Hey everybody! Staying sane in self-isolation? Check out this quick how to video on tower construction for box blinds, and envision all the DIY projects you'll be able to do in a few months!
This was easy to set up and I'm perfectly happy with how big it is. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxLQGtOO9dXIsNktEeycGoIT6jtJJNTScA The main front 2 windows are a nice addition with the quiet drop down or up hooks. The center is a zipper, and the outsides are Velcro, but in the center I can drop it to where I want it quietly. The side windows are Velcro, but I guess I get to see out and nothing can see in. To everyone complaining about the door, it's perfect. It's a quiet entry door. One snap buckle and 4 snap on pole ends. Plenty of room for my 12 Guage to maneuver around. I'm quite happy with it.
Hello all, Im late to the party here. I have an existing 8x4' blind built, sits on the ground up on a ledge. Thought it was great until I started thinking more and the wind is wrong. Id like it to still be in the air. Was wondering what your thoughts are if this build will support the weight of plywood walls and hunter/equipment. I could easily take my walls/roof down and mount legs to my existing floor. Should I be sinking the feet or doing some sort of bracing so a high wind wont move it?
Thanks for watching! I think it's definitely beneficial to use treated wood when building something like this. That way you know it'll be around for you for many years of great hunting. Good luck out there this fall! ;)
Parts list is incorrect, List says that we need four 12 foot 4 x 4 posts but in the video you used 8 foot posts. Besides that it was a great video and I’m looking forward to building this for my pop-up, thank you.
I was going to say the same thing. He didn't see this or decided not to comment I guess? Probably cheaper to go with the 2-12' 4x4's and just cut them in half and make it a 6' platform
How are you lashing the popup to the frame. Always wanted to do something like this, but was always curious about how to prevent the sidewalls from popping in during higher winds.
Yes you are correct. I’m sorry about that! The legs are 8’ tall, not 12’. Either would work! If you were looking to make it a little taller, you could use the 12’ legs! Just don’t forget to change your ladder height if you do that!👊🏼
Dang it went to your RUclips channel to find the proper way to do it.... Could not find anything on the page of how to do it.... Dang it is easy to arm chair and give FaceBook comments and feedback
@@Brad901 I’m sorry I’m not a RUclipsr. Glad to know you’d be my first fan. I have posted numerous plans in various forums and Facebook groups detailing the construction process. I have built 6 shooting houses using custom plans. I can definitely Monday morning quarterback this.
I would like one of these bearproof cuz, currently there are 5 bears in my village. 3 cubs, and 2 big fu*king bears. They're are at least a kilometer away but last week they killed 3-5 pigs, tbe village near me lost 1-5 goats and 1-5 sheep. These bears are fu*king annoying. And I am awake as a 14 yo with 6 PXP309 C4 Firecrackers and a bigas* farming iron fork thingy, waiting as Doomslayer for the bears, because I need to protect my dog, my 2 goats, and 20 chicken(including cock or rooster, whatever). I am creeped out. And now that I've told you my life story, please tell me how to make it bear proof.

Nicely done! Love the lag bolts and solid bracing.
Just bought 40 acres in a marsh. Will be building two of these asap! Thanks!
Congratulations! Very exciting!
@@DruryOutdoors thank you! Good luck this season!
Brilliant video, kept it simple, thanks 👍
Very simple and understanding
Good to hear!!
Nice easy clean plan but the only thing I would change is the side of the ladder I would turn them the other way to make them stronger
Thank you for the video, it looks great. The only question I have is, how did you stand it right side up? Do you need a tractor for that?
Nice video, thanks
Thanks so much
Could you provide a parts list for an 8'x8' by 10 ff high tower.?

it comes in handy when boondocking
How did you flip it and how did you get it out to the woods/field?
Heck of a good video bud! Good job
Biggest fan!
:) thank you!
Wow this video was awesome 👏
I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
Love the video. Simple and easy to understand. Only question was if the wood you used was treated at all for weather or anything? Thanks!

Need liquid nails on top of every joint and band. No squeaks in the future. 💪🏼👍🏼
Great video! Keep it up
thanks!
hey great vid going to build it like that tks

Im confused, what is the length on the x braces and v braces? Thanks
How long are the legs i thought you said 8 foot but at the end on the parts list you list 2 12 foot 4×4

I was confused too. Did u buy 4 posts 8ft long or cut 2 12ft posts in middle
That bracing won't last. Do yourself a favor now and move that outside brace to the inside (opposite side of the 4x4).
It's been four years now I wonder how it looks today
they make brackets for the legs which would be way more secure than the way you did it.
Yeah and there like $100
I'd rather spend $150 on brackets than break my neck or worse.
What was the total price for wood?
Are screws supposed to be used for framing? Thought nails were supposed to be used. Can anyone weigh in on this, please? I'm about to build one.
Screws are stronger than nails
Nails will bend over and over again and won’t break
Screws will break if bent a couple times, but will grip better then regular nails
Do you ever add safety rails around the outside in case someone trips in the blind so they won't fall over?
Just asking.
I probably would've cut a little bit of an angle on those posts
Teaching with Ryobi
What would this sell for?
I’m sorry. I looked for replies, but how did you flip it over? I’m assuming flip it over?
How did you attach the ladder?
You don’t unless you want to
@Kobe Vargas that's not what he asked clown. Just attach it with big hinge brackets or 3½" screws.
Wen building ladder stand 2x4 it stronger
what was the total price on this build
I just purchased all of the items for this build and it was around $300.00
This is how the hog farmers do it
Those legs are so crooked and unstable. People, please don’t do legs like this video. Buy elevator brackets, or put them in square.
got to always be one guy out there who knows more than everyone else and must tell everyone so.
I'm sure it works or he wouldn't keep building them the same way... but I would feel a bit uneasy building them that way too.

Thanks for help, although I find it difficult to trust someone that buys ryobi tools lol jk
pretty good video, thanks. no need to buy those $60 angle brackets for the posts!
