It's better than what we are doing now, though, for weight loss through those programs, which is basically zero. And those people developing diabetes will land them back on the drug at the same expense anyway, and possibly others up to and including insulin. Also, the dietary modifications you make during the time period of being on Ozempic can be enough to kickstart a lifestyle change. Sometimes that one element of feeling less desperately hungry is all it takes to teach your brain to make the more healthier food choice while at the same time you reduce the overall time spent thinking about food. I think it would be good if Medicaid went further, paying for accompanying nutrition coaching and acccess to exercise facilities along with Ozempic. If the cost is your objective can you imagine what we will save when treatments for diabetes, high blood pressure, and other related diseases are reduced or eliminated?
I think one of the biggest contributing factors to U. S. rates of diabetes and obesity, which is never talked about, is the high levels of chemicals and artificial ingredients in the food supply most citizens consume.
Obesity is caused by excess calories. Simple as. Has nothing to do with chemicals. If I eat 1000 calories of donuts a day, I will lose weight. If I eat 3000 calories of chicken broccoli and rice a day, I will gain weight. Processed food is just calorically dense where unprocessed food is usually not. I can eat 3000 calories of donuts like it's nothing because it's such a small amount of food. But if you tried to eat 3000 calories of chicken and broccoli (not rice cause it's actually also calorically dense) then I would throw up because it's so much food
But that's not what any of the research indicates about this. The biggest contributing factor to obesity is people consume too many high-calorie foods. RFK Jr has no interest in addressing this, however.

Fr,.. imagine if Wages stayed proportional to Inflation and Productivity.. the Minimum Wage would be $22.50/HR right now and we’d ALL be prospering 🤷♂️🤦♂️
@@AlexLopez-vm7uq And the 3-5 months trump wasted on acting like the virus wasn't real Bernie would've been working on getting it taken care of.
I am picturing Steven Crowder's bright red face and laughing at the thought.
Great job America! Remember, you can’t abort a president before their term is up :)
Well impeachment is technically possible.
You can KNOCK him?
@@Cancellator5000we tried that shit last time, nobody did anything about it. Without force and fear, nothing will get done. Trump needs to learn what the word fear means.
@@ZimtikiBar Sure. The thing that didn't happen was the Senate going along with it though. If the Senate feels continuing to acquit Trump for everything is no longer politically viable, they do have the power to kick him out. That would require putting the fear of god into the Senate no doubt.
You can abort the president. It's called impeachment. But the cult is so deep that the GOP congress would be terrified of criticizing the boy-god.

Hello from Canada, your friendly northern neighbour
That's right, you're not my brother. You're just a neighbor.

@@Вакр-ы6й We are all brothers, brother!
Well, this will screw over everyone more than ever now with more increase in prices for important commodities.
The Blue States are planning to lower prices of common goods in their boarders. Governors Safeguarding Democracy is the only real hope America has left.
@@detailed_data4PSN should we raise corporate taxes or is that bad?
@@bleekrisp tax the corporations is all fine and dandy but wouldn't tariffs also raise prices in an already bad economy?
@@detailed_data4PSN if you mean would there be a noticeable and sustained price spike within the already gigantic current spike as a result of a partial less than a 25% price hike on some importers in limited sectors, then I'd say probably not. The cost isn't transferred wholesale down the chain like it is with sales tax, which is why I say less than 25% on american importers.
@@bleekrisp so you are saying there won't be a big price increase for consumers.
A genuine implementation of an across the board 25% tariff would plummet all three of Canada, the US and Mexico into a deep depression.
I live in Ontario and our premier (governor), Ford, could only muster “we’re America’s best friend” and “I’m offended Trump compares us to Mexico”. What a shock that people compare him to Trump 😂
it should be illegal to raise prices at all. if companies want more revenue, they should cut the salaries of the CEOs
When he wants it to be over he will claim victory whether anything changed or not - and his followers will believe he ‘fixed it’
Yep. They will get a film of a bus with some migrants and say "see he did what he said and he deported". Also he will blame everyone else. He never takes any responsibility for anything. And the cult just bows in subservience.
How many Trump supporters does it take to change a lightbulb?
None.
Trump says he changed the bulb while everyone sits in the dark and claps.
Yeah we’ve truly reached 1984 levels of alternative truths. The orange d bag will just say stuff and his little cult will cheer for him as they lose their healthcare. Crazy stuff.

That average Trump voter knowledge is way below the level of HS economics.
I think Trump himself just doesn't bother to know how economics work. His voter base suffers from Newsmax/FOX brainrot.
Didn't Musk state on a Twitter group call that the economy is going to suffer for a couple of years under Trump with the tariffs and cuts before it magically bounces back and be better than ever?
Yes.
And no, he knows that's batshit crazy.
[Or he really is that stupid]

It's not going to bounce back after the crash either, austerity always leads to economic collapse and poverty.
Recovery from the crash of '29 came from the ND and winning a major war.
Would love to know what kind of rabbit Trump will pull out of his hat once this predicted crash takes place.
Yup, and by "better than ever" he means "better for billionaire oligarchs like him, but the other 90% will still be suffering.

We need to campaign hard on getting conservatives to like avocado toast. Once they see the price hike on that, checkmate. Now we’re playing chess.
Tariffs on all products holy fuck😭😭
Ozempic and other drugs helps slow the progression of kidney failure. My daughter is in stage 3a. Want to see how covering these meds will save money? Look at the costs of dialysis and transplants/all the rest of the care needed to manage it. We can’t get the med now because she’s only 16 until there is a clinic study. Then she might get a placebo when that happens. I’m on dialysis myself trying to afford the foods she needs to stay OFF dialysis. It’s hell
Leave it Trump and RFK to take away your insurance converage of her. -owing to her pre existing condition.
Woo Hoo! “ALL products”!
I guess that will include all of the electricity being transmitted from Quebec, sooo good luck, Northeast USA, with your leap in ALL electrical bills.
It's only gonna be expensive if we don't regulate the pharmaceutical prices like every other country does
A Trump admin will further deregulate instead.

But also, we wouldn’t even need the A1c inhibitors if we didn’t subsidize sugar so goddamn much it is like the most subsidized thing on earth
Will someone please explain why we are all acting like we didn't go thru this before?
Trump didn't push these insane levels of across the board tariffs last time.
Millions of people died the last time
Yeah, that's why we're panicking. The man crashed the economy, 8 trillion in debt, had an insurrection and botched a pandemic. Shelves bare, people fighting over toilet paper. Removed laws that down the road lead to a baby formula shortage. I mean I can go on.
This time he's running on retribution and the enemy within.... with litteral QUOTES FROM HITLER. His tarrifs are very like hoovers that deepened the great depression.
He's also had rhetoric that he won't leave voluntarily in 4 years and we could be stuck with him..... permanently.
Granted, he's unpredictable, so who knows how much he'll actually do....
But if you elect someone hoping "they're not going to do the horrible things they promised"...... wtf are you doing?
Bernie Sanders has been talking about lowering prices on weight loss drugs for months
I'm trying to make connections from me getting fired from my first job at the local grocery store to Trump's first presidency. It's probably tariffs against Mexico hiking up prices in our produce section and stressing my manager out. I'm not being too serious but it's interesting to think about.
I find it interesting that he wants China to have the death penalty for drug dealers but isn’t making that same law in the US….
Don't forget, under Trump, the White House became basically a pill mill!
Wow, Canadians are 20% more valuable
Thank you for breaking down the knock on effects of tariffs on the scale that Trump is planning, I hadn't understood the implications it might have on the American consumer.
My main concern is how to survive all of these financial and political crisis, especially in light of the US political power scuffle. The government has really called things more difficult for its citizens, and we can't sit back and bear all the consequences of the bad governance.

Tariffs increase the costs of goods and services to consumers. Used by a Government that understands tariffs they can be targeted to influence consumer behaviour. Trump also doesn’t seem to understand that they will increase input costs to US producers, either reducing profits or fuelling ever higher inflation.

Why doesn't Trump just make drugs illegal?
Problem solved.
As a physician- adult internal medicine, this is an absolutely terrible financial decision for Medicare and Medicaid, insanely expensive per month, and once you stop it, if you have not made serious lifestyle changes, all the weigh comes back, usually more. So you are essentially on it for life
The crazy right can cut all the government they want - when the Democratic Party regains power in the White House, Senate, House and judiciary - and they will in the next few years. They will bring back all of that which they have cut and more.
Republicans - conservatives are their own worst enemy.
Hilarious that the tariff depends on ending drug trade.
Remember just say no???? Hahaha
So endless picking a fight with Canada and Mexico
I dare him to implement the tariffs
Don't "hold my beer" Trump. He's too stupid to consider the stakes

90% of your avocados come from Mexico? I'm going to enjoy posting pictures of my heaped portions of European and Middle-Eastern sourced avocado on toast and guacamole while Americans are enjoying theirs by the teaspoonful and reconsidering their voting choices. 🥑
Trump comes up with policy the same way Tim Pool comes up with his opinions - on the spur of the moment, based on an idea that just popped into his head.
Can Trump do this? The USA has trade agreements with Mexico and Canada. I guess bet Trump could get out of them, but I doubt he could do it on day 1 with an executive order.
They've been trying to get rid of the income tax. This was yang's problem he wanted to switch to a regressive tax to pay for ubi which would have created a perpetual loop of it trying to chase the inflation it's causing itself.
