I love the Chiricahua's, my family has been camping there especially on Easter weekend for more than 60 years. This is my go to area and I love your videos and all of the history that you share. We love watching your channel! Thanks for sharing.
It's been close to 40 years since I was at the Geronimo surrender monument. I really like that area of AZ. I had intended to spend time there but it seems that time has slipped away. Now that I finally have a rig that I can explore with, my body is weathered and worn and I spend more time watching videos like this one to appreciate the places that are difficult to go to. I don't want to come across like I'm whining, but life sure has a way of slipping away without noticing. Your videos are great and show me what I should be doing whenever I am able. Thanks for doing what you do. I love the drone shots that you include in your videos.
You've shown me the Chiricahuas that I've never seen before. And I love the squeaks, moans and groans that the trucks make as they crawl over and around rocks and berms. Great mountaintop campsites with amazing views, beautiful; so was the sunset. Thank you for yet another great video.
That was a really awesome video, my boyfriend and I live in Sierra Vista (moved here not too long ago) and that's right there in our "backyard" he said we will do that route next weekend because he is off work, thank you. Love your beautiful dog!
Way to go Johnny, that's to funny. 😂I think you always makes Cody's trip more amazing. Another awesome video son... Your knowledge and hard work is amazing of how much history you know about our great southwest, you've always been a history buff. I've always loved that mountain range. Spent a few summers up there with my buddy growing up during the summer months at their cabin in Paradise. Flag hill and silver peak were great areas for hunting whitetail. Also loved the Turkey creek area, and the wild apple orchard. Love you. Pa...❤
I live south of Tucson and never embarked off the main road going over the Chiricahuas. But now that we have a capable 4Runner with KO2s, I'm ready to head out on those trails. The solitude of that area is like no other, and I hope to have my ashes scattered by my kids atop the peaks there when I pass.
I too agree to have my ashes spread, not in this range, but one to th east, the dragoons. My families all spread out there so one day I’ll join them also. Thank you for watching, I hope you’re able to get around that area in more depth one day!
Another fantastic video. Many thanks. You are my favorite channel by far. Great photography, cool dog, and a nice wife that joins you on occasion. Your channel is the perfect balance when it comes to real world overlanding. Realistic gear that regular folks can afford and not trying to sell me the latest widget I don’t need. You are living life right my friend.
splendid video WDO! very peaceful. stunning drone footage at 25:30 and at the end of the video. making these videos is a lot of work on top of your normal life and you are doing a great job
I'm new to your videos, but I think I need to go back and watch more. You're putting out quality content that's relatable and has gorgeous scenery. Keep up the great work!
I frequently watch your channel while on the treadmill on a TV that I don't control, and this sometimes prevents me from giving you a thumbs-up or a comment. But please be assured that I always enjoy your segments - even if I can't comment. This one has been exceptional - I haven't been in the Chiracahuas in decades, but my brothers and I have been trying to do more winter camping in the desert, and your vid has me thinking that's a good spot to start. Keep up the great work!
Man thanks for checking in. Don’t feel bad for no comment or like, just watching it alone is good support and I appreciate it. If you hit the Chiricahuas I would certainly do it before snow fall. Mid spring gets pretty nasty up there!
Such a beautiful landscape. I was born in Utah but now live on the west coast of Canada. I miss that kind of landscape. Everything is so overgrown here, it is beautiful aswell but something about the more open forested areas I like. Those are some great camp spots. One day I will explore Utah and maybe even Arizona at some point. Great video!
Good to see the Tundra going strong. Although, I did cringe a bit as you went through that brush. Nice job on the video as always brother! Love that you keep things authentic.
I have a 2019 Tundra SR5 Crewmax 4x4 and discovered your channel, there aren’t many left as most have transitioned over to the 3rd gen. Loving the content as I build my own rig, keep it up 🍻
Read "Blood and Thunder" by Hampton Sides. good history, fine writing. Thanks again for the video. Rode Harley, did a number of 4X4 trips in the area. Backpacked the Sky Islands. have to get the Vette down that way.... loop around through Tombstone, Bisbee, up the east side of the state. been a few years since I was there last.
Hi Cody! Really good videography of some spectacular, remote mountain beauty! Happy to see you back out in your Tundra! I missed the launch of this video, I'm out exploring Idaho... wishing about now I had a lighter 30 MPG SUV for that... the 9500 pound Dodge is getting it done, but it's less than ideal for these long distance road trips, and not exactly what I built it for... but i'm making it work. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do... I think you'd love it here, although I think both our hearts and souls are in Arizona... Still, hard to regret exploring and adventuring more of God's creation... Take care, be safe, and happy Adventures! Bill
Thanks and hope you’re enjoying the weather up there! Probably unbeatable, one day I’ll head up there. Your right tho, having a small suv is great, but nothing beats the feeling of trekking roads in a big rig!
Im local to whestsone. Like you my family has been in Az for over 100 years. I have a filling you would love to sit down with my grandpa about old time history
Great video! Normally I do not like long vids, but you kept me locked in seeing some familiar country. I've done a lot of deer hunting in that range. Portal area was one. Great memories. Need to get back in there. See a lot of deer?
Glad to hear that, I normally don’t do long videos because even myself loses interest after so long. Man I saw more deer up that mountain than I have all summer. Bunch of young forked white tail and a couple that might score a 150+. Solid deer hunting out there
The Chiricahua's are one of our top favorite places to explore. One feature that I really like about OnX is that it shows you the land boundaries, State land, BLM, etc. That feature can come in very handy at times. 🌵👍
@@Whitedogoverland thanks. I’ve been on the fence for a while now about trying it out. I’ve used Trails Offroad, but it seems like it could be better than it is, here in Arizona anyways.
Regarding the locked gates and private land in the middle of the NF, I've got the same gripe. I live in the midwest and go into the NF of northern WI and the U.P. of Mich. I run into the same issues. It really irritates me than the gov't has / is selling off these plots of land that then become off limits. I run down many trails that turn out to be gated. Can see that trails continue deep into the forest but cannot access.
It’s such a pain in the ass, such a trivial complaint I have with so much public land out here but heck how can one 1/4 acre parcel restrict traffic, a land locked parcel must have ingress and egress, but not when it’s public land? Can’t help but question that
hey! great content. just happened to find your channel. im in mesa, dying to get back out there. (hit an elk this summer. rebuilding my '98 4runner). if youre ever looking for travel buds, id love to join. hit me up!
I don’t think they are underrated they’re just kind of out of the way from everything. I went there 2 years ago to get some photos of 2 rare birds. The only 2 in North America.

Grew up hunting and exploring around Patagonia. Great region. Rugged for sure. So much history you can reach out and touch. Good video.
Absolutely. Such an awesome area.

Been interested in this area for awhile, very unique. Thanks for the birdseye views. You have a good eye for filming. Safe journeys.
Thank you so much for watching. You won’t regret checking this area out!
Nice to see the tundra back on the trail 🙂👍🏾…
Outstanding piece! Maybe my favorite so far. Great music too. Great shots and narrative. Thanks for sharing and making these.
Thank you brother!
Nice to see the truck back in action. Thanks for the great video.
Planning a trip with my friends next month up there. Dope videos man 👌

aww $hit, the tundy is back. Good to see her. I'll have watch this tomorrow around dinner time.

Love the drone footage music goes with the video
Nice to see the Tundra back out again. I would love to do some of these routes. A little too tight for my raptor though.

Nice video man, this one was like a small movie. I watched it this morning with my Dad. Too bad you guys kept running into closed gates.
Thanks for watching brother. The gates are pretty typical for this area with all the ranch land
🐢 Power!!!
You know it!
Nice shot of the stars that's something we don't see hear in the UK. terrible flooding at the moment. Great video loved it.
Glad I can bring you the stars! Bummer to hear about the flooding, east coast is under the same conditions

Yessir me too! Having the premium for the private sections is huge
@@Whitedogoverlanddo you use Premium or Elite?
I have the elite due to my partnership with them, but I do prefer it over the base just to have private land information

Kudos for cleaning the campsite. Wish more folks would follow the rule of leaving a campsite cleaner than you found it. 👍
Head a little further past Chiricaua entrance and at the curve take the dirt road up into Turkey Creek. It is way better. Several waterfalls.
I’ve been up that way many years ago. Definitely an awesome are

Anybody... do you guys go premium or elite for onX offroad? Should i go elite?
I got elite… cuz it was free lol. Having the slightly more detailed maps along with private/public is nice but it’s a hefty price on the upgrade!
