- We have been wanting to replace our daily driver IS350 for a while now. Finding a good/fun replacement has not been easy though haha. Let me know your thoughts between the 3 cars we looked at!
Thanks for watching!

I’ve owned two Mercedes and know several people with BMW, Audi, etc.
Let’s just say that after being stranded multiple times and bailing out other friends/family members that also got stranded by their German cars I now stick with Toyota/Lexus lol.
Tons of electrical problems. I use to tow them old and brand new. Not Lexus though 😂😂😂
I went from a 2016 IS350 FSport to a 2022 IS500 (both USB w/Red) and I personally dig the interior's continuity. When the 2021 was released, there wasn't enough for me to justify upgrading. However....the v8 was an entirely different calculus for me. 🙂 The IS500 is a heavy refresh, but is still a 3rd Gen and everything that makes your 2014 awesome...carried over. Why change for change sake? If it works, it works. The general rule of thumb; you buy a Lexus, lease everything else. You seem to be one who likes to keep his cars for a long time, so it is smart to include longevity in your decision. Good luck with whatever you choose!
Those are good points. I do like to keep my cars for a long time and that’s why deep down I still want to stick with Lexus. Thanks for the comment!
Get the IS500. It’s all about the engine and reliability. Last of its kind!
Outdated ass interior. Yeah the exterior is better though
The b58 engine is same as Toyota supra and considered one of most reliable in the world currently. And way faster way better on gas ect.... and cheaper so yeah lexus failed huge.
That's just dismal sounding. When will it be about the actual car and driving or a new interior or something fun?
@@LorenzoC2314 If your entire purchase decision is based on the interior....................
@@EJ257IHI never said it was. There’s better options that have more speed and is more spacious and as well has a better interior. So no it’s not just interior
Bruv, stop being silly, i left a bmw 340i for the is 500 last year, best decision i ever made.
Lexus for the win!!
You know you got that right
I have had a few IS 350 in the past (2015, 2017 and 2021) but I can tell you, I have never once regretted going to the IS 500!! That car is simply amazing and is so well balanced between comfort and performance without being tiring to drive. Sure, it doesn't have the gimmicks and some of tech that the BMW has, but a naturally aspirated V8 RWD sedan is quite special, not to mention reliable as hell! In the end, it is purely a personal choice but I can assure you that you will not regret getting the 500 :) Best of luck and keep us posted.
Nothing beats a naturally aspirated classic V8. Lexus wins all around. Just add a Borla exhaust to the IS500 and it's a perfect car. Your friend's an annoying backseat driver by the way lol.
IS500 with a custom exhaust will put a smile to your face everyday, trust me! Plus it looks so much better/aggressive.
Also the read end looks sick at night.
GT Haus sounds amazing on is500, it is pricy tho
Have you looked at a used M550i? You get the AWD AND a V8 with amazing tech and interior.
I would Love GS F Bigger Rear seat and stuff, Lexus need to learn, If they make IS 500 with Hatchback, people might love more.
I made the switch from German performance (F10 M5, ML63 AMG) to a '23 IS 500. Still own a GLA 45 AMG as well. The M & AMG cars are unmatched for performance but will require more frequent fixes & costly repairs than a Lexus. They're simply not very durable or reliable since they're built for performance first, reliability/quality second. Lexus prioritizes reliability/quality first then performance. So if you can be dedicated about the repairs & added costs, then the trade-off you'll make to get the performance will be worth it. I personally grew tired of it after 10 years.
I test drove a 2020 M340i RWD and that torque band is insane from 1200 RPM onward, I agree with you on the infotament system and interior design. The M340i is a generation ahead of Lexus.
However my problem is that I tend to keep a car for a long time (10+ years) so depreciation, long term reliable as a car over all (B58 is no doubt a reliable motor) become one of my top pick
The M340i def quicker than Lexus but in 10 years that car will be a $10k car, I can't stand making payment and watch the car depreciate from $70k. So what I do?
I went and bought a 2016 Lexus GSF Matador Red Mica with 66k miles on the clock, price was half of the original MSRP ($87k). Interior had held up quite nice, material of choice is a grade above the IS500.
The attention to small detail in the cabin (IMO) only rival by LFA and LC500. The chassis is a design all by itself from the ground up as a true F product (beside the LFA)
that V8 is WELL WORTH IT!!!!!!! I want an ISF or IS500 EVENTUALLY but the GSF is the way to go!!!!! GSF is super super RARE!
I see you. And this was me and my wife doing the exact same thing. I had and is 200t
Test drove BMW , Acura TLX, Infiniti ,
My last test Drive was a 2022 Is 350 Fsport in caviar color that one i took home Why? ok. BMW was awesome The Acura TLX interior was ufff very very nice. But my money was with the Lexus is Why ?
Resale and reability and also the new is. feels different when driving it’s just great and fun car
A Lexus is nice until you own a BMW. Of course you have to be mindful of any issues and get an extended warranty if you plan on keeping for an extended time.
You'd regret leaving Lexus for sure haha.
I currently own a 2015 Lexus IS 350. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the current heavily face lifted IS still has that traditional looking cabin and switch gear.
If I could afford it, the IS 500 would be in my garage.
IS500 all day.
-IS500 owner.
The new m3/m4 are in a category of their own. Those things are legit supercars. Lexus are cool but the only one thats caught my eye is the lc500. If i had to choose between the m340i and is500 id go m340i everytime. The b58 engine is insanity and super reliable.
I feel the same way you do about Lexus vs BMW. BMW is a better short term car. Lexus is a better investment if you can a used one a few years old. You can drive the wheel of that thing
the v8 worth the difference between 350 and 500 price tags. if you only drive on comfort mode, then there is no difference. but again if you only drive in comfort mode, maybe prius is enough....
I really want a G80 M3 comp or a IS500 both are dope ass sedans
They don't compete directly against each other. IS500 competes with the m340i. Not the M3. The chassis and suspension are more or less the same as the IS350 F-Sport with minor differences. It only has the engine from the RCF and a slightly de-tuned transmission from the RCF. Price wise, there is a $30K difference at least depending on how the cars are spec'ed.
@@2ZZGE100 I know complete different cars it’s just I’m choosing between the two and not sure what I like more but recently been leaning towards the BMW side but now I’m thinking about an M5
@@2ZZGE100 Absolutely though🙏
@@DragSlicks Got it. Just as making a point, the price gap is pretty big with the competition M3. It is something like $100K vs $70K. Cheers!
You will be regretting leaving Lexus. BMW M5 so fun to drive and top up all technologies. ( currently own ). However, definitely not reliability and high cost to keep for long time. Just think about it. Good luck with your search
IS500 was a no brainer for me. I went from a Stinger GT1 to an IS500. The tech may be better in the M340i and its faster, but those weren't priorities for me. That ultrasonic blue is an amazing color when polished.
Good luck on your search.
i also had a Stinger (GT2) and went to an RS3, didn't like it because its just not emotional at all. I am now shopping for an is500😂
I think you should definitely get one of those bmws, they look sweet.
I'd do the is500 just because i never had a lexus but im actually looking to get an rcf this year, i also thought of bmw but i just have bad history with cars always breaking down on me so thats why im sticking to lexus for now im tired of doing crazy repairs on cars. Look forward to see what u get
is500 is a bit too cookie cutter feel to me. i recently picked up and rcf and am in love. definitely look into a F car.
You should try the BMW for a while but you'll eventually go back to the lexus....it's a learning curve thinggie :)
I dont get why people hate the lexus interior. My previous car doesnt even come close. Lexus interior doesnt have to much spaceship buttons or that 80s/90s interior. Its perfect to me.
Well, exactly. It depends what car u are coming from and what u have owned. Coming from a toyato to lexus its obviously nice too u and an upgrade. But from other brands it's not.
bro car is not broken in yet and you going full throttle. wdf is that .
Big fan from south Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦
🇿🇦🤝🙏
5gs for your 350??? Wtf that's such a lowball offer. What year is it??
Bro when selling your old car, always.. I repeat always! Start by taking it to carmax. They normally always offer you top dollar for your car. Like 9x out of 10 they will give you top dollar. Also you should check out the new m2. Or the genesis g 70 top spec’d out
I should mention that I recently bought a 2020 3series and I’m in love with it. Hands down the best car I’ve had. I took my 2017 Mazda 3 to car max to sell it and they gave me 16000 for it.
I chose the IS500 and I’m not sorry.
Man that M3 fit believe me 🔥
run flat tires ?
They are not worth 72k the price for a premium with everything is $65-68k out the door
I get the appeal of the IS500, but I don't get how the rest of the car being totally outdated is excused away. People keep saying it's reliable, uh don't you think if you had an engine from 2008, that it would be reliable by 2023? That isn't an accomplishment. Make a totally new car reliable and then you've got something to boast about. There is no excuse for the interior, it doesn't have anything to do with reliability when other Lexus models have far newer interiors. I have to believe this was a stopgap facelift until they come up with a truly new car in a few more years. I mean otherwise why not at least try to update the tired interior? The newer Lexus interiors blow this antique away. Imagine this V8 and the turbo V6 in an all new IS500 and IS350. They've been building this same car since 2006, with the V6 from 2006 and the V8 from 2008. It's pathetic. Go for the GS-F.
Just buy the BWM. We wanna see you crying about the upcoming hustle of it 😂😂😂😂😂😂
you want reliability you go lexus
I personally would go for the is500
Alfa ?
The lexus all day.
I'm getting one this week, now I understand the frustration with the Lexus interior, its gonna look really OLD if you're already used to the previous interior. As a first timer to sit on the IS lineup, it definetely felt premium and luxury.
I also tested out BMW, sure they all had that great tech, but felt more of a computer / gaming dashboard unlike the Lexus that gives out that luxury feel.
redsport400 ftw lol fr tho
Be a benz boi in the near future? 😂🤷🏻♂️
No wayyyyyy hahaha
Idk why you think bmws are unreliable. I have an s 13 and s14. I also have an e36 and f80 m3. The Nissans are the ones that break the most
It’s not just bmws but german cars in general. You can’t compare shitbox s chassis with f80 haha. Everyone I know with bmws has problem after problem with them. What I mean is a 2020 japanese car will outlive a 2020 german car 3x and that’s just facts 🤷🏻♂️
@@AlexMelnik okay yeah you make a good point
GSF is the move. BMW is faster......but c'mon it's a BMW. Unless you get a siiiick warranty I'd never consider a new/newer BMW
I love BMW’s but I’m sticking with my Japanese cars…. Never have a Japanese car problem…. 4 bmw…. Issues
IS 500 is the best option for reliability. BMW . Yes. Has more tech upgrades but in the long run when warranty runs out maintenance and repairs are going to kill you. Repairs are very expensive on BMW's. The GS F you'll have to get a used one since thwy did away with it. RIP . AT $72K for that IS 500 that dealer is over pricing it. Im waiting for my IS500 to cine in. Im getting mine for $63.5. Good luck my man..
Lexus 200,000 + miles with no major issues at all
Lexus IS500
Strait 🔥
If you want a driver's car, then buy the BMW. If you want a reliable car with a cushy ride, buy the Lexus.
you need a GSF
IS500 -> own
BMW -> lease, and only lease
all the features in the bmw has been around in kias since 2010 especially the self parking lol. bmws are trash👍👍
BMW are overrated cars
