This was the episode I randomly saw on tv that got me interested, I had no clue what I was getting into 😂the next full episode I caught was in season 6 (They were reruns on every afternoon)
Fair episode, I remember the later moments with the silerians vaguely. The who will use the weapon/strike or the mark on his shoulder. A fair under earth city/explanation given. Earth's get hungry deep below their alien stomachs. It's been a while since seen it. I can't remember if it was before or after this episode I had a book idea for a civilization under the earth but very different then how this episode plays out of course.
I'd be interested to see what a Silurian redesign would look like. Something in-between the classic and modern designs maybe. Their cousins, the Sea Devils were pretty much given an updated version of their classic design. And FLUX redesigned the Sontarans to more closely resemble their classic look. I do think the Silurian's could do with a design that isn't as human looking as their current one, as well as a proper episode focused on them, cause all we've had mainly since this two parter is Vastra and only Vastra, like how all we had of the Sontarans for the longest time was Strax and only Strax, until FLUX.
"Too focused on the weird name". Is the Welsh language really that strange? Idk if it's just cuz Cwmtaff is an hour drive away from me but it's just one of those things I've never really thought about
Shocking that these are the only decent eps chibnall did for the show. He did adrift and stuff for torchwood which was amazing a lot of the time. That’s it though.
Not necessarily he redeemed the Daleks, the Cybermen, the Master and the Sontarans to an actual threat again more so than Moffat could and Chibnal had some great stories and some stinkers the only 2 mistakes he made was the Timeless Child and destroying Gallifrey again.
I definitely prefer this one. I wasn't super attached to the 3rd Doctor or Liz yet and it's always a little more difficult for me to get deeply invested in a story when I'm not super invested in the main characters yet. It also went on an episode or two too long for me. There definitely were parts that I enjoyed about it, but not as much as this story.
This is the first story written by Chris Chibnall that had any connection to the canon of the show. Which is saying something since he has no regard for canon or continuity of Doctor Who.
I agree that the make-up design on the Silurians is fantastic however i find them to be too humanoid looking i much prefer the original Silurians because i don't feel every alien although their not really alien i don't feel every species in modern day science fiction needs to look humanoid i miss the 3 eyes and i love the voices because they just sounded so menacing. Ironically this episode is set 10 years into the future which was 2020 and now our past i wonder if the Silurians are immune to covid 😂.
I really dislike this modern design of the silurians, far too human looking. At least they say there not meant to be the exact same species, just related to them. The best story of doctor who with a big drill is by far INFERNO!!!
I really love this 2 parter, getting more Rory time is always a win
Who sorry?
I really like Nasreen in these episodes she's a great supporting character
You definitely caught all the set ups -- I don't think everyone does in the first viewing

Chris Chibnall we meet again since 42 in Series 3 or Torchwood Series 1 & 2. I don't think he wrote a single EP for the 12th Doctor.

The Earth needs a Snickers
Why?
Thanks, Britany! ⏳ I love this one. Ashley Way directed it.
A big mining episode? Oh, I love a big mining episode. Way better than Rio.
Rio doesn't have a big mining episode
THANKS for this!!!! So glad you are back!!!!

Strictly speaking, it's not dissection if the subject is alive, that's vivisection.
Very good point.
I seem to be asking questions like this a lot, but: have you seen Back to the Future?
I did see it when I was a kid. My brother had it on a lot, but I was never crazy about it.

You've seen the Third Doctor story. Which do you prefer?

I name you, Chibnall, the destroyer of shows.
I skip these to not know how she's relevant. But i clicked for you to get traction mommy binges.
