The major stat from the box score is the turnover differential. Two were in the end zone. Had they protected the ball maybe it would have been different. Chiefs played a clean and poised game.
@@sixgunn98 no doubt they probably took less risks and could have switched to shootout mode. I was just pointing out numbers and it came down to a team making mistakes versus one that did not. So the Ravens’ OC and head coach decided not to run the ball in the second half and rely on Jackson’s inaccurate throwing arm. John Harbaugh has been milking his Super Bowl win for too many seasons.

That just proved how good and valuable Josh Allen is. Give Josh that defence and Tucker and it's a different story. For those screaming about Josh and the Bills SuperBowl window being closed you certainly must feel Lamar's window has been shut.

@scottsodyssey2485 Is an interesting question. I am not sure of the answer. Quarterback's get all the praise and too much of the blame, usually. I'm not sure who should get the blame, As I don't know if it was the gameplan or just the players not executing.. I've heard arguments for both sides. This is the second time this group has had the best team in football and gotten beat at home. There has to be blame for both, but With the defense holding kansas city relatively in check, and having multiple opportunities to score a TD, I think the players get the blame more, bc they didn't get the job done. It's interesting that pete Carroll Got the blame on the INT at the goaline with the Seahawks. I don't have the perfect answer as towho should get the blame, but I think jackson is going to end up getting more of the blame than the coach., Set my because this is not the first time This has happened. The coach made it to a super bowl before I believe, So you could always say it's the player not the coach with that logic.
There is no quarterback in the NFL worth $23-260 million guaranteed contract. There is an expectation on the part of ownership and the fans, that this is a guaranteed ticket to the Superbowl. The only way Watson, Russel, and Jackson sees the Super Bowl is if they buy a ticket.
As a ravens fan. I’ve seen this movie before. John Harbaugh gets a new OC. They do great. Than in the biggest game of year. They change everything. Different OC. Same outcome. The common denominator. JOHN FREAKING HARBAUGH
Bengals fan here. Was looking forward to a good game and in some ways it really was because the passion from both teams was there. Some people are blaming Lamar for the loss but in my view, he gave his team a chance to win this year even though KC prevailed. He still didn't play perfect but he did give his team a chance. As many state, the Ravens lack of discipline killed them in the end (just like it did to my Bengals in 2015 vs. the Steelers). I will say in the past some have blamed Allen for losses the Bills took but in both KC playoff games Allen gave his team a chance to win. The bigger point here is you can't ascribe entire losses of a team to a QB as the media typically loves to do.

I agree with most of this, but I really think the Chiefs just came with a better game plan and more intensity. They took that comment that Raven made about "basketball on grass" after they kicked the Niners' asses, and turned it on them.
Second time in 4 years, Ravens have the best rushing attack in the league and decide to abandon it when it matters most. Complete coaching malpractice.

Maybe Spags and the Chiefs took the run away from Lamar, i.e., he didn't run because there were NOT any holes for him. Chiefs plan was: make Lamar pass.
This was the most blatantly one-sided officiating crew I've ever seen... The Chiefs game plan coming in was to play as dirty as they could to taunt and hit after every play... Because they knew the league was only going to call those penalties on the ravens.
I'll tell you in part what happened. The Chiefs went down the field a few times early and the OC for the Ravens took them right out of their MO of running the damn ball and bullying opposing defenses. One of the worst, most mysterious examples of a team getting away from what they normally do that I've ever seen, especially in a championship game. Then to top it all off, the Ravens pass heavy offense didn't react to all the KC blitzing, for unknown reasons. No screens, draws, slants, blitz beaters etc. Abysmal play calling and I'm not a Ravens fan fwiw.
FUNNY HOW RICH DOESN’T TALK ABOUT THE GUARD PLASTERING BRENT URBAN AFTER THE WHISTLE, INTERFERING WITH LIKELY BEFORE THE INT, KELCE TAUNTING AFTER EVERY PLAY… all in all, I now get why Bengals fans hate this team so much
I have been saying this for weeks now, but Lamar is not a real QB. He got totally exposed yesterday. He doesn't read the defense. Who throws into triple coverage in the endzone? He can't his receivers.
I'm gonna be a ravens fan starting today with the internet just having a feast of ignorance on them. I feel bad for them. Their coaches let them down. The players got pissed and showed it on the field.
That’s what a great defensive scheme does. It gets you out of your game plan. The Chiefs did exactly what they wanted to do.. And that is put the ball in Lamar’s hands…they knew he couldn’t beat them with his arm. Game over ! Best executed plan won and always does !!
Un-Ravenslike? Actually, that team has always been undisciplined and dirty. They are exactly who I knew they were. I thought that this year, maybe they got that BS under control, but when the light shines brightest, the cracks appear.
What happened to the Ravens has a lot to do with Spags and his decision to push his linebanckers into the line daring the Ravens to throw against the Chief's secondary.
I'm gonna pull a late Dennis Green. "Lamar Jackson is not who we thought he was, don't let'em off the hook" (I know the late Dennis Green said the Bears are who we thought they were, and we let'em off the Hook)
Nah, lifelong Chiefs fan here. Mahomes is a great QB, but anyone who thinks he deserves MVP this year with this season is wrong. Mind, I don't blame him for all those dropped passes and INTs. People like Lamar or Snead or Flacco should have it because they made a real difference for their team.
What happened? Andy Reid. He has a ton of strong playoff performance. He knows how to make 2nd half adjustments. Experience really counts in the post season.
The Ravens played the most childish game if seen in years. They reminded me of a local HS team that had extremely talented teams for years but always beat themselves with penalties, turnovers, and rockhead play. I saw Jackson described as Hall-of-Fame ready last week. Please. But of a team of goats, the biggest in my mind was Balt's #4--a taunting penalty and a fumble at the goal line from an unnecessary dive. What an idiot. And by the way, Clowney is awful.

Lol.. the Ravens came in as the leading rushing offense in the league, just signing Dalvin Cook and they only run SIX total run plays in the entire game, Cook getting 0 of those 6 carries, when the Bills ran for nearly 200 yards in them last week, knowing the Chief's run defense is weak? This game was clearly fixed. Taylor $wift was always going to be in the Superbowl with the 300 million dollars she brought in to the NFL.
Ravens coaches got played. They got scared because they went down early and didn’t keep running. SF offense is far too dynamic to get caught up like that, but KC offense will have success as well. 37-31 KC wins it methinks

Seems like every team that plays the Ravens in the playoffs has a great game plan to stop Lamar.
Spags is one of the best ever
Don't you get it? Spags took the run away from Lamar.
How? the run was averaging 6 yards a carry@@sixgunn98
Today is such a wonderful day to be a Steelers fan in Baltimore. Yes, everything feels wonderful today.
Yeah, since the Steelers haven’t won a play off game since 2016…but Tomlin is the bestest ever…😂
what happened to the RPO? that was their goto play for years. suddenly...
That’s the million dollar question that these pundits want to gloss over! This game isn’t all on Lamar it’s on the coaching staff!
Lamar was seeing his receivers covered up by the talented Chief secondary that played an outstanding game against the Ravens.
No, that receiving corps just sucks (Mark Andrews excepted) and has all through the Lamar Jackson era. What could Lamar do with a Tyreek Hill or J'Marr Chase?
@@waynetompkins3006
Nothing is what Lamar would do !! He’s overrated and will never win a Super Bowl!!
@Irishmule169 We'll see how well your comment ages. The same things were said about Elway, Peyton, Eli and Trent Dilfer.
@@waynetompkins3006Lamar still can’t throw btw yet y’all talking about the run
The major stat from the box score is the turnover differential. Two were in the end zone. Had they protected the ball maybe it would have been different. Chiefs played a clean and poised game.
Oce Chiefs were up 2 scores, their mission was BALL PROTECTION. An incompletion is fine compared to an interception. Think about it.
@@sixgunn98 no doubt they probably took less risks and could have switched to shootout mode. I was just pointing out numbers and it came down to a team making mistakes versus one that did not. It was a formula used by the Pats, get a lead play great D, run the ball and force mistakes. I guess it still works.
The chiefs are a pro team, Baltimore was a bunch of kids at their first game. They were kids playing men!
So the Ravens’ OC and head coach decided not to run the ball in the second half and rely on Jackson’s inaccurate throwing arm. John Harbaugh has been milking his Super Bowl win for too many seasons.
Never seen a kicker crowd the space of the opposing team trying to warm up . NEVER. Then when you add in all the other infractions/penalties, It looks very much calculated or choreographed and coordinated and spaced out throughout the game.... probably initiated by their coach, That is the only way you could get so many players to agree to it. The one where the defensive guy jumped off side? so egregious that he bowled Smith over? Completely preplanned. They thought they could get the chiefs off their game by intimidation. You can not convince me it wasn't all preplanned.... There can't be that much immaturity on one team.
Yep, that was ridiculous.
As an avid NFL fan I really thought Lamar was going to get a ring.
Now I wonder if he ever will.
He will never as long as Pat plays
Spoiler: he doesn’t.
Running QBs never win. 58 Super Bowls and counting now…
he's got a lot of Dak in him when it comes to the playoffs
This Punk doesn't deserve a ring he is awful in the playoffs always has been
That just proved how good and valuable Josh Allen is. Give Josh that defence and Tucker and it's a different story. For those screaming about Josh and the Bills SuperBowl window being closed you certainly must feel Lamar's window has been shut.
Gotta keep the emotions in check
Lamar is so gifted. Cool and calm he’s not. Lamar has been around for sometime. That wasn’t a veteran game…
No quarterback that hasn't won a super bowl deserves 200,000 million dollars in a contract. Especially Jalen hurts.
Lamar always hits the passes when his guy s 20 yards wide open after scrambling 10 seconds :-). But the DC of KC didnt allow that more than twice.
No one is giving the Chiefs D enough credit. They schemed to stop the run and their secondary simply told the Ravens…”not today”.
This was a winnable game for the Ravens.
They gave the game away. Epic collapse. Mass coaching failure.
@@andrewmichaellee yup Lamar Jackson was playing hesitant he could’ve took that game over
The game was fixed. John Harbaugh is a great coach and would never call 6 running plays. His hand was forced by the NFL who said “Taylor Swift must be at the Super Bowl”
At what point does the Harbaugh discussion start? Before it was Lamar doesn't have any WRs, okay they got him WRs. Then it was the OC sucks, okay they got him a good OC and put together an MVP season, won the divisional round with ease. So, when do we start looking at the HC? Is Harbaugh untouchable because of his name? Harbaugh's seat was warm and getting hot until he benched Flacco and put in Lamar. So, when does Harbaugh start taking some of this heat as the HC for coming up short?
Maybe you should be asking that question about the guy they've bent over backwards to accomodate, who continues to fail
@@TheMattTrakker Its a fair question. Andy Reid is a great play caller and offensive genius. Belichick built great Defenses his entire career. Shanahan is a dynamic offense scheme guy. Sean McVay, not quite as creative as Shanahan but in the same class. What does John Harbaugh do? What is he known for? Im being serious, at what point does he take some heat for coming up short?
After this game it's definitely time. It's been numerous times from both coordinators that we've abandoned our strength or haven't been able to adjust in big games. Harbaugh has to be able take control in game when needed we can't keep going out like this smh.
@@scottsodyssey2485
When will the $260 million choker take the heat ??. Not Harbaugh’s fault his quarterback can’t remember the playbook or even better study it !!
I think the issue was Lamar was too interested in trying to prove to irrelevant people that he could be a pocket passer.
Wrong time to do that.
And i guess he proved them right he's not a pocket passer every ball was under an over thrown
Is that why the leading rushing team only ran the ball 6 times, after signing Dalvin Cook? Game was clearly fixed..
He still can’t throw
@@hhaste1-4 against the Chiefs

Steve Spagnols is what happened. He did that to the Patriots 2007. Spags is the best DC in the league.
winner winner chicken dinner
Ravens think this is the 2000's still where they can bully and cheap-shot their way to a Super Bowl. 😂
Yeah, that sure looked real and stuff. Must’ve been the pressure 🥸
Pacheco avg 2.8 y/c and got 24 carries. Edwards avg 6.7 y/c and only got 3 carries.
The Ravens acted like a little dog trying to intimidate a big dog all day long. Severe LDE. The Chiefs knew they had their number from the start.
I agree with most of this, but I really think the Chiefs just came with a better game plan and more intensity. They took that comment that Raven made about "basketball on grass" after they kicked the Niners' asses, and turned it on them.
Nah
Lamar thought he could win by pocket passing. Ravens lose.
Second time in 4 years, Ravens have the best rushing attack in the league and decide to abandon it when it matters most. Complete coaching malpractice.
What happened was.... Mahomes. Just the fact that HE is on the other sideline, makes OCs change what they do. Mahomes changes the mindset and makes opposing players and coaches reach for more and forget what brought them there... just by being in the building.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers destroyed Patrick Mahomes I don't know what teams don't copy that game plan from that Super Bowl
@@jamesmay5860The Chiefs had a crap offensive line that season. They've improved it considerably since then.

Lamar Jackson is Tony Romo and Dax Prescott. Who cares what you do in the regular season. He CAN'T win big games. And you knew this When you gave him $50 mill a year. Ravens get what they deserve. So enjoy your MVP award Lamar. Along with your long vacation... Again
Maybe Spags and the Chiefs took the run away from Lamar, i.e., he didn't run because there were NOT any holes for him. Chiefs plan was: make Lamar pass.
Spags, baby, SPAGS! Tremendous game plan against Lamarvelous! In Spags I trust!
75 yards in penalties on unnecessary roughness
Spot on.
Jackson plays the smallest when the game and moment is the biggest.
This was the most blatantly one-sided officiating crew I've ever seen...
The Chiefs game plan coming in was to play as dirty as they could to taunt and hit after every play... Because they knew the league was only going to call those penalties on the ravens.
Those examples were great.
It was almost like it was scripted for the Chiefs to win, huh? 😂😂😂
🖤💜🖤💜forever we still love our team❤️💯 win or lose #8
Hey Ravens fans, were these the Flowers ya'll been asking for? 😅
I'm gonna be a ravens fan starting today with the internet just having a feast of ignorance on them. I feel bad for them. Their coaches let them down. The players got pissed and showed it on the field.
Let me say it loud enough for the folks sitting in the back, “RUN THE F’ING BALL!” The offense lacked balance!
That’s what a great defensive scheme does. It gets you out of your game plan. The Chiefs did exactly what they wanted to do.. And that is put the ball in Lamar’s hands…they knew he couldn’t beat them with his arm. Game over ! Best executed plan won and always does !!
Lamar Jackson is NOT that guy.
BROCK PURDY is that guy
Told to take a FALL. NFL needs Swift money. Ravens don’t play that poorly
You do realize that the owners control the NFL?
Un-Ravenslike? Actually, that team has always been undisciplined and dirty. They are exactly who I knew they were. I thought that this year, maybe they got that BS under control, but when the light shines brightest, the cracks appear.
What happened to the Ravens has a lot to do with Spags and his decision to push his linebanckers into the line daring the Ravens to throw against the Chief's secondary.
I'm gonna pull a late Dennis Green.
"Lamar Jackson is not who we thought he was, don't let'em off the hook"
(I know the late Dennis Green said the Bears are who we thought they were, and we let'em off the Hook)
The most undisciplined game I've seen from a team, and I'm a Bengals fan who lived through the 2015 season playoff collapse
Ravens coaching staff sucked. They all got out coached. 7 points down, why are you panicking.
Ravens tried to bully a good team and lost their minds
Unlimited excuses from Lamar riders. Dude lost to a team that went scoreless for the last 2 quarters and he's supposed to be elite? Lawl!
What happened? Andy Reid. He has a ton of strong playoff performance. He knows how to make 2nd half adjustments. Experience really counts in the post season.
Lamar is the Embiid of the NFL.
Casual take. At least say harden, he’s made it a conference final

When Houston held them to tie going into the second half, that didn't tell you guys something about the “powerful” Ravens?
Only clown is Lamar Jackson
No he's James Harden
The coach. All of them.
The trip they missed on chris in the end zone was too egregious not to be called. They got every chance, playing like bounty gate saints
100% That was petty and egregious. Listening to Ravens fans whinge about a missed PI call, when there were a half-dozen major incidents when they tried to injure Chiefs players... ridiculous.
The Ravens were so busy trying to pull KC's punk card they didn't even notice KC had already yanked theirs and fed it to a shredder.
