i used force to replace my single blade with cross cut blades on my 40v hp brushless mower, ry401017vnm and then tighten it as much force with a ratchet socket wrench!!
@@Jason-ws6bp You may be right. Mine is a season old 20" 40 volt and I bought the 3 piece Dremel shapening kit for lawn mower blades, chainsaw and loppers. Mine just now got dull. I have the mulcher in it, but when the Foxtails come in I have to switch out to the new bagging blade I just bought and bag the grass because Foxtails around here are so thick and dangerous to my cats. I never bothered sharpening mine since I got it. It's done a fine job. Love it more than any old gas mower.
When i lifted my mower today to clean it down after there was a bit of wire in the path of the blade, the wire is screwed on. Where is it meant to be facing so i can fix it?
Any wrench or socket will work. Just get it good and tight so you don't hurt yourself mowing . Wouldn't worry about torque too much...not exactly an F-18
Had the same issue. Resolved by pulling the blade away from the mower while hitting circle and half circle shapes lightly with a hammer. Don't use too much force.
That's my problem, too. I've removed and sharpened the blade several times with this problem. The entire motor is freewheeling. I'm wondering if there's a shaft-lock like on a grinder or other tools I have. WTF?
@@silverhau7566 Yeah. I just put the socket wrench on there and gave it a whack with something and it broke loose. Never had that problem before. Surprised there isn't some sort of shaft-lock like on my Skilsaw or 4-1/2" grinder that locks the motor in place so you can change the blade. My mower is around 5 years old but I can't imagine more than the battery size and power has changed much. Great mower for the city if you only have a small-ish yard. I figure sharpening the blade myself is better than buying a new one which would probably just have to be re-sharpened anyway.

Very useful video since the factory blade on my 40v mower I bought 2 weeks ago is a dull as a butter knife.
The videos I saw said that's as sharp as you should get them when sharpening. What do you guys think???

I need some help i cant find anywhere that tells me what kind of screw your useing for the axels of this lawnmower and how i can fix it.
the instructions say to recommended torque for the blade is 350-400 in. lbs?? is that right

Can I put different brand blades on?
Thanks.
What can I use if I don’t have a torque wrench like that to tighten the blade?

Ok which way to loosen, clockwise or counter clockwise?
Righty righty lefty loosey. Right (clockwise)tightens.
What size socket???
15mm socket @ 310-360lb. Says it on the bottom of the video but easy to miss.
Thanks! Whole reason I came here.
Now do it with a used machine instead of a factory fresh machine. The spacer didn't come off that easily.
I’m having a hellva time trying to get mines off!!!!!!!!
Mentioning the bolt size would’ve been helpful
It shows in bottom left corner 15 mm
Why do you not say the torque of the nut!!!! 🤔
I removed the bolt but My blade blade insulator and spacer are stuck on what do I do?
Pry it off
1 whack with a hammer bro

Thanks cause I’m having the same issue!!!!
My blade nut doesn't budge. Ripping my arm off torquing this thing. Absolutely do not recommend buying this Ryobi mowers
Do you have a breaker bar?
you need to use force and really becareful!!
When I try to tighten the blade nut after putting in the new blade, the entire assembly moves. Not sure what the issue is. Please help.

@@ElvisClambake Me too. Did you solve?
I found the solution. The metal plate is not aligned. See video ruclips.net/video/kEXkLSeUprQ/видео.html
