Here is a link to my blog about what I learned in the building process and why I built a speaker in the first place: johnespeaker.bl...
I built these for my B.R. TV/receiver.
Was expecting to need a sub right away cause of those tiny drivers, but I was pleasantly surprised.
They have a nice midrange and pretty decent bass, all things considered.
I will never be able to take you seriously as long as you try to keep making Tuba Jahn a thing.
You might try less fill I used about half a bag per cab and I think even less would be better! I glued a piece of quilt padding inside like a basket to hold the fill up behind the drivers. Great video I wish I had more patience to do more of these videos. Nice job!
You could have completed this job without using any screws for a much neater finish. You didn't tell us what you thought of the sound?
0:29 Loved that scene lol XD
Pretty cool dude!
Hi,what is your opinion about dayton audio dc130bs woofers?

You did not die in vain little box! I put "top" on my box sides because I was going to make the same mistake!
ITS FINALLY MONETIZED
It's no longer monetized. - several months late
I would have used a much higher grade of speaker CABLE, not dental floss wire, for the internal speaker connections. The sound (as recorded) is distorted and the diffraction is readily audible.
shut up meg !!
are you the stupid shit of the family or the bright one?
does it matter
That's what I thought you'd say.
LOL spoken like a true "audiophile"
good job I insulated my speakers like that and I felt they loss bass
Yes, less is better in most cases. I spent some time tweaking my speakers and found a small amount of foam behind the speakers in the corner area is all that is needed. There is some unwanted reverb without any damping but I added a little bit and it sounded rich, then added some more which killed the bass response. Also the builder did not knead the foam and it looks like he packed it way too dense. All things said, I think I used about six ounces worth out of the 2 pounds they supplied with the kit.
you built a horn loaded speaker and then stuffed the horn full of acoustic material and stuffed it up against the drivers. SMDH. Rookie mistakes abound. Also there is no reason to screw the panels together. Glue is enougn and allows you to make a better finised product
it's actually not a horn. it's a transmission line speaker

Sorry, not seeing the "horns" you incorrectly speak of. He actually built something. You couldn't even get it right DESCRIBING the item. He screwed them because it provides a much tighter fit and is sturdier in the end. All you have to do is fill the screw heads with wood filler and sand smooth. Besides, who leaves MDF as the final finish? These will either be veneered or have some other finish application applied.
