Great video! Welcome to the Valley! Tonto National Forest has about 3000 miles of trails. Everything from basic fire road to extreme butt puckering fun trails!
These are the trails I first began off-roading over 18 years ago (in a Jeep Patriot of all vehicles 😂). Nice to see it’s still being discovered and showcased to this day. Love the channel! Recently subscribed.
Haha, that makes me happy to hear! I edit the music to sound killer on a proper sound system .... even though I know like 50% of people are watching on their phones 😥
Man, that milky way shot! 🔥 We need to explore Arizona, it looks like they have a lot of public lands! I am almost convinced I need an LX470/Land Cruiser because of the tailgate lol. How many miles do you have on yours?
Oh man, AZ has so much public land it's almost overwhelming figuring out where to go! A pretty great problem to have haha. We've got 270K on the LX with no signs of slowing down. And yeah, split tailgate is one of the most underrated but useful features. Honestly, after buying the Tacoma, we appreciate the LX even more. It's just SUCH a pleasure to drive. In an entirely different league versus the Tacomas and 4 Runners I've driven
Ugh, I miss Arizona. Haven't been back in about 20 years. Beautiful little getaway. Amazing shots and storytelling as always! Side note, Melissa was intrigued as to what brand of hamburger buns those were. 😅
The buns were Carbonaut (gluten free) .. because I'm getting old and my gut hates everything fun now. Side note: they were actually probably the best GF buns I've had (and yes, the bar is low lol)
@WheretoNextOverland oh tell me about it. I officially enter my *ahem* late 40s on Jan 20th. I find myself doing "old man stuff" more and more every day. LOL. We'll have to give them a try. We usually by Keto buns cuz they're low in carbs and have fiber. So we're no stranger to the "non-traditional" bun category.
@@WheretoNextOverland Next time you're around Roosevelt take 288 up to Young. Before you enter the national forest area stop at the scenic overview, you can take a couple trails that get you right to the edge overlooking the lake.
Remember if you pack it in to PACK IT OUT!!! This area is full of trash from disrespectful 'people' and now has become a fee area in Tonto Forest. Pay attention to the signs so you don't get fined by the extremely well fed Forest Service folks!!!
Always a bummer when beautiful places get trashed. Thankfully every campsite we passed by was free from trash on this day, which was a pleasant surprise!
Jeff. You should talk with Cody of Whitedog overland adventures. That man is humble like you, and knows Arizona like the back of his hand. Check out his videos youll see what i mean. To two could make some awesome content together.. Love your content keep up the good work.!! Great videography..😀😀😀👍👍👍

Thanks! Yeah, I suspect we're gonna be spending a LOT of time in the Tonto National forest.

Thanks & welcome to the channel! And yeah, these roads would make for perfect beginner trails. Super chill .... but MAN ... the scenery is something
Looks like a pretty sweet start down there!! Great shots and those stars 👌🏻 Apache trail looks legit! Beautiful
A great start, for sure! There's so much public land & trails down there, it's almost overwhelming.
Killer stuff dude! I really need to get down there. That Timelapse of the Milky Way was so pro. Love it
Thanks man! It's kinda insane how much public land and how many awesome trails AZ has. You definitely need to make the trip!
Another incredible video! I had to stop watching on my phone and put it on the big screen in the living room hahahaha
Haha, that makes me happy to hear! I edit the music to sound killer on a proper sound system .... even though I know like 50% of people are watching on their phones 😥
@WheretoNextOverland I won't watch it on the phone again if I can help it lol
Done the four peaks and Apache trails a few times many years ago. Beautiful scenery. Ready to move back from Oregon this year.
Pretty amazing scenery.
That last part reminded me of the Shaffer switchbacks in Utah.
Yeah, I can totally see that. I think Christine actually said that same thing as we were climbing.

@VictorVlogsPDX dude these Carbonaut buns have so much fiber you'll poop like a king.

Great time of the year to be out there. Summertime heat would be brutal, though.
Yeah, it would. But in winter? Perfect!
Good video.
Thanks!
sell the channel and start doing movie production at this point your editing is top notch.
Wow! Thanks. That's a pretty huge compliment! Trying to get a little better with each video
ya what that one said... except for selling the channel
@user-tj3yi9zj4m fair enough! 🤣
@ I love this comment.
You would be surprised to find out how many tourists have driven over Four Peaks road in a Hertz or Avis rental car!
Hahaha, maybe not so surprised. We actually drove over Four Peaks last year in a Turo rental 🤣
What? No guacamole on the burger? 🥑
Hahaha. Guess we need to work on our Southwest cooking!
would love to know the name of that scenic road if you don't mind sharing ?
@esiriel the first one up over the mountains is the Four Peaks Trail. The second one along the river and up the canyon is SR88 aka Apache Trail
@@WheretoNextOverland appreciate it ! i'm preparing my summer road trip and your video was super inspiring !
@esiriel awesome! Happy to here it. Arizona has so many amazing trails. Definitely deserves a visit
Its a shame they paved so much of the trail on the Roosevelt side, prior to 2019 it was an entirely dirt road.
@christianschulz5489 yeah it was kinda weird how it bounced back and forth between paved and dirt. Didn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it really

Cody is on a hiatus from RUclips..maybe social media. He's a good dude.
@@Mandingobull why.?
Yeah, I've watched some of his videos, they're great! Would be fun to meet up with him at some point
@Mandingobull he put up a couple videos last month. So he's still around
RUclips can feel like a real grind sometimes. Stepping away from time to time is kinda important (in my experience)
