Judging by the amount of grey scenery, water and the structure at 10:12 , maybe it could have been a track centered around a hydroelectric power plant, the layout looks pretty thought after (going as far as having shortcuts and alternate paths) to be just a disposable test track, also the round corner at 11:53 reminds me a lot of atlantica from nfs 3.
After comparing the maps, I have come to a personal conclusion; The track that is attached to the lot is an early version of the Alpine/Autumn map location. When you compare them, there's areas that line up very well, some that didn't change, although a lot have. Specifically, "Fall Winds" from the PS2 version utilizes the route that is at the bottom of the top-down view you provided.
As someone fairly familiar with classic NFS games, I'm pretty sure The Lot doesn't match any of them, so this being either a unique track or early version of desert area are the most likely possibilities. I'm leaning towards the former just due to the sheer amount of differences between desert area and The Lot, on top of The Lot being categorized separately (T5x) from desert tracks (T2x); it also doesn't seem to be just pushed to the back designation-wise, as tropical area (T6x) comes after The Lot area. Track textures remark makes me wonder if T51, T52 and T53 ever existed, and if they did, what were they like. Tx4 tracks are alternate time of day versions of Tx1 tracks, so if T51 existed, has The Lot T54 been an alternate version of it? I doubt we'll ever have the answer without of an even earlier build though - The Lot only appeared in this build, and it is the sole T5x track here.
Just looked into the language file - no mention of T5x tracks aside from The Lot T54, but then there's a mention of "Tropical Shorts T64", which seems to have been wiped from this build otherwise. Some language files also mention Parkland 1 ST14, which seem to be older language files where tracks had STxx designation instead of Txx designation in this build, and they also don't mention alternate time of day tracks (Tx4 to Tx6), which might indicate that there also has been a Parkland test track, although chances are it was intended to test alternate time of day on a Coastal Parklands track. ...oh, and the list of playable cars' manufacturers includes Renault and... Grolson? whatever that is.There's also Corvette SE, which could've been the C5.R you found a texture of.
@@379Felipe It might be possible that devs toyed around with the idea of night time mode but abandoned it - after all, it was a standard feature in NFS3 and High Stakes. Sure, this is merely speculation on my behalf, but I'd rather bring this up in case we might get a definitive answer someday. As long as speculation itself won't get interpreted as a fact, of course.
seeing the left side of the map from the top-down view reminded me for some reason of the 1399 test track from ug1 (drift of darko iirc?) but they would really have to squish these roads to make them actually similar hm
Here’s actually hoping someone could open the map’s boundaries (and add road collisions) so we could try this out. I’ve always been fascinated by old or incomplete tracks in NFS games, bonus points if they still have generated lighting and shadows

the fact that 90% of the actual track isn't drivable is a massive shame
Indeed it is :(

Amazing video as always my man. Also, had no idea that this existed.
I think nobody did
Yeeeeaaaah! Great job, man. I really like to see early content of NFS. Especially unknown content from the really old games. Keep going!

How they discovered this new alpha from NFHSU2?
Was this track planned to be in the final game? It looks too big just to be a test map.
Probably not. We don't know for sure since its a different layout.
