MF was the first English I tried about 10 years ago and I fell in love right away. Maybe the mystery casing is always meant to be a mystery, just like the Maltese Falcon itself!
Fantastic, and I love that pipe! There are no truer words than what you said towards the end of the review, “You find out things about yourself that you didn’t expect...” 😎👍🏼
Hello Lester, I had to stop half way in video in search of my Maltese Falcon. Found it , had it in a nude cob with some hot chocolate. Thanks it made my day! Stay well.
Hola Lester, now I have some of the answers of my questions which I've done in my last comment. I saw your second part first instead of your first part of the Miniseries 😅. I think this will be a real good tobacco for me and I'm sure that I will love it like the film of the same name😄. A very good description 👌🏻. Well done Lester. Best wishes from the 🌞🏝. Michael
We are all saddened by the passing of Prince Philip. He and the Queen have always been such a solid cornerstone in an otherwise tumultuous world! Thank you ,Lester, for soldiering through with a welcome respite and enjoyable presentation. I am looking forward to an encounter with the "Seductive Redhead" named Ginger!!
Hi Lester, Have the blend, but have not tried it yet. Sad about Prince Philip, but he did make it to 99. I have been watching the crown, looks like he gave up his career for the Queen. Have a great weekend.
Excellent review my Dear Lester! This is quite possibly one of my favorites due to the fact that I am from the Southern U.S., and a huge fan of Bar-B-Que, and camp fires😁. I believe our friend, Curmudgeon Piper loves this blend so much because of its level of complexity and sophistication. It fits Douglas’s personality perfectly😆! Take care, Me Ol’ Mate! Cliff
Excellent review... this is one I have never tried but it certainly sounds enticing. You are quite right about tempo... the slower the better... I smoke my mixtures in about 90 minutes ... and my flakes in 120 minutes or even longer ... sipping your favourite tobacco ... allows for a taste you want to keep going as long as possible. Enjoying the series. Keep them coming amico mio. Grazie 🙏 ciao 👋 S.
Fantastic review, Lester! Thanks for the mention! As you know, This is the top rated blend for me. As soon as I tried it two years ago, I was hooked. Northwoods hits a close second but MF is pure joy in a pipe. Enjoyed this! Be well, my friend.
Great review. I’m don’t smoke a lot of English blends but I have a tin of this in my cellar just because everyone raves about it. Looking forward to trying it eventually.
RR I do believe Maltese Falcon is turning you into a poet! A fantastic review. I enjoy the blend very much. I also enjoy its cousin Spark Plug which is a bit more intense. Maybe too much for an aromatic smoker. I'm curious if as a boy you ever participated in the Duke of Edinburgh awards scheme? It sounds like a great program. I'm looking forward to your next English blend review. Cheers
I would have loved to participate in The DoE Award program, but my parents were unsupportive in my youth. Its challenging but friends who did it loved it😊😊😊
Can't imagine an Englishman worrying about trying an English blend, lol. Maybe you've been in Switzerland too long. Really though, very nice review. We love it too.
I love flavored English blends, and this is one of them. Another is Bothy Flake, but that's very difficult to obtain in the US. Tonight, I'm smoking Black Frigate for the first time in a fairly new meerschaum, and it is heavenly. Nice rum flavor, and the tobaccos are delicious. I think you would like it as well. Take care.
Your excellent review has made this tobacco a possible candidate for my next international order. There are a few others as well, that I'd like to try as well, but you really did a great job reviewing this. Thank you.
This one has been on my radar for awhile but still have yet to try it. I'm having a hard time breaking away from Rattray's Black Mallory, my favorite English. Enjoy your pipes my friend.
I have reduced my cellar preferences to MaltFalc, Star o the east original, magnum opus, and 2 or 3 random aromats. I have a tin of Innsmouth that satisfies tha vaper but seldom.
Yes..you are right…the brand is G.L. Pease its part if their Heirloom Collection…but…its manufactured by C&D. However, I should have named it right…my apologies 😉

Love Maltese Falcon. Great review as always. Sorry for the loss of Prince Phillip. He was a great world ambassador.

Great review Lester. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week👍🏻
Ok, you've got my interest! 🤠
"Beautifully Sophisticated" is the perfect description Lester!
A spot on review Lester. I really enjoy this blend. I agree, this blend is "beautifully sophisticated". All the Best mate.

I shall learn from you my Master...and I shall excel in your honour! 😊😄😄😉
My mouth is watering!
With a few tries, this one is heaven! 😲😊😄😉
Never tried that one, my friend. 🤷🏼♂️ but a meerschaum is always a great pipe for these kind of blends. 😉👍🏻
I believe the spice is nutmeg.

I was a bit the same...now I‘m opening the frontier..so far..all is well 😄😄😊😉

I lived abroad a lot, now I‘m 20% American, 25% Swiss but...still...55%...British, ...God Save The Queen 😄😉🇬🇧🇺🇸🇨🇭
one of my favorite blends! i also enjoy hu tuarekh and peter heinrichs 39 and find them to be simliar but without the mystery spice
On my list now to try, thanks my friend! 👏👏👏👏😊😄😉👍👍

Mmmm 😋😋😋 That does sound good, I like rum flakes so I’ll look for Black Frigate.....me ol matey😄😉🏴☠️

Excellent choice, enjoy piping Sir! Nice outside. Looks likes the blends are mainly from the US.
True for this first mini-series with exception of the Dunhill EMP. In the next series I will add some UK and European made EBs 😊😉

great review 👍 i have to give this tobacco a try and order a tin.
If the first bowl is too spicy for you, let it dry a bit for the second bowl and some of the ginger will evaporate 😊
Try star of the east as a similar blend. It has an uncanny baked oatmeal ginger bread note to it.
I do agree having trued a sample, now I will buy some tins! 😊😄😉
Isn't Maltese Falcon made by G L Pease?
