The brand new 2019 Corvette ZR1 finally gets some Xpel and some window tint. The Xpel provides much needed paint protection against rock chips and other paint damaging elements while the tint makes the black car look even meaner. Let me know what you think about this process. Definitely check out Blackout Tinting in Latrobe, PA. Their RUclips channel is: bit.ly/2KdxFTX 😎👍
HorsePower Obsessed what’s up Justin I’m glad you got that done, I’m looking for a professional place around Detroit that can PPF mine, how much money should I be expecting to pay?
HorsePower Obsessed omg are you serious, you got a lot done almost the entire car, I found a place I called them and told them I want ppf the entire car and they quoted me $7500 without ceramic coating, does that sound like BS to you ?
That's iffy but I've heard that price tossed around before. Blackout Tinting did it for a better cost for me due to some deals we worked out so normally it might be a touch higher. I was quoted around 6k for the whole car from other places. I have probably about 65 to 70% of the car covered at this point and to do the rest would probably be another 1500 or so with the deal I have worked out with them. I'm getting it ceramic coated here soon at a discounted rate as well. The prices vary a lot but you really want a GREAT installer because the film means nothing without it being installed correctly.
They washed the car and decontaminated the paint (clay bar, etc.) and then put the film on. The micro scratched (swirl marks) are filled in from the adhesive and spray gel solution used to put the xpel on so you don't have to paint correct.
Congrats on the new car. I bought my very first corvette last week and picking it up this Saturday. It's a Black on Black 2017 Grand Sport with 5000 miles on it. At the age of 56, I thought it's time.
I hate when you open the doors up on most wraps and the paint is a different color. Wrap it blue but have all the exposed yellow parts when you open doors, looks cheap and tacky. Pricey too.
I picked up a tip watching 🤔I tried to touch up my rock chips with the brush in the rocket 🚀 like touch up from GM. The thing would drip all over so I stopped. I see he used a QTip.That is the best way to touch up my Camaro SS. I appreciate seeing it. You have a beautiful ZR1 and it will definitely go up in value being a manual. The paint protection film is excellent.Very professional job ✊
Thanks, man! It's not a q-tip though, it's similar but it's something made specifically for touch up paint. You can buy them on Amazon. Real fine tipped for small chips. 👍
Definitely protect it. The value of this car will rise absurdly when people figure out GM wasnt lying about the farthest a front engine car can be taken. The story of the C7 isnt over.
@@HorsePowerObsessed The ZR1 is beyond a Ferrari 812 superfast and a AMG GTR R PRO by a large magnitude. I am not kidding or fan boying either. The public has yet to figure it out. Justin, enjoyed the video. The day I purchased my ZO6 was the day I dropped off my Vette to have the clear bra added (as you are), ceramic coated the entire car and added the legal tint to my Black Vette! Good thing you are doing it now! Ensure you get the A Pillars as well.Blue skies, Jg
I had my ZL1 wrapped with XPEL (Front Bumper, Splitter, Hood/Carbon fiber insert, Side Skirts, Roof, Front fenders, Side mirrors, Lower rear bumper). Awesome product and can't even see it's there, cost effective as well. Then I Ceramic coated it myself. Looks great with Black Mosaic Metallic color. Shop around for a good dealer/installer. Furthermore, the installer came right to my house and did it in 1.5 days in the garage.
That's exactly right. The installer matters way more than the product in this situation. I will be going back to get a ceramic coated here shortly. 🤘😎🤘
@@HorsePowerObsessed ZR1 looks beast and he did a great job. I would recommend the roof as well. Many times even parking underneath trees, overhead structures, etc. stuff can fall on the roof. Great vlog brother! It makes a world of difference having the piece of mind when getting in your car and driving. I've not even had a second thought about driving and being on the highway with LaFawnduh. Can't wait to hang with you and the guys at Carlisle at the end of next month!
