I was not expecting that reaction from him the first time - but I’m so glad I was wearing my GoPro 😬

- Considering his reaction to every ‘deadly’ stream we’ve encountered, I was pleasantly surprised with the way he handled that river 😂

"Thanks for 5 years of love, Mom! You've given me more than I expected, so today I'll give you more than you ask for. I love you too! ❤" Rudnick
Looks like he conquered his fear of the water😅 he is such a silly boy❤
lol Be careful about him learning to lie down (and roll) in the water. My mother had a mare who loved to do that-she'd wade out, paw the water, then drop down into it, regardless of who was or wasn't on her back. She taught her daughter to do it, too.
My old mare would do this - she’d drop down in any puddle or mud spot we’d come across 🥲 I got quite good at jumping off very quickly but my poor saddle 😭
Like so many horses, it’s the tiny little streams,no more than a trickle, that freaks them out! 😂😂😂😂
YES! But WHY? I'm 85 and still haven't learned why creeks scare horses.
I've experienced this. Immensely puzzling! When my my black Arab and I were both 'green'. Tarby and I would easily go into the lagoon waters. Later in the apple orchard we found a rainwater ditch; the trickle was no more than Three inches wide, maybe One inch deep.
It took half an hour, coaxing, trying to bribe [which did Not work on this horse!], pulling......and finally! I hollered "Tarby, it's only WATER. GET OVER HERE!"
Well, he did. He jumped way up and would have landed 'in my arms' literally had I not jumped at the same time! Without quite understanding how I got up there, I ended up IN the apple tree, Tarby's reins tangled in its branches. He just stood there wide-eyed and still. We just stared at each other.
Survivors! The rest of the ride through beautiful Sonoma County apples and grapes...just terrific.
What a cute boy Rudnik is.......You both look great in the middle of the river........😘😍
Please post some of the photos when they’re ready, I’m sure they’ll be beautiful. ❤
I got to see the photos when we went through to pick out my favourites and omg 😍 there are some in there that I just can’t even describe! I can’t wait to share them!
That is possibly your cutest moment together!!! ❤
My cousin had a horse that hated to cross streams. He would jump, buck, rear, then finally hop across. But give him a pond? He'd go deep enough that only his head was out. The field that had the pond was fenced for horses and he couldn't be left in it. Even in the winter he'd try to swim, but keep those deadly streams from him!
He never stops surprising, does he? What a great horse……you two definitely found each other! 😅😅😅
He is hilarious, also he gets a lot of air from standing and leaping uphill.
Beautiful video really lovely 🙏❤️
Looks like you both had fun and Rudnick his usual cheeky self
Love and kind thoughts to you both 🥰😍
From one extreme to another 😅.
What a star, like a child in a swimming pool for the first time, only difference most children don't taste the water intentionally. I always love watching horse have a good hoof splashing session
That was just lovely to watch😊
What a lovely place to do a photo shoot. Rudnik is funny and gorgeous 💜
Nice to see you ride bare back bella.
What a beautiful video, Rudnik and you were made for each other 💌
He is absolutely a beautiful horse. He was so gentle with you. I really like watching both of you. The Mrs.😊
I love the noises when he's approaching the stream. It's like "well, ok, but if this all goes wrong it's on you!" So sweet! Edited to add: 2:30
Great video. The audio had me wondering if there was a cricket in my house! 🦗
I just had to pause it for a second to confirm no cricket inside the house.
Rudnick the Roan: “Hippos are called ‘river horses’…I’ll show them a REAL river horse, and boss that river around a few times!”
I rode my horse behind some girls yo a farm pond, and my horse surprised me by plunging in on his own before i asked. We all swam across and it was amazing to feel him swimming. I think he enjoyed this. But farm ponds are dangerous. I met a poor kid whose horse went through the ice. The horse drowned in front of him as he got out. He was very traumatized!!
What a character!
What a great horse😂
Your horse is broken 🤣🤣🤣🤣 seriously he's very handsome
He's found a new game❤. I was just waiting for him to get down and roll😂. I bet you got some lovely photos
Water is lava 😂😂😂
❤️
Omg he is just adorable.
We used to swim small rivers in Alaska and the horses loved it. Running a stream down into a big pond at Portage Glacier was really fun. Miss those days but cherish the memories.
Horse logic at its finest
😁😁😁. He is so funny. My Bay Roan does the same thing.
I think some horses see the reflection in the water and it looks like a giant hole in the ground.
Wow
There’s a horse at my barn who does this with all water. He used to be training to be a Grand Prix jump horse where they would put electricity in water and make them jump over it. If they touch the water they would get shocked. Poor thing still has PTSD from it.
Omg that’s horrible! Absolutely disgusting that people can get away with such awful training methods 💔
@@rudniktheroan it is.. I’m glad my barn has him now. We’re working on getting him out of his fear.
I loved riding bareback and preferred it as I could feel the horse
My husband said, when he was little they had a horse that used to live in the water. Anytime, you try to catch her, she is in the water.
Rode a Thoroghbred. Lucky on a trail ride. He would stop 5 feet before the stream. And do a 10 foot leap from a standstill. Jarred your liver loose. Lol. Yet at the stream in the field. Just walk through it.
Hahahaa!
Hahaha😂🎉
Beautiful!! I hope you take some maternity photos with sweet Rudnick. Maybe once every 4 weeks to see your beautiful belly progression ❤️. I loved my figure best when I was pregnant. I guess it made me proud to see my body doing the best it could to bring in a new life. You are growing a miracle, enjoy every second. 💕💕💕oh yes and the bigger my belly got the slimmer my legs looked lol. 💕
I’m hoping to! I think we could take some gorgeous photos! 😍
You Look So Beautiful on the river on Your Horse . ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
I was lucky enough to take my horse to both a lake and the ocean a long time ago, neither of which were in her daily life. She wanted to gallop into the incoming waves and head out into the lake, complete with saddle and me. I had to discourage her.....but at the ocean, she continued to gallop along in the incoming waves. Salt water isn't too good for leather boots or saddles, I learned.
He reminds me of a grizzly looking for salmon.
At least he didn't lie down in the middle of the river without warning as my horse used to.....My boy acted like it was a treacherous stream too, until he was in the middle, the deepest part, then he'd plot down. I miss him terribly. He was a loveable trickster, and he saved my life.
I mean to be fair that stream was at least 10 inches wide and 2 in deep. It was fearsome!! 😅😅😅
Ok; he likes “A SHALLOW RIVER”
but hates “LITTLE STREMS”????
Yup “HONSE” foe sure……
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I wonder if he had problems with streams before. That one looked a bit treacherous to me for walking across. Wide rivers tend to be a bit smoother on the bottom, I think.
Funny boy.
I had a horse who loved water. She would stick her head deep in the water bucket, up to her eyes, and blow bubbles. If we went across a stream I had to lead her or else she'd stop in the middle and lie down to roll in it.
HaHaHa! What a horse!
Perhaps, he was smelling an odor in the streams.
I am so excited for you.
Twice!
He's picky where he walks. The last stream looked like it would hurt his hooves.
Maybe the streams are muddy and treacherous underfoot. Put your foot down and it slides.
My guess is that the horse is afraid of the uneven and muddy floor on the little streams, these are extremely slippery, whereas on the river the rocks are clean and especially in rivers with a current when there is no layer of greenery, the rocks are a solid grip to step on. Many of a horse's fears revolve around stepping on bad floor and falling and consequently badly hurting themselves. They're well aware of how fragile they have been built.
🐎🤿♥️

I wouldn’t want to keep my horse, I’d I had one, in freezing water for an extended period of time.
I couldn’t get him out of it 😂 but we were only in it for maybe a couple of minutes max each time then we’d go back to shore for a bit
He reminds me of a grizzly looking for salmon.
Just wait till we share the photo results 😂
