This whole build makes no sense. To end up with a car he basically already has. If it was a 997 or 992 gen it would have been different obviously.
It will never be 100% straight to factory specs. Especially with the way they are doing it.

Why don't you use a normal 911 Carrera fuel tank so that you don't have to modify the tub ?

Because an RS engine will get you about 10 mpg and a Carrera tank is about 17 gallon capacity

pull the required part off the GT3RS like you mentioned. it looks in good shape.
Harbor freight sells spot weld drill bits . They don’t last super long but the are very handy. For the cheap cost, you can buy 20 of them and it makes spot weld drilling a heck of a lot easier.
I love all the videos but this one was different gravy, laughed pretty much the whole way through it!

I personally still think this thing needs full RS front end (atleast bumper and fenders) aswell as the interior. Definitely some Streethunter aero bits too, essentially a ‘TECHART’ style package similar to the ones for the base 992 GT3 and Turbo S. If this car is truly gonna be one of a kind underneath the covers, make it look the part too.

A handle held belt grinder is 10x faster at removing those rivits from the side of the panel you’re not using and will leave you as much aluminum as possible when fitting the new “used” tub to the car. I’m a master body tech. I wouldn’t use used parts in an insurance scenario but as a rebuilder. Is what it is. But always leave as much as possible on the doner part. Regardless. Yall are doing great.
The 991.2 GT3 came with either a regular gas tank or an extended gas tank. It is an option when you spec your car. By default it comes with regular tank

You can get a rivet removal tool which makes it much easier

Went from Dustin's shop down to TJ's shop. Probably 2 Porsches back to back weeks.
TJ said “how cheap can we do it” while ordering from the Porsche stealership instead of FCP Euro. I guess TJ “needs” the Porsche stamped receipts so it doesn’t affect the resale value in the near future. 🤷♂️😅

Definitely should’ve used a narrow belt grinder for the spot welds instead of drilling holes. Would’ve would you with NO holes to weld up and a clean surface to work with. 🤷🏼♂️ speaking from experience

Now this where we stop looking for people who done this, why not take that panel where the gas tank needs to go from the green car cause the inner tub is not damaged and install it to make the new tub work it may be time consuming but may work in a cheaper line light

Please remember that clutch is a self adjusting clutch and yes some can be installed like normal and work but most of the require the special tool in order for the self adjusting part to release correctly and not damage release bearing and pressure plate and make them unusable so it’s better just to use the tool for every self adjusting clutch/pressure plate 😁

I believe you can order the 911 with 2 different fuel tanks for extended range or a normal. So one i bigger then the other. Hope this can help

It’s also not seam sealer between the panels where they’re riveted. You’ll need 3m 8115 panel bond. You’re gonna make a rivet bond. Please use structural adhesive. Lol

Maybe you should have invited AdamC over from the UK to look at your JDM collection and got him to bring some parts over in his suitcase(s) as I'm sure Porsche will sell structural parts this side of the pond.
I hope this gets some sort of wide body kit, as that’s what makes your channel, cutting up expensive cars and wide bodying them

You can buy a clean manual gt3 for 160-170k, not much profit on a salvage one that’s going to cost you 130-140k after selling all of the parts.
