although I was probably too young at the time I do remember watching this particular episode when It first aired back in 2008, the tomb scene where Mary Magdalene has an emotional outburst is one I do remember and seeing again as an adult I really admire the soul and emotion that paloma baeza has given this role. it's a great shame that this well crafted series isn't readily available online as it's probably one of the best biblical adaptations one is ever likely to find!.
Actor Keanu Reeves shows me a name, SAMAEL. I never heard of actor, Tom Ellis but the 12 disciples in the movie, the Passion were never seen by myself. I never discussed my religious upbringing in job interviews because they could absolutely distinguish between myself and the actors in the entertainment industry.
The BBC make it as if the apostles didn't really see a ressurected Jesus, but as if Jesus spirit was in different people's bodies, this is not the Gospel 😔
I think you're missing the point. In the Emmaus scene they use another actor to give us the same experience that Cleopas and his friends did, which is they didn't know WHO it was that was talking to him. We finally see Jesus (the actor who has portrayed him) when the bread is broken, just like it happens in the story.
No I get it brother, I just think it could have been done better. I my mind when I read the gospel, Jesus is cloaked so you can't see his face, and then he is revealed later 🙏♥️✝️
@@benhetherington12 He is indeed "cloaked" in a metaphorical sense in that his disciples couldn't see him, but it wasn't like they couldn't see his face. Wouldn't that have raised some eyebrows - and been a bit scary? From a theological standpoint, if Jesus (God) were to in fact "hide his face" that's usually in the context of sin and a result of such sin is God "hiding his face" (Ps 13:1). I don't think the point of the resurrection appearances was to highlight the sinfulness of the disciples but try to convey the nature of a resurrected Jesus - it's him but it's not quite him - and what our future would be like at the end of time with God.

Mary didnt recognise Jesus because he was half hidden and also half disguised not because he had another body..after all he still had holes in his hands and where he was speared.
