Not just Audi , I’ve rang a lot of garages about s5 and s3 and when I ask about gear box service it’s like I’m speaking a different language 9/10 never done
@@Chris-hw4mq I have purchased a golf mk6 gti from a company in Birmingham (not main dealership) but still a name that’s known and they didn’t tell me the car had a stage 1 remap and the remap was so bad it would cut the power while driving on motorways or accelerating which was very dangerous and this company refused to pay to get the remap sorted. I ended up returning the car. The car then ended up at a main Vw dealer and I am pretty sure they sold it on like that
@@macca2760 a Audi main dealer sold me a s3 that had never had a haldex service and when I took it to get one done at a different main dealer they didn’t put enough oil in and completely damaged the haldex and blamed the other main dealer for not doing a haldex service. They are full of it and most of these so called technicians don’t have a clue

That’s not how it works, despite how will explained it. A box map wouldn’t have saved it is what I’m saying. Failsafes are built into the gearbox and it’s actually best to leave them on rather than remove them. This was caused by overheating. Only way to stop that is to strengthen the box.

Had the same issue on my AUDI S4, audi basically replaced my DSG whihc they quoted 11K for the work. Luckily I had bought extrnded warranty to cover it
I got a saloon tech pack from Audi Nottingham 2017 it’s wicked same colour as the one you got from Nottingham Audi I’ve stage 2 tuned it pushing 409bhp

I did a stage one on my A3 TDI 2.0 435 NMT within a month fly wheel went cost me £700 😢 so fitted uprated sach clutch and fly wheel … people need to factor in possible extra cost due to a stage one when getting it
Nice video! You're basically paying VAT on the difference between 16.5 and 21k, meaning there's peanuts left if only for the VAT on the repair which you can reclaim, I'm hoping that the video will bring some revenue...
Mad, i paid 16500 for my mk6 golf r in 2018. Nowdays you can buy a newer s3. The vw dealer i got mine from had no clue mine was mapped. I later found out its got a stage 2 map on.
I am not a trader Calvin, however I have noted when buying a car from a main dealer say VW or Audi when you do a HPI check it will often come back with finance owing due to the Dealership taking out a short term loan to pay for it as stock., there is a name for it I am sure.

S3 stock clutches are made of chocolate. Exact same as the Golf R’s. Even a very safe stage 1 will make the clutch go due to the torque limits of the stock clutch
manuals have dodgy clutches, DSG clutch should be able to handle a stage 1 map as the box limits the torque through it UNLESS you get that mapped out on the box.

Red cars are what Calvin? When you buy mine you'll know you've got a good car, the auto gear box was on 94k, so I had that and the haldex serviced at Audi, and it's a high/low mileage car, 08 plate, soon the S3 rims will be refurbished too. 5k or swap n pay as I go deal

This is why you need to a genuine remap specialist who won’t mess up the gearbox or ruin the clutch
Clutches on these slip when standard, they need upgrading wheather it’s mapped or not

Parts were £1500 and there was £500 VAT in that bill which he will claim back. So it wasn’t far off that anyway for labour

So the clutch went due to the car being mapped. Was it a bad map or does the gearbox have to be mapped as well as the engine ?

This car clearly had a rear collision, a bad one 😂… sucker. It’s clear to see, just pause at 15:34. E.g. The boot lid paint job is sub standard.
