      Thank you, my sweet friend! We are fine here in Portland - a different story for folks along the coast and north toward Seattle, I'm afraid!

    So I’ve been a subbie for a few months now, I’ve got to say as someone that struggles to make complete thoughts at times when I make content, you are an awesome conversationalist! I love watching your videos for your junk journal ventures, that’s how I found you. I continue to watch you because to me, you feel like I’m over for a crafty visit! 😊I think the first video I watched of your was those weather strip quote tags that you let the weather do with it what it does. It was a new concept to me and I am so glad to keep coming back to just hang out and learn new things or just have a fun crafty chat 🤗! Thanks for putting out videos, love your ideas and chats! ❤Daisy 😊

      Daisy, that's so kind of you to say! My goal is to feel like we're crafting together, so I'm so happy that's what you're getting from my videos.

    A few years ago I went crazy using fresh leaves as stamps (with paint, but could be other media) and then as stencils. Thank you for all of these ideas!!

    Love this and Barney's talent is shining through. Yes I remember the wax paper and leaves awesome memories. I think my favorite is the ink rub over the paper. I believe we used crayons and colored pencils at times. Thank you again for bringing back childhood memories. This would make excellent background papers.
    I use the peel and stick for my stencil work with Armour Etch cream on glass. Great product.
    Blessings for a happy Thanksgiving with your family. 🤗🦃

    I collect leaves as well. I've never used markers to doodle on but will definitely try it soon!! I have painted them and included on journal cards. Love using nature in my journals when possible!

      Nadyne, I'm not surprised to hear you have that same set - it was irresistible for many of us! I seem to use it more and more. Thanks for watching, and have fun with your own leaves!

    So many great ideas! I’ve never used that peel and stick laminating stuff - I’m definitely going to keep my eyes out for that. So useful for fragile things like the leaves you showed or even super old paper that cracks when you fold it. Loved the idea of running the ink over the top of a leaf under the paper and even using paint markers on the leaves themselves! Thanks for sharing!

    Hi Anne! Beautiful projects with leaves! Nature gives us many supplies for our art. I make leaves with toilet papers, using natural leaves as templates. They turn out very realistic. If you want to try, I can explain how I make them. 🩷🩷🍂🍂

    • @annekenlon
      @annekenlon  Месяц назад

      That's lovely, Marcia! I'm actually familiar with that technique molding the thin, wet papers over rubber or acrylic stamps - never tried it with leaves, though, that's a super idea!

    • @mrscomarte3248
      @mrscomarte3248 Месяц назад

      @@annekenlon My technique is: we need a natural leaf, toilet paper and acrylic varnish. First, with a brush you apply acrylic varnish to the back of the leaf. Then, put a double sheet of toilet paper, pressing softly with your hands so that the paper takes on the leaf texture. Then you apply varnish on the paper and repeat the process of varnish+toilet paper two more times, to give consistence to the leaf. Let it dry and then you pull the leaf and cut the paper following the edge of the printed leaf.Finally you paint the leaves with acrylic ink giving the tone you want or you can doodle and make artwork. It´s amazing how realistic and maleable the leaves are. And never will deteriorate. If you have any doubts, please ask me.

    Wonderful! Sadly, I’ll have to wait until next year to try this as we have just received 20cm of snow covering all the leaves. In the meantime, I can practice some of the techniques on leaf shaped die cuts or old book page fussy cut into leaf shapes.

    Good morning Anne, you can reconstitute a leaf by putting it in a bowl of water for a while. Thank you for your time. I appreciate it.

    Is there anything to use other than mod podge? Mod podge always stays sticky.

    • @annekenlon
      @annekenlon  Месяц назад

      People seem to have differing results with Mod Podge - I think depending on the humidity of their area. Putting it on in very thin layers can help it remain dry. But I will say there's another decoupage medium called Collage Pauge that many folks say doesn't retain a sticky surface. I have some, and it works just fine - the only reason I don't use it on the regular is because it has a very high-gloss surface and I like something with a more muted patina. But it's worth a try to avoid the stickiness factor if that's what you're going for! Thanks, Laurel!
