Oh wait...
Does anyone think he just brought that costume to the pawn stars because it's a famous show watched by A LOT of viewers thus getting himself noticed and generate potential wealthy buyers??
Ok buddy
Kool Aid or because he’s a paid actor lmao
That's be a really clever marketing strategy. Imagine all the collectors that are looking for him
Well this video alone has 5 and a half million views...
So I'd say he's done a good job of it!
of course, and pawnstars got a great episode out of it. Win win for both. Probably knew in advance he wouldn't get asking.

*Rick stops laughing and looks like you insulted his mother.
anything over 100 bucks hes gonna have to call a buddy
The final buyer of this costume was Batman for 300 grants. He burnt it immediately after and used the kryptonite crystal as a suppository!!
I love how he looks at it in awe, calls in an expert to confirm its authenticity, offers a terrible price, and once they say no he's like "Hit me up if you change your mind."
Not everyone is as dumb as you
I mean it's a pawn shop, that's how they make money.
Other people have said it, the owner was probably just trying to advertise what he had. No practical reason he would take something worth so much, and wanted by many potential buyers, to be literally sold at a pawn shop
You clowns would go bankrupt running a business paying top dollar for everything

Why is that so funny?
Just 2 say he touched it in a drunk story
Last place you would take this is a Pawn Shop. This is something that would go to a top level auction house. This just feels like a set up staged for TV
If you want rapid money
You either want quick money or want ti go public. So many people have done this with pawn stars brought something in asked for a price. And then got offered way over that after the episode aired
Yeah they do this often on the show. It makes the show more interesting and gets some advertising for the item/also some collectors just want to show off. So it's a win/win.
He wants to be on tv
@@joechill6327 exactly
It was appraised at 250k and Rick offered 200k as an opening offer. That blew my mind. I was expecting him to offer 150k at most based on all the other clips I’ve seen.
It was appraise at "A significant value in excess of $250,000" That's a big difference from 250k
Ya same I didn’t expect him offering 200
Rick probably thought he could get 300k or better at the right auction.
Well it’s superman so it be an easy sell.
He really wanted wanted that suit. I mean let's be real, who doesn't?
He probably took it on Pawn Stars to raise its value or get people interested which from what I understand worked out for him. Smart.
And the show gets free content.
I wish that’s how it works unfortunately they already have it scripted
That makes no sense. He was trying to sell it for $300,000.00, but now can only get $250,000.00 for it. But he did get a free authentication and MSRP.
@@conservative.republicans.u7677 Kinda, how it is set up is that they pick out the most interesting items to put on the show and a lot of collector's try to get on the show to either promote or show of their things.

Everything else aside Christopher Reeve was a class act. Truly a Superman to the end.
He was, and for me, the only Superman.
I've watched around 10 videos now & not one deal has been done.
He’s right that there was more than one suit made for the film. According to the late Christopher Reeve, there were about 25 of them made. Each one was for a different action, whether it was flying, walking, wire work, etc.

So we are just gonna ignore how Rick has a friend for basically everything?

Christopher Reeve was actually trained for the film by David Prowse, the man in the Darth Vader suit in the original Star Wars trilogy.
Def Blinders And put on precisely zero muscle.
Captain Quint Idiot, you should watch Reeves weight train for Superman. He was already huge before.
I don't doubt Reeves trained hard to put on that sort of size but it being the 70's I also have no doubts he was getting some help from Vitamin S (Steroids)
Def Blinders this dude was not smart he should have taken the two large but he had to be greedy also I think he just wanted to get on so other buyers could see him.
Oo
He bought it at an auction.. didn't find it for free in his house, clearly 200,000 wasn't enough to profit
Did he buy it for free?
Did he buy it for free then? And what about inflation?
Why would he get a free Superman suit that he bought lmao

Best time to sell it would be before a new Superman movie or before the justice league.

It's worth a million but I need to make a profit so I'll give you $5 . Deal
lmao
Nah how about 0.50$ to even it out
fret 25 cents I need too make profit
10 cents and a pickle I am taking a lot of risk here
Baring in mind the auction house would take a large sum of that so you go from 225k to 220k then you pay the taxes on that 220k so that would bring it down to just over or just under 200k this is why the buy price will always be so much lower
I think he just came here to check the market value 😂😂. I bet it would cost him a lot to have a evaluation of this. Smart move by this guy ✌🏻
Yeah, plus auction houses take a percentage of your item's profit; usually about 5 to 10 percent.
Matt M you have no idea how any of this works do you?
Nope he brought it to the show for free advertising. Now there are people who no its for sale and when he lists it on auction he will get more money.
and free advertisement too. now the interested buyers know where to get it

I don't really laugh at professional comedians as I don't find them that funny. Does that mean nobody laughs at their jokes???
