fantastic production and Dodge does a wonderul job of interviewing his guests without being condescending or asking inappropriate questions that mainstream media tend to do. Been thoroughly enjoying the SF interviews the most. Thanks Dodge, keep up the good work
This was one of the best podcasts I've seen, you wouldn't think he was ex SF. Very humble guy. I was in the Scots guards in the 80,s and only once met the SAS on the border in a checkpoint and to look at them you wouldn't know.
A TON of those UK special forces guys went through Junior Para... It was apparently extremely brutal and they eventually shut it down, but it produced a bunch of very hard "old school" SAS guys. Fascinating.
Another fantastic interview dodge 👍 Matt is a lovely guy who went to the very top WO2 SAS 👌 Absolutely appalling how the bosses turned their backs on him & his family when he got ill So good he’s now ok 🙏🏻

Absolutely superb interview Dodge. So interesting and Matt delivered it brilliantly. I could listen to his stories for hours. Thank you both, keep up the good work. 👍🏻
Was in the province the same time as Matt, 1980s and done five years (never met Matt) in HQNI, Derry/Londonderry, Belfast, Omagh. It was a war and everything this man says is true. But we had good times as well as bad. People are surprised when they hear the stuff Matt's saying here, even today. Managed to get on a contract in AFGN 2012. When we came home on leave most families had absolutely no idea what was happening and we never talked about it. The pensions we get are rubbish and a council worker gets much more.
Another brilliant interview Dodge. Massive respect to Matt Hellyer. If I have one point to make about this it’s that the UK Govt should be totally ashamed of the way our veterans get treated after they leave their service to our country. £1200/month pension after what these guys did is a total p*ss take!
We've welcomed in the Caliphate, they're currently staying in hotels all over the country. Our alert level is 'substantial'. I'd have loved to have heard his take on this.
Fantastic insight and advice from Matt. He is on point about the support required for those leaving the forces. There needs to be many more of him out there helping Veterans transition, as well as managing the extra issues such as PTSD that can come with that. An individual with a huge amount of expertise and experience. And a lot of respect for it. Clearly an excellent entrepreneur and highly respected professional within the close protection and high risk security industry. A very enjoyable interview with a very sophisticated and established individual. Wishing him well with his health, which clearly was another challenge that he put a lot of thought into. Impressive. His relaxed demeanour belies a sharp level of expertise and thinking. And immediately puts the people listening to him at ease with his natural and confident delivery. He is the sort of person who, with very little effort, could persuade a person to jump off Everest, without oxygen or a second parachute, comfortable and confident that they would be okay!
Hi @DodgeWoodall , am so glad I followed you. i love this isht. Brilliant podcast, not keen on the gangster ones at all tbh but ex-serving soldiers are always the best ones. Ask an ex-SAS/SBS about Group 13's apparent role in security services if true?
