At around 3 minutes of "say you'll haunt me" just the littlest things as hammer on made me exited. Slipknot got me started on guitar and as Mick is my favorite, Jim knows how to do amazing improv solos!
Yeah, Mick's indeed a nice guitar player, I really like his work. Jim was the reason that I started to play and he is my favorite :D Two amazing guitar players!
I think Jim Root is a respectable guitarist, but if you want a really amazing guitarist look up Ryan Knight from the Black Dahlia Murder, that man is a beast!
Lucas Kanso Meh, I tried lol. Can't convince you and you probably can't convince me, so I'll be civilized and just respect your opinion. I don't want to make this into an immature flame war :)
Joey Sanchez Yes haha, I say the same, the important thing is that we both like him, or even better, we both like this kind of music, while there is so much annoying "noise" that people call music haha, But anyway, I also respect you bro, you're just sharing your opinion as am I. Thaks for watching the video! :D
....I DO like Jim's signature Orange amp enough to own one in spite of his band being nothing but a chops version of KISS with even sillier makeup.....
Well, if you think like this, it's alright. But make sure that you know every piece of mask and what it means, why they wear masks. Kiss is stupid, not a band with a full meaning behind the mask. As for the other question, Jim's Orange amp is a monster, I have not seen any better 'til now.
.....you mean I should buy their masks at their website store so that I too can really "get it?" I have no idea how old you are but I am almost 60 so whatever "symbolism" their masks are intended to be (besides the obvious privacy and profit they provide) I am somewhat cynical and not at all impressed so I hope you will excuse me if I retain my opinion on their act vis a vis Kiss. Oh, and Kiss at least had the Replacements, one of the best bands of all time cover one of their songs. Please inform me of any iconic bands that have bothered to cover Slipknot. Don't get me wrong, they don't suck at all, just not my thing, dig? And we agree the amp is killer!!......
***** No, I'm not saying that you should buy it, I'm just saying that there is more behind those masks, what they really mean, and it's not something about just making money with it but make it have a full meaning, but as you said, if you don't like it, or as you said, you're not "impressed" it's ok dude, I'll not act like a jerk saying that you're bound to like just because I do, you have your opinions and I have mine ones, so I respect that obviously, I just said to try to know a little bit more about it. Well, I'm 18 and I must say that I'm impressed to see someone of your age enjoy this kind of music, play guitar and all that stuff, that's nice, I mean, I do not really see this so much so it's kind of different. As for the amp, it is really really killer, it's just like a monster, and it gets even better due his combination with Fender guitars and EMG pickups...
Thanks for being civil, I have found most guitar players that respond to my posts to be quite the opposite most of the time. If there is a serious side to the masks for the band and the fans so be it, who am I too judge what I am not a part of, you know? I like power and noise in both rock and jazz. Sonny Sharrock is or was, R.I.P. a brilliant jazz guitarist who played a Les Paul thru a cranked Marshall. He played seriously outside stuff but always was lyrical with a beautiful distorted tone. Check him out sometime, either his solo stuff or the band Last Exit. Plenty of vids on youtube. Also the late, great Pete Cosey with Miles Davis in the early 70's was out of this world. I love Page Hamilton with early Helmet as well as early Black Sabbath, early Sonic Youth, and even very commercially successful Rage Against the Machine, though I never did dig Tom's tone, but the music and lyrics are killer. I just got my Orange Jim Root amp to augment my similar in size and wattage Vox Night Train amp. It can't do the classic Vox "blizzard of nail's" thing but in fairness the Vox can't do the muscular power thing of the Orange, and together they cost less than the Dr Z head I was looking at. I love my Dr Z cabinet which has 2-10" Eminence Red Fang speakers but I love having both my Orange and Vox heads instead of one of theirs.
***** No need to say it, I know that is a lot of people "fighting" due to things like that while they could just respect each other's opinion and enjoy their music... But anyway, is exactly what you said, the power of the distortion tone in this Orange is simply killer, I really like Vox amps but I don't know, I think they can't match Jim's Orange.

lol Jim's face made me think he was goin "this fuckin solo again" or something xD 2:38 not a bad solo just a joke
The first thing that came over my head when he did that was "Do I can do this solo without even look at the fretboard?" and then "Oh, please u.u" haha
what song is it?
Samuel Magura "Say You'll Haunt Me" by Stone Sour
thank you
Samuel Magura You're welcome.

yeah, I feel exactly the same hahaha
I love Root a lot!
I have a question:does mission statement lead singer is corey taylor?
Yes, Corey is the lead singer for both Slipknot and Stone Sour.
I think Jim Root is a respectable guitarist, but if you want a really amazing guitarist look up Ryan Knight from the Black Dahlia Murder, that man is a beast!
Jim is WAY BETTER (:
