Good tips, but after visiting Cancun many times I prefer to pay for a more affordable hotel all inclusive because I don’t spend more than half of the time in the hotel. The best thing is to spend your money on tours/excursions and go out. $400 a night is too much specially if you want to enjoy Cancun which is more than just the Hotel!! Best hotel so far that is budget and all inclusive is Royal Solaris not a high fashion hotel but covers all your needs!!

The thing about pricing is not very true. In the Dominican Republic for example, there are some resorts that cost more than twice the price of an equal or better one. If the argument is to not cheap out, then why stop at $600/night? You can do 800, 1000 or however high is available. The fact of the matter is, you must always read the reviews to find the price-to-quality ratio before making a judgment. Cheers! :)

I assume she is quoting $400 a night for two people. If you actually break that down somewhere else it could be saving money all around. I figure a decent hotel is about $175 a night then you need to eat for two people 3 meals a day plus water, soda, coffee adult beverages and even a conservative price for that would be around $200 a day plus transportation to get to those locations to eat, drink etc. Plus the headache of deciding where to go, $400 to have it all planned is actually a bargain that saves you time. And there are less expensive places also.
