5:08 Yep it's the same beach they used for Bad Wolf Bay; it was also the same beach from 'The Time of Angels'. Ironically, it's actually a fossil hunting beach, with lots of Cretaceous fossils.
Historically, Nefertiti vanished without a trace; her tomb was never located (though it may have been since this episode was released). This episode gave a sci-fi explanation for her disappearance, just like what Doctor Who did for Capt. Avery. She lived out her life in the 20th Century! 😂 Honestly, the Doctor's reaction to Solomon's actions was probably the most human reaction in Eleven's era.
Brian Williams carrying a trowel around is something to remember for the next few seasons. This doesn't spoil anything, just makes a small moment seasons later more fun.
I absolutely loved that Brian was along for this. At that age, you think you’ve seen everything but then you’re gobsmacked by the entire universe opening up to you. To have that full time later on with someone else was great too
Arthur C Clarke wrote the short story that became 2001: a space Odyssey. He is a prolific sci fi author equivalent to Isaac Asimov and in some interviews from the 50's and 60's, he predicted current day absolutely spot on (except for gorilla servants and undersea cities).
The actress who played Nefertiti also played the mother of Ava, aka Ghost, in Ant-Man and the Wasp. And it totally makes sense that Mr Weasley and Filch was in this; we've already seen the influence of Time Lord technology in the Potterverse with Hermione's bag that was bigger on the inside. :D
The robots were guest stars too. You won't know the voices but they were voiced by David Mitchell and Robert Webb, two well-known comedy actors and presenters on British TV. Rupert Graves (Rydell) plays Lestrade in Sherlock, and Sunetra Sarker (the Indian General) is a well-known actor in lots of shows. A lot of famous faces jammed together to achieve not a great deal, in my opinion. Let's look at the writer, shall we? Ah. 🤔
There's a theory that from asylum to angels from the doctors perspective are in reverse. That he traveled back in time so it's in order from the ponds perspective but opposite to the doctors.
Thanks, Britany! 🦖 Delightful to see *Rupert* *Graves* as 'Riddell'. Check him out in A ROOM WITH A VIEW (1985), MAURICE (1987) and THE MADNESS OF KING GEORGE (1994).
A lot of people hate this episode but I love it it’s just funny and serious at the same time i also love the the angry doctor when they hurt Brian and the dinosaurs 👀 Matt smith is so good as the doctor he can pull off the angry funny sad and sarcasm version of the doctor. Solomon was a very good villian too
I loved the scenes we got with the doctor Rory and his dad Brian 😂 especially the “put it on your Christmas list and Rory saying who has a Christmas list and then the doctor saying he does🤣”
Did...did she just say she doesn't know who Arthur C Clarke is?? Time for reactions to 2001, 2010, the Childhood's End mini-series...maybe a book club...
them raptors at 18:26 r the same version that they used on another uk show called primeval its about dinosaurs i made me happy seeing that version being used :D i be cool to see u react to primeval :D
I've always viewed this as a Moffet challenge, having heard of "Snakes on a Plane" and him thinking, "I can do one absurdity better, 'Dinosaurs on a Space Ship'!"
David Bradley, the bad guy in this episode, has another Doctor Who connection. A dvd was released years ago, call An Adventure in Time and Space. It shows how this long-lasting show came about. Bradley portrayed William Hartnell, the actor who became the first Doctor.
As someone who was still into Harry Potter and only on his second episode premiere, having Mark Williams and David Bradley on excited me greatly and probably helped me love the show a bit. Next episode’s guest star however I appreciate greatly in hindsight
A shame you don't know the name Arthur C. Clarke. Sir Arthur was possibly the greatest science fiction writer of the 20th Century, a visionary of the space age, populariser (and maybe inventor) of the concept of geostationary communication satellites. Co-writer of the book/film 2001: A Space Odyssey. Yes, I'm a fan.
There's an unfinished short episode of doctor who, that is after the events of amy and Rory's last episode, brian receives a letter from Rory ruclips.net/video/XWU6XL9xI4k/видео.htmlsi=F-_k6x6hBcFdh_Dq
Not every season has to have an arc "Dr. Who" is an experimental show and they can always do something abit different with Bad Wolf thing, the Torchwood, the Harold Saxon thing, the DoctorDonna thing, the Girl Who Waited thing and the River Song trying to kill the Doctor arcs they were great the first few times but i felt after awhile all that was starting to get alittle repetitive i thought Dr. Who works best when their more in a serialised format with consistent stories a two-parter or a four-parter and have the different arcs in those stories instead. I'm also shocked you never heard of Arthur C. Clarke one of the best science fiction writers of all time even if your not a science fiction buff people still would have heard of him though i'm not surprised with the current state of the educational system in america.
Oh, Chibnall... You can just see all the traits in this episode. I don't think this series has a theme. A shit ton of specials, minisodes and webisodes tho
One of my least faves but Matt Smith is always amazing and Brian is a highlight of the episode Plus the darker turn with the Doctor and his anger is always so brilliantly played by Smith
This is in the bottom three episodes of modern Doctor ever made. I find this one absolutely not watchable unless it might randomly be on as background noise.

The Doctor suddenly deciding that he needs to assemble a Mission Impossible Team with characters from across time & space is a fun idea.

Rory's a Weasley is the most epic description ive heard anyone give this episode... and calling out Filtch... loved it
The two robots are voiced by comedians David Mitchell and Robert Webb - the "are we the baddies?" Guys
By Vectrons hairy beard they also made cult classic Peep show as well as their comedy sketch show.
Fun fact: "Rory's" reaction to the Doctor kissing him was genuine! It was not in the script, so he truly was not expecting it.
Just to add my little note on cinemas, my mother took me to see a double bill. Snow white and the Wizard of Oz ( 1970)
The robots are voiced by comedy duo Mitchell & Webb: they have an excellent sketch comedy show by that name, among other shows.
The robots were guest stars too. You won't know the voices but they were voiced by David Mitchell and Robert Webb, two well-known comedy actors and presenters on British TV. Ah. 🤔
I bet that's where she recognised Rupert Graves from

16:24 loved this scene 😂🤣
This episode has Series 1 9th doctor energy both in the sillyness and the darker doctor.
The postcard of Siluria at the end has 9/10's TARDIS on it
“Is that a kestrel? … I do hope so.”
"Rory's a Weasley?!?" 😮😮😮😮😮
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
THANKS for this!!!!!
One of the first movies I remember seeing is the 1975 Disney film One of Our Dinosaurs is Missing.
Season 7 is pure fan service and I love it.

For clarity, it's been 10 months since Asylum of the Daleks, and not any suggestion that these episodes are in some way out of order.
come on, love the dinosaurs on a space ship.
I swear every episode of series 7 part 1 is solved by the thing just blowing up at the end
I've always viewed this as a Moffet challenge, having heard of "Snakes on a Plane" and him thinking, "I can do one absurdity better, 'Dinosaurs on a Space Ship'!"
The Doctor was in Harry Potter too, of course. 😏

Britany has a reaction to that up on Patreon
@@MalcolmWolfThaks. I had commented before his first scene. I now know that she recognized him.

The theme is almost impossible 😉, i hate the next 2 just because of what happens
