They're space cockroaches. They're hardy and short-lived. Even the reapers had trouble harvesting the vorcha even though they seem too primitive for harvest.
Oh god no, please no Vorcha romances. But yeah, I was kinda hoping for an actually intelligent Vorcha who would overcome the typical stereotypes about his species.
Snake Productions when you think about it in mass effect the vorcha who betrayed the blood pack to take over was an intelligent vorcha instead of just murdering them himself he was slightly more "tactical" about it still war or death related but still a type of intelligence
Considering their short lifespans, the Vorcha must grow very fast. This would imply that Vorcha would probably become adults very early in their lives. Like maybe they become adults when they are only a year old or three years old or something.
In Mass Effect 3, Mordin mentions something about the medical complications of Asari fathered by Vorcha, which means in the short time they've been on the galactic scene, the Asari have fucked them. Truly a race with little standards.
Yes two years changed some stuff - discovery of vorcha, advancement of mercs, change in guns, humanity beginning to colonize the Terminus instead of just the extent of Attican Traverse, etc.
I looked all over for a way to help the vorcha on Omega, but there didn't seem to be a way. That conversation about Captain Gavorn seemed like the start of a quest to that effect, but it didn't go anywhere. Perhaps that was left over from a cut quest?
the vorcha make my inner salarian come out i personally want to see if their unique to "personal evolution" can be made to apply itself to mental attributes as well there are so many experiments i would like to try ... for instance raise a group of vorcha and force them to solve increasingly difficult puzzles for food perhaps their ability would cause a rapid brain development if so we could breed the smartest ones and continue on ... plus their relatively short life cycle just makes them more desirable as test subjects
Alec Coe They will become more intelligent but only to specific tasks. Their adaptation to intelligence won't carry over to the next generation and they will have to adapt to the challenges all over again.
I wanna see like three great vorcha unite their people under the ideals of; 1: true warfare and battle 2: evolution and and future of the species 3: pain, murder and blood shed
I never completely dismissed the species as a whole, because there's one you meet who both is logical in his dealings and speaks with perfect grammar. I knew they had the potential to be more than violent animals used as cannon fodder by the Blood Pack, but I also always understood that them becoming more as a whole was extremely unlikely.
The timelines don’t match up. If humans discovered Vorcha between ME1 and 2, how could Mordin have documented the dietary quirks of Asari-Vorcha offspring?
There is some great story potential I think with them. They're like the anti-Salarians. Both shorter lived races but the Vorcha are vicious pack fighters in contrast to the cool and cerebral Salarians.
Interestingly vorcha's ability to adapt individually has made their species very old. They might be oldest sentient species in Milky Way and only recently hitched themselves into interstellar galaxy. My guess is that they are capable of changing their gender as well and breed fast. It also seems that vorcha living in multispecies-areas like Omega most likely adapt into those as well and become more socially adapt. In Mass Effect 2 Blood Pack uses them as cannon fodder and in Mass Effect 3 they have taken over and are smart enough to recognize benefits of allying with stronger parties than they are. It would be great to have vorcha or batarian as squadmate in new Mass Effect or otherwise more prominently featured and not as antagonist.
What kinda irritates me about the Vorcha is, how everybody acts as if they are nothing new. Not even Sheppard (who, until entering Omega should never have even heard about them in his/her entire life) asks something along the lines of "what is a Vorcha?" No, instead everyone reacts as if they Vorcha are an old hat, with the prejudice (that the Vorcha are essentially Vermin) alread in place. Despite them not having contact with the greater Galaxy until one year before ME2.
The Krogans are a spacefaring race. And actually, the Reapers did try to invade the Vorcha homeworld. It didn't work. The Reapers found that their standard tactics didn't work against them, so instead of harvesting them they simply blockaded their homeworld to keep them from joining the war.
Did u know that according to Bioware, if the reapers succeeded in harvesting all advanced life, the vorcha would have lead the next cycle. This is not that far fetched since humans who r one of the most prominent races in the galaxy were only one step ahead of monkeys in the previous cycle
Jasper Zanovich eh maybe, but they're my favorite, and the way the queen can animate dead things to talk through interests, me and there's probably info on their combat prowess, and maybe about how they communicate through song and stuff,
Would they count as space goblins? Perpetual primitiveness and monster likeness seems like the same traits as a goblin. Only stronger due to regenerative powers. They wear speedos so I can imagine they'd wear loincloths like goblins if that was what was available, though that isn't mush of a point as most sapient species besides the Hannar will would wear a loincloth too if without an alternate option. (Wait, the hannar get to strut around completely naked?)

Love yur stuff dude. With this one, seriously, Vorcha are really teenagers. This is so interesting. The possibilities are endless. Wow. Possible game here???
In Leviathan DLC for ME3 we can visit their home system to scan some stuff (and get some kickass war assets, like vorcha fighter squadron called "the Void Devils" and vorcha engineers). Their planet is called Heshtok with "capital" city (which is not a constant thing, propadlly at the point of the ME3 it was just the biggest clan around) called Hatash, and their society is clan based. Basically their clans are in constant warfare and if one clan grows too large it either splits up, letting the younger vorchas go and do their own stuff, or other clans form some form of alliance to deal with it, after which they get back to fighting and killing each other again.
It took me a while (more that I'd like to admit) to catch up with the little joke in the intro... Ha ha... He's still waiting. Poor Gryll. That being said, yeah... they are quite unlikable.
Vorcha romance? Ew. Vorcha follower? That'd be a good bit of banter with the likes of Wrex and Grunt admiring his resilience and the smarter characters always talking down to him or trying to make him understand things.
It would be nice that the asarie would start to "raise" their species. Not as pet, but just as a descent species. They sound extremely like humans but stronger physically. If we would have been able to naturally defend ourselves, we wouldn't be like this today. So if a specie, like the asari, start to take care of them, because for them it's like a family goldfish : alive one week, dead the next one. Since they are being raise to be violent, raising them in a peaceful way sound to be the best way to help them grow up.
Poor Vorchas, someone had to be the space goblins of the setting.
I didn't know what comparison I could have made. But now I do ,thanks .
I see potential in them. Not as a romance but maybe as a companion or crewmember. Could be funny.
I don't know. It'd be similar to having the Battle Droids from Star Wars.
Could you imagine? Shepard having to punch it in the face instead of saying 'I should go' to communicate the fact he was leaving?
